Lots of tutorials out there for Mr Jones, but this one definitely explains the strumming pattern the best. For this tune it’s all about the strumming. Thanks for taking the time to explain it clearly!

I agree. Best lesson on this song especially for a 56 year old who has only bee playing for 1 year. I get freaked out about strumming patterns but this is similar to what I learned for My Sweet Lord. Count me in as a new subscriber. Thanks.

I've only been playing for a few months, started late in life but this has always been a favourite of mine but couldn't get anywhere near strum pattern for it, until I watched your instruction, I could follow it ,you take your time and explain things that a late fifties guy with two left feet for hands can grab a guitar and have a go, excellent lesson. hey good lesson, clearly one of the best I have heard to date. Like the way you go step by step threw the lesson it really helps out a novice like me. Another thing, I am going blind, so to get step by step instruction is sreally helpful please keep that in mind there are some like me that require extra instruction when you do your lessons but for the most part just keep doing what you are doing and i will keep learning with your assisstance. thank you again and keep up the great work.

Good lesson man, but I'm confused about one thing. Most of the tutorials I've seen for this song say to use the F barre chord and not Fmaj7. However, I noticed in the music video for the song, that the guitarist is playing Fmaj7 and it sounds very similar when I play a 4 fingered Fmaj7. Thoughts on that?

Yeah, sounds like he is using an Fmaj7 chord to my ears. There are many different ways to voice the same chord and often it comes down to where you are at on the neck and what version is in the closest proximity. Or you may like the tambour of one variation of a chord over another. I think like you stated many players will just use the F major chord and it will work as the major 7th chord is built off the major and just add the 7th to the chord (major = 1,3,5 and major 7th = 1,3,5,7) - but for my lessons I try and be as accurate as possible. But nothing wrong with players exploring and being creative and putting their own spin on it too! Keep on rocking!
