Wow,I played it on gamecube,talk about nostalgia! That was an under appreciated gem! Still have fond memories of that game all these years later. Surprisingly,it still holds up to this day.

I have always wanted a reboot or sequel to Nightmare Creatures!!! Absolutely adored that game growing up. Looking back now it hasn't aged so well visually and mechanically lol but it is still great. I am still saddened by the altered Beast reboot cancellation
I'm really sad that game never became a franchise, it should have continued for a little more. Was hoping 1 day it would go a more open world route too.

Akaradet Somrak Critek's Far Cry had nothing to do with the ones Ubisoft developed because Ubisoft made Far Cry what it is today. If it was for Crytek, Far Cry 2 would have been Crysis since Cysis was pretty much a reimagined Far Cry 1.
There is this game called splinter cell though (except it's in 3rd person)

I just bought it & the season pass on sale for $6 & started playing it on my Series X and it’s so Amazing! I’d dare say one of the most underrated Open-World style games ever made IMO. I remember getting it when it first launched yrs ago and only played a handful and stopped bc of the issues, but now yrs later with the updates and DLC it’s something to behold. I loved the original game as well and the MP for it. Holding out hope that Dambuster Studios makes a sequel after Dead Island 2. 🤘
The multiplayer in my opinion was a good mix of Battlefield and Call of Duty.

Im diggin this. Ive always wanted a guerilla tactics game with the kind of realism and depth of something like Arma. I.E- scavenging screws and pipes and shrapnel and explosives for bombs. Parts of radios and stuff to coordinate attacks. In other words, my ideal game would make you work a little bit for the stuff you need, to make it feel like you earned it. And guerilla tactics should be absolutely necessary, the enemy FAR more powerful than you are.Also important is that the weapons be realistic. No matter how many guns people like to think Americans have, vast likelihood is that the weapons a resistance fighter would have access to , for the most part , would NOT be top of the line military grade hardware. Theyd be hunting rifles, handguns, shotguns, old military surplus rifles, .22s.
Recruit civilians like you could in Metal Gear Portable OPs or Peace Walker. Be able to individually outfit them with different armor, weapons, gear. Choose squads and use maps of the target that you created by doing recon- to instruct your squads which route to take, what direction to attack, etc.Spend resources to train them in certain skills. For example another solution to the police station might be to train a couple of operatives t a high level of proficiency in hand to hand combat. You could then have them purposely arrested, and have them assist the breakout from the inside. That might be a bit overly complicated, but my point is that thered be multiple outcomes and choices to be made.
Unfortunately, it looks like thisll be mostly a spin-off COD thing, but hopefully they make it a bit more serious, or at least get some ideas for a follow-up. I swear if someone hired me on, id create the best game ever.
I agree with most of what you say besides the whole guns part. Considering many Americans own AR15s, AKs and other semi auto rifles that are just like the ones used by the militaries of the world. Only difference is ours are semi auto only no automatic selector, well unless you have the proper licensing
Well yeah COMPARATIVELY many Americans have military style battle rifles, but overall, a very small percentage of them actually own them. And its more fun to be the underdog with sub-par hardware anyway...having to rely on strategy and intelligence to accomplish your goals. Those are the types of games I like.

KoMoDoGamezHD And that's where it all counts. Open world is the best along side the multiple choice games like R6. Love Co-op, just need to have people online all the time to play them.

Pretty much what i expected, a mixture between the first homefront and crysis.
It's cool to see a game take place entirely in my home town. Philadelphia never gets any love in entertainment, so it's nice to finally see it get a game set in it, despite the fact that it's all blown up! Hopefully love park, the art museum, the sports complex, and all the other places are in it! Maybe I can get some apocalyptic cheesesteaks at Pats or Genos!

I was going to point out the ridiculousness of the notion that korea could take over the US -- the most dominant military in the whole of human history -- but it seems I'm a bit late to the punch.
But if I remember correctly, the original Homefront took place at the start of a hypothetical war where the Koreans quickly invaded the coast. The idea of a war between the US and Korea isn't THAT hard to believe. The game ends with the implication that guerillas were able to halt or repel the invaders. This games takes it a bit further by implying that the war is already over and that Korea won the war - and that is much harder to believe.
Looks interesting but... I just can't suspend enough disbelief to stomach the idea that the Koreans unified and crushed America.
that unfathomability is kinda what would make such an event so shocking.

