So I am overly tried of people shitting on him, and the band. Yes, they're a Christian Rock band. But does that mean every song is about God? NO. It's about whatever you want it to be. I'm not religious, yet I adore them. They have a unique style, and sound to them. Hell, even if you don't like John's vocals, the instrumentals are amazing in of themselves. Don't hate on a band you've never given a chance to.

I know another Christian Metal Band, they make pretty good music, too. And trust, they actually make some PRETTY heavy songs. They're called Demon Hunter. Some of their songs were in Killing Floor 2.

Met John at a few festivals between '99 and '01. They were a 3 piece grunge band back then with an original sound and original songs. Then as the years went by, they became more and more commercial and bland. Once they toured with Three Days Grace, it was completely over, as everything they've done since has just been a clone of what TDG did before. I honestly can't stand Skillet now. They are the epitome of what rock has never been about.

Skillet has none of that, they are a early 2000s christian rock band that had jumped on the Three Days Grace\Breaking Benjamin style of safe, radio rock pop metal that has long since been played out but since it was the last style of rock to make a profit before illegal downloading ruined everything, rock bands are still playing that dated formula because it's the only way for those mindless 3DG/BB fans to get their attention.
Beckonor, Skillet is from the late 90s. They used to play Marilyn Manson type industrial synth Rock before "playing it safe". They've always gone with the flow of what's trendy.
Sincerely their "rockest" albums are Skillet and collide, besides collide is in the edge of metal or grunge maybe... But not comatose, I meam all their albums are great but their heaviest are Collide and Skillet
All those saying Skillet are not rock band look at their live shows,omgggg... I know almost all of their albums have 1or 2 pop or ballad songs but even lots of Burzum album have that one non-metal song (but evil) Take Unleashed for example, it ranges from pop to rock to Metal, and the bands majority songs are all rock.... They even bring lots of fans to Rock and Metal music even me. They are a mainstream rock band which proofs that they are one of the bands that keep rock alive, unlike Linkin Park....sadly.
