He's said only him and a few others in his inner circle know what vs13 truely was. I wanna know the behind the scenes drama too. It'd be a juicy read. My guess is the reason nomura hadn't spilled the beans is cause he's waitin' for the right time to do it.

"Final Fantasy Versus XV, an alternate take on Final Fantasy XV" doesn't sound like a very difficult marketing pitch, truth be told
Yeah, they could do 2 versions in an enventual reboot. Like they remake FFXV with the story we've got in 2016, but this time the whole story, no hole plot. And then, once we finished that story with all DLC we should have gotten years ago, we play Versus story, called as Versus XV, Nomura's vision. FFXV has so much potential that they could even get better critics and better sells as well than in 2016 if they ever reboot or remake this game with nowadays platforms.
@@zenar30I think what they should really do is just expand the 15 universe with a versus 15 'spin-off' developed by Nomura that rewrites the story of xv as it currently stands. Honestly it wouldnt look too bizzare from a consumer perspective and it would fit into the 15 brand neatly from a marketing perspective, while also serveing to keep it alive in general.

I'd like to think that Nomura is so into the "many worlds" theory that he actually made FF Versus XIII and released it in another world.

If you read Dawn of the Future, Versus-13 was mentioned as an alternate possibility to the events of 15. Meaning it exists.
I remember reading this game magazine featuring FFXIII and Versus XIII back in the middle of 2K6 before the PlayStation 3 came out, only FFXIII came out for PS3, Versus XIII became the 15th installment of FF for PS4 ten years later
when will people realize that Nomura doesn't have a plan, he just has cool scenes in his head he wants to make real, damn the rest of it.

I’m playing FF13 right now as I watch this video. I have finished FF1-10, 10-2, 12, 7 Remake/Rebirth, Crisis Core and 16 all with the platinum trophy ever since I started my FF journey last May.
I’m really liking FF13. Right now I’m grinding CP in Chapter 11. Currently sitting at 800k per character. Just getting ready for when I need the CP.

@@max_endourance I played the FF14 trial last March and I loved it then I decided to play the entire series before going all out on FF14.
Enjoy! 8 and 9, 12 are all great on their own way. If you take on the pixel remasters, 4 & 6 are really enjoyable.

Wjen vs XIII was announced i was in the hospital recovering from peritonitis. My mum bought me some magazines, and there it was. There wasn't much info about it, but i knew i wanted the game so bad. I got obsessed with it, every few months i would look for info about it, see if there were any news. So many years but having anything was torture until it was announced by Nomura himself in an E3 that the game was becoming XV. I was so excited. The the final product came out, but Nomura wasn't in it anymore... The game was cool and good and all, but it wasn't what we were promised. It felt like a mascara posing as what many years of development told us it was going to be... I reqlly hope some day we can actually see the story Nomura wanted to tell us

It should be recalled as Versus XV, as an alternative universe of the game we played in XV and be relleased. Now they have everything they needed back then to make it real. It's on us to keep making noise about it and get them to finally release it. At least we can dream about it, jeje

Reynatis comes from the latin "renatus", which can mean "birth" or "rebirth". In spanish it can mean birth of king. So the title means "Born King".
Take me back to 2008, 2009...i watched the trailer over and over again!
Let's not forget about Lost Soul Aside, which was inspired by Versus XIII if I remember correctly.

Imagine all of the projects that you mentioned in this video will all lead up to the revival of Versus XIII? We're certainly gonna be bringing back Noctis, Gladiolus, Prompto, Ignis, and Stella back in Kingdom Hearts 4, given the Verum Rex characters are all pretty much the Nobody versions of themselves (as stated at the end of Re:Mind), and with TWEWY Canon towards Reynatis, Nomura is trying to put all of the SE properties into one Universe together. I just want these games to come out very quickly for Story purposes.
No... they are not "Nobody" versions of those characters. I'm not sure how ReMind gave you that interpretation because it and the cutscenes in Melody of Memory state that they and their world are on a whole different plane of existence that the KH cast would consider as "fiction". Then the KH4 trailer tells us that Quadratum is like an afterlife for people from Sora's side. You don't die when you become a nobody, by the way. Nomura also stated that Quadratum is not connected to TWEWY in the slightest.

