I saw Queen several times beginning in 1975 and it's something I have never forgotten and I'm 67 years old now so that was 50 years ago. I will never forget seeing the greatest band of all time. Every time I saw them was pure magic.

Yes Freddie lived for his music and the desire to find a true long lasting love.

I love Queen, and of course Freddie. As for the bio-pic Bohemian Rhapsody, it was really good, but you must remember that to turn a 20 year group history into a 2 hour movie, they had to manipulate the timeline somewhat, and even how some things happened. And the band never had a falling out, as the movie portrayed; they just used to take breaks from each other and pursued various solo things, they all did, to “not get sick of one another” and it helped their creative process to come back together and create again, like a shot of “Queen” after taking a vacation from each others strong musical talents and opinions. Don’t take everything too seriously, but it is a good “history lesson”, it gives some great insights to their success. AND, Freddie always was very respectful of his parents; his changing his name didn’t happen the way they portrayed it, not like when he told his parents at all. The actor Rami Malek did a great job as Freddie, as do all the other actors playing the other group members. And there is a real story bout their early years people seem nit to know about, how hard they worked, non-stop, lots of other stuff. Enlightening.

Hello from another member of the heart failure club. If you want a true reflection on their story I suggest the documentary Day of our lives. The film was great but not totally on point.
You're right about music was his life after he recorded most of the song Mother love (Brian finished it) Freddie couldn't make it to the studio anymore he stopped all but pain relief medication and died in a very short time.
How about some early Queen? Liar, live at the rainbow 1974,this is from the first of their 14 albums. It was the one that made me a fan. You will see how talented they were even then, this is written by Freddie way before the group was formed.
Right I stop boring you now😅. Blessings from England xx

This song is from the 1986 fantasy action movie "HIghlander". It refers to an immortal character who must watch his wife grow old and die. Queen wrote the songs featured in the movie.
If you plan to see the biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody", consider instead (or at least) first watching the documentary "Queen: Days of Out Lives". The movie is, well, a movie.
I'm sure you've been asked to check out "Live Aid". Stage presence at its finest! Thanks.

Freddie didn't get diagnosed with AIDS until a year after this, but he probably had a pretty strong suspicion. In the 80s, in the gay community -- in every community actually -- it was impossible to escape. For him to sing this song, knowing what he did...it breaks my heart every time I watch it.

„I like having freedom on stage and moving around a bit, but when I saw the Magic Tour setups I was like, "Oh my God! What am I ever going to do with that? I should have skates to move from side to side". I didn't feel like letting anyone down, so I didn't want to do the tour at first. But I think it's all a mental thing. I thought instead I had to face it and train a lot, and in the end I dismissed everything with an "I'll be myself, I'll give everything I can". So I did some push-ups and after three or four shows of pure agony my muscles started to react positively and after that it was fine. I'm glad I did that tour, because it was one of the biggest and most successful ever, and I'm glad I jumped in."
Days of Our Lives is a good documentary.

Thanks, BID... written for the soundtrack of "The Highlander" ... by Brian.. so dramatic.. (p.s. movie is not bad for an 80's film.. and the sort of "wooden" Christopher Lambert... lol) and Bri on keys at the start.. until the switch to guitar.. of course, Freddie's vocals are amazing.. but this is the entire BAND.. appreciate your reaction!

THANK YOU SO MUCH for reacting to so much Freddie, recently!
There are only three live performances from Freddie on-video from this song. This one you reacted to was the second consecutive night - Saturday, July 12 - of a two-concert “Wembley Weekend”.
And believe-it-or-not - as amazing as Freddie always is - this performance definitely ranks down at Number 3. (As a matter of fact, I’ve even read that Freddie was so displeased/disappointed with his performance here, it was one of the deciding factors in his decision to permanently stop touring.)
    The other two performances are:
    1) FRIDAY, JULY 11, 1986 at Wembley. (My personal FAVORITE: Freddie’s voice is POWERFUL and his emotions are RAW…
This link includes the “politically incorrect”🫢 version of his little speech)
    ruclips.net/video/GsnBLaRQOQM/видео.htmlsi=HCvZkHusBdD9k5V8
    2) At Budapest. (This performance shows Freddie’s vibrato at its most perfect.)

@@joyceharkin3641 It makes me kinda “sad” that not very many folks ever see that rendition… GLAD you liked it! (The same is true for most of the songs from the Friday Wembley concert: Hidden Gems that most folks don’t seem to be aware of.)🖖

Yes, watch the "Bohemian Rhapsody" film by all means, but if you really want a good (and true) biopic about Freddie and the band then please seek out "Who Wants To Live Forever, The Freddie Mercury Story" which is a docudrama and therefore much closer to real life. Also, the actor playing Freddie looks much more like him than the bug-eyed Rami Malek. Malek did a good job, but was not my ideal Freddie by any means. My opinion, of course, but I much preferred Gwilym Lee as Brian May!

You need to watch the official video of this. Bit of a different take. Also watch Somebody to Love live in Montreal 1981. Different than studio version and better.
