It's been about 3months since I stopped using seasoning cubes. I never knew I could 'cook/live' without it. Sometimes my meals are bland 🙈🙈 but I am getting better. I know it is a healthy choice. Thanks for this video.

Thank you for doing this video.
I cut off Maggi and it's brothers, sisters and cousins a long time ago and I replaced it with pink Himalayan salt which contains over 80 minerals that's our body needs vs the high level of sodium from msg that retains water and hence inflammation. When my parents came to visit from Cameroon, I cooked for them for at least a month before telling them there was no Maggi in the food. My mom had to watch me to me sure lol. My dad's prostate psa went down (after 4 months of healthy choice foods and no msg) from 4000 to 300. They took a lot of pink Himalayan salt to Cameroon but when they ran out mom went back to Maggi but cut it off to half of her regular use. I wish she would cut it off completely.
There are plenty of No-MSG seasoning but we have to do our own research.
Most people that visit me don't know there is no Maggi in my food until after they eat and I tell them lol...and the chop di still sweeeeeet!!! Lol. That was a funny bit😂
Please do a video on pink Himalayan salt. The benefits are enormous. I have the energy of a gorilla most of the time and I want to put it in a bottle and sell it. Lol (well because I combine it with plant based whole and super foods).
Thank you for your videos and yayy to 500 subscribers 💃💃👍🤩

I stopped eating Maggie cube but I miss it!!!!! 😭
What made me actually give it up is a comment I saw on the internet. “ does it mean that our hundreds of spices in the market don’t have enough flavor if there is no maggi ???”

I use it for the convenience, but will try to cut down on it.
I use onions, garlic, carrots, and sundried tomatoes as a base if I want more flavor, there are other vegetables you can use as well. Lemon also adds a nice touch, as well as salt, herbs and other spices

Start using bayleaf, thyme, marjoram, basil, the scotch bonnet has wonderful flavour, as do onions and garlic, you need to wean off of the Maggi, you're addicted to the effect it is having on your body rather than any flavour it is giving. Learn your herbs and spices, it will be a great new adventure.

This is such a helpful video thank you for doing the research and for explaining the benefits of using natural herbs and spices versus the many msg substitutes. My family is half West Indian and has always made us read the ingredient to pick out what we should not be using m. I must admit as a first generation American, I bend the rules sometimes and use them 🤐🤐🤐

Books can be written by a lot of people. And doctors are not infallible.
I am half ways with you- I do think that the overuse of bouillon cubes is alarming in (West?) Africa.
    But it isn’t the msg.
Look - msg is part of a lot of delicious things - tomatoes, mushrooms, cheese, fermented foods. And the msg in these natural food is chemically not at all different than in isolated form!
There are a lot of studies which totally exonerate msg of any health adverse effects.
However - it is basically giving us a path to unhealthy food. The other ingredients in stock cubes? Well some aromas (veggies, meat extract etc) but also salt and hydrolyzed fats (now we are coming closer to the real culprits) and often even sugar! And most unhealthy food has msg combined with these unhealthy ingredients - hence we are training ourselves and our families to eat unhealthy…
I am really surprised to say that, but in case of the dominant Nigerian cuisine, I would rather suggest to use pure msg instead of stock cubes (if people cannot really not use just salt and natural spices).
What I do: I blend salt, kombu (kelp algae) and dried shiitake mushrooms and sieve it through a fine strainer and use that. Kombu and mushrooms have a combination of glutamates and inosinates - a combination which makes the umami effect 8x stronger - but it is all natural and unprocessed!

It's been years I stopped cooking with these cubes after knowing all these information, I use ginger/ garlic curry/thyme and salt, believe me I have not regretted it.
Use enough ingredients like meats of your choice, onions, ginger and garlic etc your food will taste delicious 😋 👌.

I agree. The tongue can be trained. I stopped using Maggi for cooking in my house about three years ago. I use seasoned salt, crayfish and Adobo all purpose seasoning which I was happy to discover does not have MSG. But when I have to cook for people from my community, I use it for the food... sika I no want make person say my chop no sweet. 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️Silly thing to do. I know. 😃😃

I just took upon myself to cook vegetables without salt and maggi unordered to enjoy the real vegetable taste.. Today, I have learned the reason why I should cut off completely.
Another interesting thing i learned in the video "The tongue can be trained".. People usually ask me how I eat vegetables without salt and maggi and my answer is usually "because I love the real taste. Now I got a better answer. The tongue can be trained. Thank you coach for your educative videos.
