So beautiful to watch...I love the hoop dance...It is so ...well for me calming ..I could not take my eyes off of it...I saw it in real life way back when I was a teen and never forgot it.,and never will..
@@nspbh49 Thank you and your welcome ...I hope to one day...My great great grandmother was half Cherokee..Other then my red/blond hair ...I look just like her...I have seen her.photo...
I think the greatest thing a person can do is to share their culture with another person of another culture. I can't speak for everyone but I recognize the beauty and depth of the Native American Culture and even as an artist there is nothing wrong with finding entertainment as well as enlightenment through music and cultural dances. I feel blessed that despite all the negative atrocities against the Natives, they can still have the grace to share that which is so dear to them with everyone.
This hoop dancer is very inspiring children. My five yr. Old grandchild saw a hoop dancer. For his first time . I am creatimg his first Grass dancer . I and him if he wanted to be a grass dancer! He said ,"NO, I Want to be a hoop dancer. ". I was speechless, and so proud of this young Native boy. I'm now will make him hoops. !!!!!
im ojicree..half cree, half ojibiwe...now this is my opinion...when this guy sed it was a healing dance...he wasn't lying...made me realised how that our culture is not dead...not yet anyway...and to keep it from dying early we first nation people must come together and show the world what we really are, that we are still here...let our drums rumble this land
Thank you so much for posting this. The intro was great, I can watch this over and over. You are so talented, thank you for your service and for perpetuating your culture.
The talent, the skills, it's breathtaking to watch. I would love to be able, someday, to watch this live. I am overwhelmed by the brilliance and beauty of this dance.
Highly appreciate that you included the story. My wife has only recently learned of hoop dancing and I didn't know enough to explain. Thank you for the healing that you continue to spread, Brian. Respect.
Man. This crowd didn't appreciate your jokes, but I just want you to know I laughed my ass off in the first couple minutes, before you wowed me with your dancing.
I agree with you.....there is no reason to be sad....rather feel joy at the beauty, the sharing, the perseverance of a peoples.....pow wows are for celebration!
Thank you for sharing this, I really enjoyed watching it as well as letting the drumming enter my soul. 17 years ago in Cardiff, South Wales. I attended an educational conference of Native American Elders and with them was a 17 year old Welsh boy, who had learned this dance from various Native sources and he performed this for the audience. I seem to recall him using about 8 or 9 hoops. He received a standing ovation from all there that day! Always in awe of your traditions. Blessings.
No wonder people anticipate that native Americans had connection with ancient extraterrestrial beings. This dance to very smart and well designed. just using simple circles to make complicated patterns as wings and planets, unbelievable!
Dude, the only aliens Natives are dealing with are weird outsiders who watch too much History channel. ET didn't meet with us, must have been with the BIA.
such magic, such a magical story within the dance - the world we live in is the world we make for ourself the beating of the drum, reminds us of our own beat our own drum that beats within us, this is the beat that we dance to, our own hoop dance of life a truly amazing dancer is he wow is so tru, classic dancer for sure love life and dance
wow !!! this was amazing !!! i would have LOVED to have seen this in person !! i have always had a respect and fascination for everything native american . . . so connected with nature. it's a real treat seeing this dance. thank you. :)

Great and complete super warrior. Please keep on sending your message to the world, there we are for sure a lot of people who is concious about ancient cultures performances just as a way to share the whole world the strenghts of our roots. Congratulations!
After decades of watching this dance someone explains the dance and the movements and what it represents in nature and in daily life. Tku for yr yr time chief
Absolutely gorgeous dancing. A honored blessing your way Brian. May the Grand Creator continue to bless your life and continue to share the dance with others.
That was an awesome video, one of the best hoop dance i have seen. Keep up the great performance and hope one of these days i can see you perform in person.
i respect the natives undyingly, they are beings of pure spirit and they embrace a culture of rhythm. i would spend my life with them if i had the chance
Bless and be blessed! I'm about to start a journey of hula hooping and this was such an inspiration. I grew up in Oklahoma and Florida, so I feel very connected to my native brothers and sisters .... I enjoyed this dance , the music and the thong. Thank you for sharing . Peace.
This is beyond liking!. This is verging on the impossible. One wonders how this came to be. We have in the past been entertained by dancing girls doing hoop dances and looking quite good. So now we see where it comes from and in comparison we have been shown shit. This ancient talent is unbelievable.
The dance has definitely evolved over the years but the teachings and the significance remains the same. The younger generations are taking it to a whole new level
@blinkXmeXsunshine Thank you for the comment. If you saw our complete presentation you would find that it focuses on cultural diversity, sharing our culture in a very possitve light and breaking down the walls of that separate all cultures. By putting a smile and good feelings in the hearts of the spectators we are taught that we are sharing the blessings of life. The dance is a great way of truly opening the eyes of people to the beauty of our native culture. Thanks.
Wow!! I have these feelings that I like to call “I need to hug a tree” where I crave being close to nature. I take a slow hike through the woods. It’s not about exercising; it’s about listening. I’ve even been known to do this in horrible weather like just before a blizzard picks up speed. This guy dancing gave me that same feeling I get when I’m hearing all those little forest sounds and when l get that warm protective barrier in bad weather. Like when there’s the slightest sound and you look up to find a herd of deer crossing the path right in front of you.
I am a new hoop dancer of only a few months. I felt the calling and made some and it’s changed my life already. That was so inspiring. Your regalia is awesome too, that bustle is 🔥 Ahow Miigwech Niijii! ✊🏽🙌🏽 let it be done thanks cousin! Nimiigwechiwendam. I am grateful.
Keep practicing and you will be amazing. There are so many more hoop dancers now then when I started and the creativity is off the charts. Keep practicing and I will hopefully see you dancing at the world championships.
Incredibly impressed by your strength, dexterity and not to forget *stamina* in this dance. Beautiful work, hope you are keeping well these many years later!
I think there's hope to be had in the appreciation in and resurgence of these traditional arts. So much has been brought back from total extinction, it's a real blessing. Let's work to continue it! :)
Such beautiful display of everyone's onciousness s! Big blessing is for your natural ability s and your beautiful display of solid soul! Listening to Aretha singing about freedom,Blues ?ros! ...shine on *~^~* *~¥~*
I’m seeing this for the first time and I am almost in tears. I am not a Native American but I spent a lot of time on the reservations in New Mexico as a boy with my father, particularly among the Navajo, Acoma, Isleta and Zuni’s. I sent this video to my father this morning and we talked for almost an hour about you. We both have a love for Native American dance pow wow, traditional, shawl and of course hoop dancing. You are other worldly brother...just beautiful to watch the power, grace and artistic storytelling. You dance as well as anyone ever has in history and better than most ever could. I’ve watched it at least a dozen times since last night and I’m sure I’ll watch it dozens more. Thank you for this but most of all, thank you for making my father smile today and reminding us both of our time together with the Pueblo’s. Big blessing for us both. You are quite simply the greatest hoop dancer I have ever seen....
