Great honest review Bill and thank you for the info and will say that on behalf of all that watch your video. I have single pin picked a cruciform car crook lock quite quick and want to get another couple and see how I get on with them as they are fun to pick so will try visit my local car parts shop where I got it from and see what he has thats different to the one I have. Great review again buddy :o))))
Thanks for the review and had already purchased them before watching it 🙄. Arrived this morning and 3 out of the 5 opened the safe I got them for. I paid £12.03 so I’m impressed for the money.
Thanks for the reviews that you do, I am sticking to the pin tumbler, wafer tumbler and combination locks. I will be 70 this April, and I think I might be pretty good at the above by then, and that would make me happy. DClaus
The Abus Granit Series has in my opinion vulnerabilities but the have their rating so it this is just my opinion (I mean they did get past the test). The Plus series is a disc cylinder like the Protec with 9 discs and sidebar. Not as complicated as the Abloy but a good system. You need special tool to manipulate it. In my opinion the keyway restriction could be better and it is not as secure as the Abloy Protec or the Dom Diamant but still way better then others are!
Were you a police officer or swat member at any point? Watching your tough under fire videos you mentioned things like picking up the firearms at the armory and saying this is what you were issued for your duty weapon or that you were allowed to choose whatever optics you desired. I've watched almost all of your videos but must have missed that, I've just been wondering.
The #LockpickingLawyer must be the person you are referring to, but I have seen these types of keys open multiple locks - and I thank you for telling me about the top quality lock made in the PRC (Or Taiwan?).
I have learned that they requires lots of lube and are not intended for padlocks. I also found out that if you take the time and round all the edges they work better and yes it takes forever to do and you can mess it up. the biggest thing id if the lock has wiggle room with the pick in it then it more then likely will work with enuff lube.
Of course you can get Hefe Weizen pffff... :P We also have a little brewery with their own beet and good German food here! I wanted to go to that place with you :)
You can get around the EXhorbitant shipping by using something like Aliexpress. Many vendors provide free shipping. BUT, you get what you pay for (i.e. even if you see "air mail" it's probably going by ship. The wait is longer but free versus 40 bucks is a huge jump if you are patient. There is also the option to upgrade to DHL or FedEx which is a nice balance between speed and cost.
Hey Rune Bill is right a high quality lock like the Abloy is very hard to crack and even impossible to pick. I love the Abloy padlocks and have a few in my collection I could also do a Review on the PL362 if you would like to see it. I am myself a big fan of the Anchor Las padlocks their quality is excellent and their disc profile is something between Abloy Protec and Abus Plus. Also you can take those apart and they are not that expensive and nearly unpickable. Just let me know mate :)
Still a newbie here. But ran across these on gosolockpicks.com and searched your channel and what do you know? You have tried these. I have a question that encompasses bump keys as well. I know bump keys are normally made with the same spacing as the pin spacing. I have made one so far from an existing key and a junk lock. But what if a bump key was made with more "nibs". Say twice, or an odd number that would line up with the pins much like a vernier scale works. All pins would be hit at a different time, possibly a millisecond apart or something in that nature. IF something like that would work with a standard lock, could that be incorporated in a cross lock bump key as well?
Bosnian! Can you make a review on the Hermex CA-65X? I´ve seen that you can pick most Hermex like butter, but then I was wondering why do you say that this one is actually good quality. I've been wondering if I should use it to lock one of my business gates.
I forget to ask what is according to you the best way to pick cross locks because i have just started with lockpicking i would like some adivce or tips. Greeting Jacob
Chinese quality, or lack thereof ... There is a maxim in engineering: 1.) Quality 2.) Time 3.) Cost When designing a project, you only get to specify two of them. Chinese manufacturers are the same. If you want quality, you have to explicitly specify it and pay accordingly.
Ill watch your movie on the Anchor Las padlocks :D It would be great if considered doing a movie in the PL362, point to any weaknesses and such? its pretty much their flagship, as far as I can tell. Btw, didnt the plus series have a few weaknesses?
the thing is with this type of lock and pick is in the name tryout its cus all you can do is try them out and believe it or not yes I believe you but they do work just not much and are made more for safes and bank vaults and the locks they are made for have a little sider inter diamitor so they can jiggle a little. get a loos fitting lock with no seceirity pins you will find it hase a higher chance of opening that lock. also they do work on cars but not maney cars have that type of lock its not typical and in fact is rare and only in a few contures. sorry for the bad spelling my beyboard is going wak.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't The Club steering wheel lock use this type of key at one time, or do I have it confused with something else? Great video, Bill, keep 'em coming.
Yes I have 2 oversize "club SUV" steering wheel locks that use the 4 side cross lock,it's the only one I have ever seen until now on youtube and I bought those about 11 years ago.I guess the design never caught on in the USA but I bought them because the key looked so different.I also have the original club I think it uses a double sided wafer lock
Oh good, I'm not losing my mind. I remember thinking as a kid that it was a good idea, until I started seeing videos on the news of people just cutting steering wheels apart with hacksaws and just tossing the locked Club aside... :D
I hoped that these wouldn't work and also thought "these can't work.... or? No way..." I only have my antique cruciform don't know if you have seen that video mate.
@bosnianbill The seller from DHGate sent me them by accident. They probably make better throwing-darts than picks. We shoud maybe do some cross-pick-darts contest xD
Update: If anyone is interested in these, mainly the ones on the left, they are available from www.dx.com and a set of 5 is $17.79 with free shipping to the US. They have others as well.
What a load of shite, and $65 too!! Fuck... you can get 2-in-1picks for these in 3 different sizes (which come as a set) for about half that and I've seen those work a treat. Good info bill, cheers!

Of course! They work well as bump keys but the plastic portion is fragile and will break quickly. You need to be careful with them.
Thanks for the breakdown brother, wont be wasting my money on a product that doesnt work. Great video!

You don't mention what you want it for but a couple of safe choices for either door locks or padlocks are Medeco and Mul-T-Lock.
I have seen it & tried to talk you out of that beautiful Zeiss lock, remember? Wanna trade it yet?

Thanks alot! Now also wathcing his movies, after watching pretty close to every movie you put up :D
they work the same way as auto jinglers you have be a little ruff on the lock but they work.

Can you try bumping with these?

would you consider reviewing a really high quality padlock? Thats close to unpickable? Im thinking maybe some of the new abloys if you got them?
Como ago para pedir el producto o comprarlo?
Awesome video Bill ! My wife only allows me to spend $30 per week on a case of beer, not $60 . . . Lol
$30.00 buys you a decent case or beer my friend!!!

I only have my antique cruciform don't know if you have seen that video mate.
I dont think i have ever seen a x lock, i had a cylinder key a while back, probably for a big padlock
@bosnianbill The seller from DHGate sent me them by accident. They probably make better throwing-darts than picks. We shoud maybe do some cross-pick-darts contest xD
Uhm now I remember sorry mate!
It is the only one I have... BUT I will try to get one for you mate, maybe someone I know has a spare.
thats a lot of money for something that dont work, i've only come across a few of these locks but i just used a snake rake or half diamond on them ;)
