Great material, thanks for posting! Just want to second what the other guy said-including tabbed chords would be really useful and appreciated.

Your "reggae" is actually a ska rhythm. Reggae is downstroke skank, ska is upstroke skank. Ska is faster than reggae as well.
Now my thing when I started trying to play reggae and ska was like, well since my strings are in fifths and they're like upside down guitar kinda, "should I upstroke for reggae and then downstroke for ska?" The answer is definitely not. Just because mando is tuned different it doesn't mean the skanking style changes. Reggae is downstrokes, ska is upstrokes.

It may bring more subscribers if these are taught as lessons as opposed to performing a demo

Thank you. I may revisit this concept as you’re not the first to mention it, and I’m looking for more lesson material. Cheers

@@isaaceichermandolin I know this can’t be true but it seems like you have to join something to get the lesson. At this point I think it would be easier to learn without you tube lessons.
Most are just looking for the cliff note version like play G but do this now go and do that. Here’s the tab kind of lessons. I suspect as soon as one clicks on a lesson and they see a performance they move on.

I think the real take away from this would be if you could do one explaining your approach to left hand muting. That is one of the most complicated parts of having a really good feel but it’s really hard to explain. As a teacher myself, I’d love to hear your approach to teaching this technique.

Why no tabs or note/chord by note/chord slower presentation ... I love the percussive aspect of mandolin, i'm relatively new player ... but this presentation does me no good, can figure out some but not all finger placement

Keep in mind not every video on my channel is tailored to beginners. My concept for this video was just to demonstrate the rhythms, and if you’re picking up some of the rhythms and chords then that’s great! Also, I do have learning materials for sale on my website that cover all of the jazz chord shapes I use. Cheers

They sound great and all...but a one year beginner like me has no clue what you're doing. Maybe a quick explanation of how each rhythm is achieved would be useful.
