EDSA habal-habal

This lady said she came from Cavite, but accidentally went to the wrong bus terminal. She said someone at the terminal assisted her in finding a motorcycle, to take her to the correct place.
Unfortunately it’s not a legal motorcycle taxi, such as those registered with Angkas, Joyride or MoveIt.
At first the lady went along with the story that the rider asked her to tell enforcers. But later she disclosed exactly what happened.
You may remember not so long ago, when a female passenger requested for CCTV from the MMDA, because she was robbed by her habal-habal driver.
Likewise there have been many accidents where habal-habal drivers have abandoned their passenger, to avoid any responsibility.
Of course not all habal-habal drivers are like that. It’s probably a minority. But that’s the risk you take, because there’s no way to identify your driver.
It’s much safer to use a legal motorcycle taxi, since it’s easy to identify the driver if something goes wrong, there’s an NBI clearance, professional drivers license, insurance for accidents and so on.