Also, nobody is saying about TWEWY being connected towards Quadratum, LMFAOOOOOOOOOO. This is more towards Reynatis that will EVENTUALLY be connected towards Quadratum in the near future. It seems to me that YOU'RE the one that's not getting the idea of the Story.

For me it's less letting Versus 13 go and more letting the original vision of 15 go. The one from the original E3 Trailer. With Levithans fight being basically a big action set piece dungeon navigating flying rubbel.
THAT game still haunts my dreams. Not a day goes by where iam not thinking how they could have fixed the story and what that gameplay would have worked like.
Honestly if Versus XIII came out like it intended, I feel Square Enix as a company would be very different today.

When I saw the older trailers for FF15, I was very fascinated on what ideas they had. Like it seemed more of a dream theme. I think there was one cinematic left in the game related to were Noct was having a nightmare but it didn't connect with the story. I presume it was left in as to hint on what could had been.
Noctis asleep during the trailers would transport him to the land of the dead I think, with Noctis saying to Stella in the 2013 trailer “there are things I just know and have no idea how” I think that points to the fact that he knows things from his sleep that others can’t know or see

Fam I had to stop the video just to say that Noctis is now a whole genre of characters was perfectly said! Noctis is a multiverse. I’m sure you would agree NSP, Noctis is the most bad ass main thus far! I get goosebumps every time I summon up those final fantasy versus xiii vibes from that era. I was a junior in hs at the time. It was a great time to be an FF fan but I agree it really does need to be addressed properly like I want a shot for shot play for play versus xiii with alternate Noctis timelines and a whole multiverse type sheeit boii! Lol

I always thought the FF7 Remake series was the realization of the Versus Trilogy concept. Insomnia as the first game, Midgar as the first game, an open world concept for the second game, the return to the city and end of the story in the third.
Love this video, I am still a big advocate for a final fantasy xv reboot as you mentioned, would make fans who suffered the loss of versus xiii/xv being changed satisfied. Verum rex and reynatis are definitely inspired by it as well as lost soul aside that being said I don't think any of them will be exactly "versus xiii" but with Nomura and Nojima clinging onto these ideas its very well possible from there showing of versus xiii inspirations and concepts that square enix revives the original versus xiii and makes it its own separate entity from xv

His whole aesthetic for ff being realistic with just that smidge of magic is still so cool. When this vs revenge tour is all over I want to see one more game from Nomura!
My only gripe with reynatis is how ugly it looks :/ I understand that the switch will get them more sales so it's the best platform to release the game on but damn it's going to run inconsistently and the animations are some of the worst i've seen in a modern video game. I think if they had the budget to hire like 3 extra animators the game would be so much more exciting, even though I'm still pretty excited!

I can remember it like it was yesterday! That was my game of the year for my PS3! I remember I would try to stay updated with the game every second as soon as the pre orders went up! Just waiting or it to get announced with a release date! JUST WAITING! I PERSONALLY didn't mind FFXV. I still enjoyed it, for what it was. And no lie, XV is one of my favorites in the series. I PERSONALLY wouldn't mind seeing Noctis and the boys return again someday! MAAAAAYBE a cameo in Kingdom Hearts? Who knows? But with all that being said, Versus XIII will NEVER be forgotten! And it's great to see other projects and fans will always keeps its spirit alive! Also, Nomura better give us that book summary on the development story on Versus XIII. I NEED DETAILS DAMNIT!

Ohhh gosh I would would.sooop love it if Tetsuya wrote.a book on everything that happened. I would so buy it. I had heard that development began way back in 2003 for the PS2 initially. Not sure if it's factual or not..However, I would love to know of their is in-game play footage of Versus XIII during it's early stages maybe around 2006-2007? or more game play footage from the 2011 1st Production Trailer qhoch to this day, looks amazingly stunning. So much detail and photo realism. After all the blood, sweat and tears Tetsuya and his team put into this, only to have it discarded, his anger is justified. I hope he writes a book on the topic someday.

Whats to stop them making their original vision Versus 13 game? And also tying it into the 13 series? They could also release the 13 trilogy in a remaster too so its all playable to modern audiences on modern hardware.

