Fun fact! Only the middle crop needs to be fully grown to grow a giant crop (at least in the base game)
It can become giant with one full grown plant and 8 seeds surrounding it if your luck was good enough. You don’t have to water the outside ones at all I believe. Though this is based on BlaDe’s video, can’t remember which one though…

Did you know that only the middle crop needs to be fully grown? So the best way is to grow the middle crop and then place seeds around it and then sleep

You need a mod to grow giant crops like these. In vanilla there is only one crop per season capable of going giant, and it's a rare and unpredictable event. But yes! Get that mod and enjoy those giants if you want them!
