Are you enjoying Lucy?
Amazing video! So informative! Thank you for the post!~
Hello Emily, thank you for taking time to subscribe and watch our channel. We appreciate the kind words and time you took to share. Wishing you safe and happy travels ahead.
As a 76 year old woman when you do your videos, you make me want to have an echo my bucket list which has three items on it now with the echo, I truly believe even at my age but maybe not with my disability I could install these things that you talk about. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to the next one and I love your adventures.
@@trishamorris2085 thanks for the kind comment and for Checking out our video/channel.
The EKKO are pretty amazing vehicles even with some of the quirks.
Ok, you have me convinced. Great video. Without a lift kit on my EKKO, I do t think I’ll fit under there as easily. I also assume we sacrifice just a bit of ground clearance for the protection? Thanks for the heads up in that plastic intercooler pipe under there!
Hello Richard, I honestly 100% highly highly recommend a skid plate for any vehicle.
I’ll actually take a measurement and try to determine how much ground clearance it really does come in to play with.
Interestingly enough, if I was to guess I would say it’s no more than 5/8 to 3/4 of an inch.
Very good install video. Could you put nut on the bottom, incase it gets loose, you only need to replace a nut and washer?
🤔 Seems logical, I’ll have to check that one out. Thank you for checking out our channel and video as well.
Jason: Outstanding video! Thanks for helping me spend more money on my Ekko. Have you heard of any issues with changing the oil filter? How easy is it to remove the inspection plate? You did not show cutting the plastic wind dam. It is straightforward? When do you think you will have the skid plate offered on your website? Thanks again and Michelle does very nice job on the camera work.
John, it’s great to hear from you.
Thank you for the compliment.
There is no issues with changing the oil filter. I’ll include a picture of how accessible it is. It’s just a few Allen screws and everything’s expose.
I had already previously cut the plastic Wind dam but it is super straightforward. You could use a Dremel, a multi tool, or a mini grinder and it’s done within seconds to minutes.
We just posted it on our website. Thanks for asking.
And I’ll let Michelle know of the great compliment on the camera work. I have to admit it’s a skill set I don’t have.
By the way, how have you been? How have your travels been going? And did you get some of the other things completed on yours?
Just posted to the Fb group a short video. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@ekkonesters599 Thanks Jason. I got the new steps installed and they work great. We have been doing some trips. We were in Sisters a few weeks back and just returned from the Rouge River. We have a 10-day trip planned to Flat Head Lake, MT other than that just hanging in the NW. Hope to connect with you someday.
have you had any issues with overheating? I hear the skid plates dont allow for proper ventilation. Thanks for the vid!
Hello, Thanks for checking out our video. I can’t speak for any other brands in respect to the skid plate, but we’ve not experienced any issues with the skid plate in any respect. There is plenty of ventilation allowing airflow through the lower areas of the engine and transmission. Of all the ones we’ve sold through our website, www.adventurenesters.com we have not had any issues either.
We’ve also traveled in 112 degree F temps without any issues running the AC full power.
Thanks for the info!
