dude's obviously highly talented and has what it takes in terms of talent to be in the league for many years. Just hope he can find a groove. Maybe thats with another team though.
Can't wait to see him back in full strength and much improved. Basing on his lone game in summer league last year against the Celtics, I have enough grounds to believe this young Jazz can trump the clippers and get close to the leaders of the pack in the western conference come Feb next year!
Far from an outstanding rookie season but the dude is 19. Has so much potential, if he continues to work relentlessly hard on his body and his game, has a chance to be a very good starting NBA PG.
he just needs to develop confidence to attack defenders on the offensive end. he has all the physical tools. i think its all just mental. once he sees his childhood friend ben simmons start to dominate, hopefully that will motivate him to realise his potential
i know his rookie season wasn't much, but i think he is a very underrated prospect. if i was a gm, i'd want to pick him up as soon as possible while he's still under the radar. people forget he is the youngest player in the league. you can't expect the youngest player to adapt to an entirely different type of basketball from where he comes from and play the toughest position to learn in the toughest league in the world, and magically be excellent on the fly. i don't know any foreign pg's who didn't have trouble in their rookie season, and i only know very few rookie pg's to really go off in their rookie season in general. he's basically still a kid in a mans league. yet he already started most games in the second half of the season. his defense was already very impressive for a rookie, and his body is already quite advanced. he's got all the tools: his handles are good for his size, he's very quick and fluid, his defense is there and his shot has a foundation on which you can work on. if he gets more confident, more aggressive and learns to become a shooter on midrange and 3pt range, i seriously think he can become one of the best guards in the game. it's all on his shot, and that's basically the only thing holding him down going forward. he'll need more confidence and a higher and quicker release. if he works hard on it and gets it to go, i think he'll be a beast. his sophomore season will already show great improvements i'm sure. there are just too many signs and just too much talent. the jazz are gonna be very interesting with him and gobert going forward.
As much as I think Neto had improved this past summer and Shelvin is likely improve as well, I think the Jazz should definitely consider shipping these two guards away just to make room for Exum to maximize his development because if Jazz open the season with a 10-2 record, all they need is mid-to-long term continuity. Exum and Bolomboy will provide that. Trading away Ingles as he really doesn't provide much incremental value now that Joe Johnson is in house and really three point specialists are plentiful in Burks, Exum, Bolomboy and Lyles. This move can free up a spot for Quincy Ford to get some reps. Along with Marcus Paige, I think the Jazz will have 3 very good rookies and Lyles and Exum entering their 2nd season. I personally like Chris Johnson as he provides 3-point shooting and tenacious one-on-one defense and should be a good fuse-safety should Joe Johnson gets injured.
If he can improve his jumper and get a little stronger this kid has All-Star potential. He's lightning quick, a good passer and has nice length and defensive instincts. It'll probably take him a couple more years to fully mature and adjust to the NBA game but once he's there he'll be a force for years to come.
very talented but has so much to work on. - needs a quicker release- his shot is too slow so he can't get it off off the dribble. - higher release- easy to block and he can't shoot unless wide open - get to the rack more often- he can do this well - finish over with confidence- takes time- he s naturally kind of meek. but with aggression and practise- he s going to be ok- he s naturally so unselfish and a team plaeyr- and gets how to play.
Le- Minh everything your saying about his shooting is wrong. His release is perfectly fine, no need to get it as quick as steph curry. At 1:59 and 2:41 is pretty good and fast release. But in general his jump-shot is quick enough. And high release? how high do you want him to release it he has really good height on his jumpshot. Just look at the video man your telling me that's not high enough. The last 2 points you mentioned I agree though. But at the end of the day its your opinion im just stating mine aswell
