First gustard H26 review on RUclips. Really nice review. Compare H26 with aune s17 pro, which one do you prefer? Which one has denser and richer, more dynamic sounds?

The H26 paired with either the R26 or A26 is a very tempting Gustard Stack

As a preamp alone, how does this compare to gustard's p26?

I was looking for a preamp for my Gustard R26 dac, and was torn between the H26 and P26. I chose the P26 preamp based on some (really helpful) advice from the Gustard support. The choice was driven by the following aspects:
      1) I did not need the headphone amp, just a pure preamplifier.
      2) I have swapped the LME49860 op amps on the P26 with Sparkos Labs SS2590. The Sparkos pair cost me 250 Euros, which took the P26 to a whole new sound level, that is hard to describe. The LME49720 op amps on the H26 are also on swappable DIP8 switches. However it has capacitors mounted very close to the Op-amps, and the Sparkos OpAmps are big and need space (LxB is 1.1 x 1.1 inch, or 2.8 x 2.8 cm). Gustard was kind enough to send me close up measurements that helped me conclude that the op amp swap would be tricky, or just not possible.
      3) The P26 allows you to adjust gain between 0 to +6dB both in the input and output stage, which helps to harmonise and match with components on both ends. The H26 only has +6dB gain option at the output side.
      4) Gustard support responded to my question of how both would compare in pre-amp mode with the following reply, I quote: "The P26 is a good choice for a preamp only. The P26 and H26 preamplifiers have different styles, the H26 is tuned a little softer while the P26 is a little clearer."

      5) The P26 has more compatibility with the DACS, due to the bigger input impedance (47kOhm vs 8kOhm)

Aheh, I don't like the clicking sound when turning the volume control, between I'm using a lower level preamp headmp model H16 at full volume with an SMSL C100 as DAC preamp, Gustard seem has just a bit of "limiter" to high frequency without sound too screechy in case pairing with some neutral detailed transparent power amp like boXem Arthur 4215/E2.

I own the H20 - its direct predecessor. I use it as a HP amp, but right now I'm using it as a pure preamp. I changed out the LME49720 IC opamps and installed Sparkos SS-3602 discrete opamps s in it instead. This changed it from already very good to really great - and really hard to beat for a reasonable price, IMO. It is a very good as a HP amp, but I sorta wish it had just a little more "drive" - meaning, that I'm usually listening at about ~1:30 to 2:30 on the volume dial with Hifiman Arya Stealth HPs - but this may just be how the R2R volume control works compared to most analog logarithmic volume pots that get exponentially louder as the volume dial is turned. Plus, the low, medium, and high gain settings don't really do much, IMO, with each setting being almost the same as any of the lower settings.
My questions to Mr. Tharbamar is:
If you have reviewed the H20, I wonder if the H26 has a better gain structure compared to the H20?
Also, is the power from the BAL HP out the same or greater than the H20?
If I can get these questions answered, I think an H26 will be on my radar to replace the H20. Gustard's "house sound" to me is hard to pass up.....

    Wonderful Review *😇*💫💥
Do U think i will get similar Results with the
    Gustard R26 DAC ? as with the AH90 ?
    Momentary i use an Audio-GD Master 19
    Preamp/HP Amp. It sounds phenomenal,
but i woder the H26 could beat it?

New track, I can not compare with past videos.
I am not convinced by the sound but I do not know if it is because of Gustard, he song or because of both.