Gameplay looks somewhat similar to Crysis, and that is a good thing in my opinion.
Def. going to pick this up if the multiplayer is good.
The mp in the original Homefront was decent although it seemed to borrow heavily from COD which by itself isn't a bad thing. It did seem as if it was an afterthought to the campaign though
Multiplayer. Pfft. Hate how people think these days that a game does well based on that. If this game had no MP at all id still get it. I only go for games with a good story/setting. MP is a bonus, not a necessity

I know a lot of people think the crysis series is just a big tech demo but I thoroughly enjoy the freedom it gives you, I think 2 is my favorite because it was small sandboxes, but they were all very fun and I loved all the freedom and customization. I am glad crytek i developing this. It is looking really good.

Gotta admit,this looks like it has a shit ton of potential! I am from the Philly area,so I know the city fairly well,this should be interesting. I have the first game but have yet to play it.
I like what im seeing so far from the video. crafting,gadgets and the weapon attachments look cool. I really like the idea of interlocking zones.Time will tell just how open this game actually is. I would love for it to truly feel open-world once all the zones are "unlocked"

IGN get your facts right. The guy you played as in the previous game wasn't an ordinary guy. He was a military trained pilot. Likely had weapons training too. It made sense.

The game still has plenty of a way to go we need to make Deep silver realize, how good the original Homefront's multiplayer was and how many people enjoyed it, and they need to.
A similar style of multiplayer revamped with the tools we have available and the budget would be amazing.
Deep silver needs REAL multiplayer in this game and it needs to be a huge focus of this game!
+Marksman 5147 I dont know think of trying to balance the teams? KPA high tech vs Guerilla in original it was more equal then it is now honestly i liked that no pvp is here because i feel it wouldnt work
rader3200able Homefront 1's multiplayer was a huge element, people focused on the "unrealistic" (which it isn't) story and not on the multiplayer, those who did knew how good it was as well. I never played it at the time tbh but from the 20min I played after it died it was really damn good. This is why I was so anxiously waiting for Homefront II/Revolution. I really enjoyed the story but also for the multiplayer, having another competitive shooter on console (where that's really lacking) is a huge deal and this 100% sucks. Open world is fun for a few hours maybe 80 but by then you'll have 100% completion easy and there's nothing left to do.

This is completely different than the first game. And that's a good thing.
I've noticed a new trend in graphics on next gen consoles: the textures are only mildly more detailed than last gen games in some cases, but the lighting effects are much better and of course the resolution.

Like other commenters, I just can't get past the premise of the story. It's just so impossible that no one can in their right mind believe it for even a second. Even with Russia or China as the main enemy, this story would still probably be unbelievable. You might be able to destroy American cities and defeat our military, but to be able to occupy the entire nation would be borderline impossible. The supply lines and man power you would need would be astronomical. And lets not forget the whole gun culture that would likely be a thorn in any invaders plans.
Why are you harping on the game's setting? I mean, the only thing that would seem improbable is how North Korea can unify the Korean Peninsula. The game is doing something different, and I appreciate that.
Honestly, no one wants to play a game that's too realistic. Sure, if you think about it realistically and take the lore into consideration, Korea would be fucked, but isn't that the point of video games? To get AWAY from reality? There are way more improbable settings and stories, so it's really not that bad.
Besides, we've had so many games in so many settings, but hardly anyone went with the "America invaded and occupied" until recently. I'm kind of tired of how America is always the power in shooters.
Im not harping about the setting? Im harping about the premise of the story. It has to be some what grounded in reality when you start using real world things. Using Russia for example would be passable because they are still pretty powerful. Though in reality they couldn't occupy the US, we could look past it.
The whole point is that a premise that is complete and utter bullshit takes away from the experience.
You might as well have Algeria invade and occupy the US.