ASURAN24 I'm messaging you from Feb 2017 to say you were pretty close. Exum definitely starting to make some noise. No accolades yet but realising his potential again.
It's a shame for Dante that he didn't play a year in college (good for Jazz though.) A developing "project" or not, a very smart NBA coach started him last season (granted that Trey Burke was needed to bolster an offensively-challenged bench.) Yes, the Jazz were/are a lottery team, but they are very very young and, despite inexperience, improved much in the season! How many barely-19 year-olds get thrown into that situation? His stats reflect that. But can you discount him while he's still a teenager? You ppl must have the attention span of a fruit fly! Do you get angry when it takes you more than 2 minutes to get your BigMac?? How can someone say his speed is overrated? They should have shown the play (there are a few better ones) where he chases a mishandle from the opposing G/PG from beyond mid-court. The other G/PG gives up on it as it's obviously going out of bounds! Somehow Dante grabs it just before it goes out and dishes to Rodney Hood (the only Jazz player to believe he gets that ball!) for the finish. Even in this video, you see the speed that he gets down the floor with. It's just a matter of time!
KBTITAN-24 I think it's still too early to predict that much. Definitely has the physical tools but I haven't seen much from him, you probably know more about his skill set. I know he can shoot and play make. definitely an interesting piece come fantasy draft night.
A Very Hopeful Laker Fan you don't know what you're talking about. they picked him up for his potential. you can't expect an 18 year old to walk in and be all-star calibre.
collectorman101 well now that he's torn his ACL his career will change. maybe he'll be a bust. exum was always considered a project anyway, the jazz picked him up for his long-term potential value.
+Diego Nieves Absolutely. I'm excited for his development. The defensive end is where he really shines, though, so I'm surprised that this video didn't show any of his stellar defensive plays.
4;50, 5:54 and maybe 8:52 are the only highlight worthy moves throughout the entire clip. So the kid can make open three pointers (at 31%, far below league average for players who shoot 3 or more treys per game) and he knows how to make Rudy Gobert do all the work. This kid reminds me a lot of Wesley Johnson, but worse at everything except passing. (Wes Johnson sucks by the way, for those who don't know) He can't create his own shot. He's a system passer. He looks lost on offense. He's not nearly as quick as advertised, and he has no creativity around the rim. Factor all that in with his league worst true shooting percentage and the fact that his A:T ratio is below average for a point guard, and he has draft bust written all over him. He really doesn't have any redeeming factors. His defense is probably his best asset, and he's only average in that sense. Much like Wesley Johnson, he looks the part, but just can't seem to do anything right.
Blue He's still only 19 years old, and he didn't even play college ball. He went straight from playing against little Aussie highschool kids to then playing against the biggest and best athletes in the world in the NBA. He's upside is absolutely massive.
I think its funny how Dante tries to talk trash in 2k 15. 😂 dude i score more than you average with just a 3 and a freethrow. I average 32.4 ppg Leading scorer so far.
+kwairsoft1999 Yeah, sure you can tell he has weak bones because of his movement haha.... and his movement looks different because of his size and length, it's like Cam Newton at Auburn, he didn't look like he had elite speed and athleticism even though he would regularly outrun the D, just because of how big he was for a QB.
As a die hard jazz fan I'm surprised there was 8 minutes of material to work with
dude's obviously highly talented and has what it takes in terms of talent to be in the league for many years. Just hope he can find a groove. Maybe thats with another team though.
He struggled with ankle injuries and was out whole 2015-16 season because of it!
+Bluey FFA ACL*
dallas
He went to my primary school at Australia! We all love him
Can't wait to see him back in full strength and much improved.
I really want exum to be great. I hope he stays healthy
Where's the highlight of him getting dunked on by Clarkson?
moves without the ball so well. underrated ability of his game
he just needs to develop confidence to attack defenders on the offensive end. he has all the physical tools. i think its all just mental. once he sees his childhood friend ben simmons start to dominate, hopefully that will motivate him to realise his potential
Dante Exum 2015 Season Stats : 4.8pts 1.6reb 2.4ast 0.5stl .314 3PFG% 82GP