I remember people saying that FF 15, at the time, was going to be the last Final Fantasy around launch, There's no doubt in my mind that, this rumor or statement played a factor in driving sales up. Because what was promised vs what was delivered were two COMPLETELY diffrent things. It being the third highest selling while simultaneously being one of the WORST false promises I have ever been sold to this day is staggering. Some of us remember what this game was like at launch after a 10 year dev cycle....I had never been more disappointed in final fantasy.
Nomura couldn't write a coherent story to save his life, I don't think much of value was lost

His work on KH4 will lead him to make Verim Rex a real thing. If i recall some years ago, that he had wanted to work on a verum rex title before KH4, but gelt that he needed to establish the world and characters properly before he could do that, so he is using KH4 as a vehichle to introduce the world of verim rex before he moves on to making it a real thing.
I didn't enjoy XV but both Kindgom Hearts IV and this new game you are talking about have me excited. TWEWY too?!

With level editor, XV could've been the next Skyrim with how much asset the game has and with support of the modding community, sadly it got canceled.
So i just had a thought occur to me. The equiping of 3 keyblade weapon switch that we could do in Kingdom Hearts 3 seems like it could’ve been a mechanic Nomura wanted to try in the Original Versus XIII early demos. Noctis could get assist from his companions similar to Sora if we press triangle/green command. Noctis would be able to use a focus drive like Sora to teleport to his enemies or shotlock. In toy story we get to operate the giant toy robots which Nomura had a few mechanics behind it from Versus XIII. The sliding on blizzard’s ice trail reminds me of how he wanted Noctis to interact with magic and its environment, or using aeroga to perform flowmotion how Noctis will do a lot of aerial combat, or leaping off enemies. OMG are the game mechanics in Kingdom Hearts 3 what Nomura wanted in Versus XIII?! So many thoughts more are occuring! The game mechanics is probably a clue to how Verum Rex or how Versus XIII would have played like!
If you go back to before Dream Drop Distance released, there was an interview with Nomura where he basically said any gameplay mechanics he couldn't put in Versus, he'd put in Kingdom Hearts.
I’ve latched onto versus XIII, without a doubt. It just came at a time in my life where I was still in my later formative years. It will always hold mysteries and intrigue. When I first saw the similarities I was knew immediately. I hope he does write that book!!!
Versus xiii is to this day still a twenty year myth, legend, inspiration and idea of a story not fully told. The remnants are their if you look, but i don't think well ever truly know. Only way it could ever be is through a book ironically like 15

20 years, no wayyyyy!!! Crazy and also yes still can't let Versus go. It looked like one of the best things ever. KH without Disnep is what I call it.
I've played the FF series since the early 90s and I have, to this date, never been as hyped for a FF game as I was for FF Versus XIII.
While I agree this is could be very promising for the possibility of finally pushing Square to make and release the true Verses XIII, I fear all the knock-off content will eventually leave nothing for the actual parent project should it come to that. By that point we'll already be over-saturated with the edgy hipster boyband, the modern real-world city aesthetic, the romantic duality between The Darkness & The Starlight, and all that happy horseshit. I actually low-key don't want that. I would want to play the actual Versus XIII and have my mind blown instead of going "Oh, it's this element...", "Oh, so this is where that other game got this part from..."
TLDR; I would rather experience the actual Verses XIII instead of having a blown-up genre in its stead.
The crossover with TWEWY is simply the next step to the crossover with KingdomHearts, like heartless and nobody, the two halves of vXIII comes together to become the original once more

Hopefully the switch version isn't what the game visually will look like on PS5, I haven't yet to see gameplay for it running on PS5. That being said I been preordered the game.

there is a theory that VERUM REX can be tied to FABULA NOVA CRYSTALIS and Kingdom Hearts 3 scenes are not just easter eggs.
----In japanese version of Lightning Returns Final Fantasy XIII there are some differences in japanese version. When Lightning faces Bhunivelse "she actually says you took over his soul, but what did you do with his heart" in eng dub "it was just body and soul". FABULA NOVA CRYSTALIS establish same concept of heart sould and body, it was just in japanese dub
----- same with fact that Lightning reincarnates in world similiar to modern day Japan at the very end
----- Quadratum being city of the dead, is obvious nod to ETRO goddess of death
Lightning might return again in Kingdom Hearts ;) and be guide to lore, considering when she reincarnated she still had her memories
