I really like your channel! There are so many booktube channels out there these days that it’s hard to know what to watch, but yours is authentic
I got myself a copy of Jane Eyre after you talked about it several times and it was phenomenal. Too bad you got spoiled, cause that book kept me on my toes until the very end. It plays with your expectations a lot.
I just picked up that same edition of Jane Eyre yesterday. Grateful I watched this before starting it. I've also learned the hard way to save introductions until I finish the book because so many times the book gets spoiled. Never had a footnote do it though. So sorry you experienced that but happy you still enjoyed it!
rapidly running out of eggs goofing around
I never read the introduction until I finish the book, especially if its a classic. They always assume you know the story.
The goat is back
Planning to start Jane Eyre this week!
Thank you for sharing
For me winter readings are Wuthering Heights and Anton Chekov’s short stories and plays
I have a bone to pick with penguin now too
Why?
@williamgass9242 did u watch the video
@Thetrilingualreader no
Yeah that footnote is crazy ngl
I had to stop reading introductions to classics, same thing happened to me with Emma by Jane Austen
Let's start with the obvious here: the background decoration (the way your books are laid out) has changed. It looks really nice in a minimalist kind of way. Also, what is the signification of the small red house on your right side? We're all dying to know here!
I haven't read anything really "spooky" per se recently, but I just finished a book titled "Who Framed Colin Wallace?" written by journalist and author Paul Foot. The book is about The Troubles in Northern Ireland, the work and methods of intelligence agencies and so on, and it's a rather "dark" read. Next on my list is "The Russian Revolution: A New History" written by the historian Sean McMeekin.
I haven't read Poe in quite a while. I'll have to go back some time in the future. The writing craft aspect is also something that would interest me as a writer.
horror film fan? nice. now it's time for your 13 favorite horror movies
Great video! I was wondering if you’ve read Shining by Stephen King? If so, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the atmosphere and storytelling. If not, would you consider reading it?
I was going as fast as I can. Moving the bed and vacuuming isn't light work 😅
You need to reading Machado de Assis. Him are brazilian autor mega importante. Good reading.
Kinda off topic but since you mentioned being a horror movie fan, what are some of your favs from the last 10 years or so.
@@Ouroboros0451 hmm in no particular order, and expanding to all of the 2000s: pulse (2001), it follows, when evil lurks, the descent, hereditary, the witch