That will improve. He has upside to spare.

how old is he now?? do i know please!!
+enrico enciso He LITERALLY was playing against high school kids in Australia like 4 months before getting drafted
ok po!salamat nalang!
kinda reminds me of a larger tony parker. would love the spurs to get their hands on him.
Just tore his acl
Lol he is a fucking bust
he played good defense for rookie
Sucks about his injury, he has so much potential
Thanks

He has better chemistry with gobert than anyone else on the team. If he stays on the floor look for gobert to have a monstrous year.
This kid is going to be special.
If he can improve his jumper and get a little stronger this kid has All-Star potential. He's lightning quick, a good passer and has nice length and defensive instincts. It'll probably take him a couple more years to fully mature and adjust to the NBA game but once he's there he'll be a force for years to come.
I like that he sees the floor and a williness to pass to the open man. GG Exum!
very talented but has so much to work on.
- needs a quicker release- his shot is too slow so he can't get it off off the dribble.
- higher release- easy to block and he can't shoot unless wide open

If he feels comfortable with it and can make shots, than its all g
lol stfu
DUDE TALENTED
Was this Dante Exum highlights, or Rudy Gobert? They play with a nice synergy those two
Exum is a beast in 2K tbh lol
Yeahh I thought I was the only one
if Dante gets healthy and improves on his game, we could have the next great NBA duo with him and Gobert
I didnt know he dunked this much wow
fishcatzz he is 6'6 with a poor jumpshot what else he gonna do
Can't shoot a jumper? Then dunk
man his passing is sick tbh
3 things i learned from this, Rudy Gobert is a great lob finisher, Trevor booker is a great passing big, and exum can make spot up threes.
Dante Exum has great basketball IQ. He's got good vision on the floor as well. I think the only thing he needs to work on is his shooting...
Not a great year, did a few good things. As he gets stronger - he will become a very good player.
dannycrankovich yep
I predict that this kid will explode in February 2017 and earn accolades around the association
No he really won't.
ASURAN24 I'm messaging you from Feb 2017 to say you were pretty close. Exum definitely starting to make some noise. No accolades yet but realising his potential again.
He has been really underwhelming so far but has crazy potential.
Dante Exum used to be so good. I guess his legs are still not 100%. I hope his injury is not serious. Left knee tendinitis.
He looks good shooting the ball, when he gets his feet set
can u do a jamal Crawford or if not then lou will
8:39 So what's the deal with New Orleans' defence?
It's a shame for Dante that he didn't play a year in college (good for Jazz though.) wait he has highlights?
AlphaDwg lol ik how did he make 9 minutes of highlights props to the youtuber that's dedication
The OG Lozo ball😂
I saw Kobe Bryant in him. Dante Exum, the next Kobe Bryant.
Hes got the skills but looks too passive. Good athlete too. Just needs some more confidence and a mean streak
What's Exum's potential?
All Star?? Superstar?
KBTITAN-24 I think it's still too early to predict that much. Definitely has the physical tools but I haven't seen much from him, you probably know more about his skill set. I know he can shoot and play make. definitely an interesting piece come fantasy draft night.
I think he can be a solid player. But I don't think he will be a star. Not saying that he can't, but I just don't see it.
I don't usually like to hate on young players because they are so young, but I don't think Exum is very good.
Exactly, been saying that since 2014 draft night.
A Very Hopeful Laker Fan you don't know what you're talking about. they picked him up for his potential. you can't expect an 18 year old to walk in and be all-star calibre.
rfrance223 this dude averaged the same amount of points as dellavedova and he was undrafted your right he has potential but I don't know.
collectorman101 well now that he's torn his ACL his career will change. maybe he'll be a bust. exum was always considered a project anyway, the jazz picked him up for his long-term potential value.
how can you say that after 1 season
The Jazz should got Julius randle
+Easy Rex Why?
+brentisverycool ikr, they got favors already
Welcome to the Spurs
what
Manu
Not a single defensive highlight????
He's got potential, but has so much to learn
+Diego Nieves Absolutely. I'm excited for his development. The defensive end is where he really shines, though, so I'm surprised that this video didn't show any of his stellar defensive plays.
***** Totally agree with you!
Yes there were
In this one video Only one Shot Gobert took wasn't a dunk

Thanks for heads up i was falling asleep
Don't have time to read essays.

Am i the only one who hates utah's jerseys?
Yes
+SHADOW10030 exum would look great in some thowback's
+Diego Nieves Yep.
I think the green ones are some of the dopest jerseys in the league.
no, but the green and purple are ok
His shot is very flat and has no arch at all
Clarkson is better
Lol go home ESPN, you're drunk. No way the Jazz make the playoffs minus Exum.
oh my name is john schmid, I like to use the "you're drunk" insult because I'm retarded and can't think for myself. derp.
Yawn...
looks awkwards not fluid athlete
Good eye, that's a sign of weak bones and ligaments and he tore his ACL
+kwairsoft1999 Yeah, sure you can tell he has weak bones because of his movement haha.... and his movement looks different because of his size and length, it's like Cam Newton at Auburn, he didn't look like he had elite speed and athleticism even though he would regularly outrun the D, just because of how big he was for a QB.
fluid brain for the game though....
This guy was overrated
