Wouldn't Darkflow just make that the new Tier 5 mortar and the current one would be moved down to tier 3? Like.... we got 3 inch motors at tier 1, and then it goes up to 83mms or so. So a 120-155mm Motar at tier 5 would make sense.
As a Japanese main I play mortars a lot in low BR because irl Japan basically used their type 89s as much as their light machine guns. I find that Pacific maps especially the Tenaru river map is really good for mortars because it’s tiered
I just got an engineer in my first mortar squad so i can build basic defences to protect the mortar if needed and more importantly i can build ammo for my mortar now. I will get a second mortar soldier next i think. Im levelling up the first axis mortar squad. I find it useful to equip mortar soldiers with shovels rather than knives etc so they can dig a hole to hide in while firing the mortar. Good vid
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS! God leveling Mortar squads is a royal pain in the ass. But through persistence iv managed to not only max out the squad XP bonus but get both Mortar men and a Engineer for ammo boxes. Won't lie though, it certainly helps when your team actually bothers to use their SPOTTING KEY/BUTTON! Generally speaking I ether hit nothing or I get a triple kill at best with the 3 inch motor. Occasionally killing a low tier tanks with them, open top tanks are particularly vulnerable.
@@HNTR308 True, but does the supply crate BRAKE like the ammo boxes do when resupplying the Mortor? I mean I can get like 6 ammo boxes out of an engineer, thats ALOT of motor shells. I would assume ordering that box doesn't take up the Artillery bombardment.
@@jaywerner8415 yes it brake, but doesn’t matter. You brake one and order a new one, then you have 30 sec to send your 12 Mortar shots. You have like that infinite shots and can shot non stop. You don’t need the arty call in this case.
Btw sadly I cant make a clanwar video anymore, as the replay files were deleted. next time a big match is being played, I'll release the report instantly!
If the distance works, on attack first objective, I run to 100m away set up and insta-fire so I don't have to fiddle with aiming for my first couple of shots. Works great.
The worst part of mortar relates to the marking keybind on the right click and people not having map knowledge Sometimes I notice random explosions around when building something on the flanks, without receiving damage. So cursed
Just guess where the enemies are and place a marker on your mini map. I played a match using this tactic and got about 50 kills using 1 mortarman. Its great if used correctly.
They are great for first spawns on the attack, especially when it’s an open cap, spawn in, start dropping rounds on the point when it’s very populated.
I really really wish you could order all mortars in the squad to barrage fire at the same time....indirect fire vehicles could be brutal....lets not forget the Type 98 320mm mortar for japan.....seriously japan has 14 or more mortars from this time period very usefull for Island fighting..they even had an AA mine discharger.
Using motars for defence on d-day maps as germans... the allies are forced through several choke points. After the first objective is taken, the seawall becomes a funnel.
I would add - if you have under 48h in the game, you won't have enough map knowledge to use mortar squad at effect. Only once you know the main pathways / possible spawns does it hurt the enemy. Had to deal with one veteran mortar spammer and it was borderline unplayable. A good player with mortar purely on map knowledge can make the game and theres nothing you can do about it. The mortar in itself is low skill weapon, but map knowledge and reading the game tempo thru your team mate positioning pretty much reveals enemy location. Don't even need pings.
In video, you first shoot tank with HE shell what is OK but than with smoke shells, what is not effective. 1-2 rounds will block its view, but more is not effective.
Hi, I wanted to ask which land is the best, I am an aggressive player but I also like to play on high mid range and I like to play in buildings that is why I have an aggressive play style

I think they should add a heavy mortar like a 120mm one that engineers in the mortar squads could build.

Yep.. sounds useful

Ah, yes, the worst part.
Leveling the squad to get an engineer xD
Radio Man is better than Engineer. With Radio Man you can order Suplies every 30sec.
With engineers you have only limited ammo boxes.

A great squad used them alot in the old Stalingrad Campaign. With tier 1 locked to play tier 1 the mortar square becomes a lot more viable.

it sounds like the game audio is coming from your speakers and being picked up via mic

Japan needs their BR V mortar. The 81mm infantry mortar would be perfect. I don't know why DF didn't give them one.
Wow, I was thinking earlier today when you would put this guide out! I remember awhile back you said you were working on it lol.
Please turkish subtitles 🙏
Japan faction's mortar squad is missing heavy mortar. It would be great if the game dev add one more mortar tool for Japan in game.

We need a better ui for mortars like in bf1 or something
I use mortars only in paratroopers squad

germany/soviets are perfect picks. germany overall better, as germans have twice as many maps to play
Thx

Every time I use motor squad I get like 20 kills (br2). Not hard 2 use
My least favourite Squad.
