This is something I've always thought and still do. I mean, this game is talent based because in order to teach you, they have already discovered all this stuff by themselves. So, I believe proplayers are purely talented (even though getting to high elos like Master or GM do not require talent, but dedication)
16:25 That's a key takeaway for me personally, that's how I could easily hit Top 200 consistently in Battlerite, which is basically 100% Micro until the very highest levels of the game, at which point it is still around 80-90% Micro game) but couldn't reach any rank worth mentioning in League.

@@d4s0n282 i got to 500lp, tried roa on kassadin for good 20-30 games but i dont like it at all sadly. hoped for it to be a banger and it actually feels pretty mediocre. only good with conqueror into 4 bruiser/tank comp. other than that everfrost/ludens still superior for burst and earlier spikes

It can still work if the enemy is squishy and you are sole AP. I just don't value the early damage it gives for the COST of the mythic. I prefer the cheaper mythic and utility I get from Crown-->lich
Such a strong champion. I really enjoy the amount of impact you have in the game as viktor with your huge range and your lazer which lets face it its unnavoidable there is little counterplay to viktor if you position properly you can finish games with 0-2 deaths

I remember in your Lucian mid guide, you mentioned how one of Lucian's greatest strengths is his flexibility with items but ever since the item rework, I think a lot of Lucian's flexibility has been lost. much earlier this year i was pretty much only playing Viktor Mid, all inning on a burst identity with ludens, lich bane, electrocute, etc. after taking a break for a couple months now i'm back and it'll be interesting to see if i have to relearn how viktor plays fights and trades with a changed meta and rune/build setups, or if i can still play the way i was used to back at the beginning of the year (pre durability patch and etc. changes to the game since then)

I’ve been taking futures market over biscuits since nerf and you don’t need dmats to one shot casters at 7. However, putting 2 dmats on melee allows you to one shot at lv 5 while still clearing casters at 7 with absolute focus and gathering storm.

My biggest prob lately is when I lock in Cass mid I feel I can’t influence bot as well early on as other champs and idk since I got Gold 2 and started playing gold 1 / plat I noticed my lack of agency / ability to roam bot quickly is leading to a lot of games were my bot are just getting smoked. Whether it’s in the 2v2 or the mid is an assassin and roams I haven’t had many winning bot lanes
Hey. Can I get your opinion regarding the fact that Pekin Woof said in his recent video that he is never actually thinking during the game, waves, and jungle tracking etc, never even did. He also said that he never reviewed his games. But he consistently reaches challenger anyway. Is that just cause he is an intuitive type of player? Or can you actually beat most players without going through the journey that midlane academy teaches? Or it's just talent

Hi Curtis, thanks so much for this!! I'm Gold 3 on OCE currently and mainly playing Viktor right now, and don't think I know what to do /once/ I've got a lead. I think I'm pretty consistent at my level at pushing enemy out of lane, even solokilling them, getting early cs leads and using prio to rotate to early skirmishes and turn them in my favor. But after that I get lost. Should I stay mid and continue to exert pressure? Should I match my opponent sidelane? Move into the jungle? What if the enemy bot lane moves mid, often backed by the whole team and tries to threaten me? I feel like I lose a lot of early tempo because I'm so clueless and indecisive about what to do in the mid game to hold or even extend my lead. Is there another video where you answer this? In any case, thank you for all the content it's been so helpful!

First strike against opponents that cant take it away, aery against opponents who can or u need better trading in lane. If someone hits u while ur first strike is up they strip u of it. If u have any other questions lmk ill try to help

Hi Curtis I've recently picked up Olaf and Irelia, I usually build Olaf very damage-heavy Shieldbow, Collector deaths oath lord Dominik and the last depends on what I need like IE, Thornmail, BotRK. I haven't ranked up yet but I'm slowly climbing and having great cs/objective damage compared to usual. My problem is understanding WHAT to do. Okay, I'm fed but do I take dragon baron/he3rald tp bot to down that tower? I really struggle to just figure out what to do If their jungle is dead I lean towards dragons/barons but otherwise I feel like I fall into this split-push tunnel vision. How do i practice because sometimes I review my matches and I know okay well I'm not supposed to be here but where SHOULD I be, even when reviewing I don't really know.

As for builds and setups. I typically rotate between aery and FS. Aery only when i really need to dominate early. FS -->MF->FM->cosmic with secondary sorcery for manaflow/transdence. This might change since scorch buffs and with early game pace pikcing up, so i might experiment more with Aery and scorch in certain faster paced matchups As for builds, I LOVE crown-->lichbane , but alternate between that and the liandrys-->Cosmic drive Ludens-->shadowflame also can work if you are versing a squishy comp but try them all out and see what works for you

How Do I acutally improve Past GM level? This is where I'm currently at and your videos usually end at around that Target (Well this one does for example). Is getting past this level something that requires a totally different way of coaching?
hey coach I'm trying to climb to gold from bronze/silver borderline and am going to take the game more seriously. I used to play these champions like irelia/akali which will nver cause me to improve, so I've switched to ahri and since switching I've been on a 9 game long winstreak with her. I want to expand my champion pool slightly further. Who is best to climbing? Should a champion be chosen which covers the weaknesses of ahri? For example should I make my second champion vex who does better into some of these dashing assassin champions that can do well against ahri? I am not sure who to choose out of the victor, orianna, vex, etc, especially with a mindset towards choosing the champion who will enable me to improve
good video but you really need to fix having stuff like your watermark over chat when explaining communication between teammates and the text over items when explaining those items
Well, it definitely is viable, I just feel like the extra damage I get from Ludens doesn't outweigh the utility I get from Crown-->lichbane. I think Ludens is still good when the enemy is squishy and when you are sole AP though
12:13 Liandry + Cosmic Drive is SO GOOD, gives you so much CDR and self peel (Q shield + speed, W, consistent slow with 3rd evolution) which obviously translate great sustained damage. It's very useful if the enemy team has too many bruisers and tanks (wu, trundle, ornn, thresh, leona, etc) and you think you are going to be dived and chased in every teamfight. TBH I feel sometimes Liandry is the way to go every game, unless you REALLY need that Ludens + Lichbane burst.
felt the same for ahri - knowing my dps EXACLTY - cdr- and idk it felt so much easier to 'carry' a game from these positions even if team goes 0 10 and if your bot goes 10 0 - it also works XDD

I think there's also just simple tethering skill, look at Chovy playing, he's just going to dominate games from his mechanics alone sometimes. certainly it's important to learn this stuff, but that's kind of oversimplifying it.
Yep that is a fundamental of Viktor, hence why I cover it first. Your ability to tether and use your E well is MASSIVE. The other 'game micro' stuff is too hard to cover in this video and should be assumed knowledge for high elo climbing
I started this game in S6 and really only climb to gold and quit but this time I want to get to plat. I played Viktor after the nerf in s7 when no one played him and still got gold. Nowadays he's strong but I'm pretty bad with him for some reason. I don't die to ganks and I get cs and control my lane so it's near but not under my tower all the time but yet I still lose a lot. I shove it if the laner roams but I just get flamed by the team for not "following the roam". I ping 20 times mia but no one cares about it. I'm not blaming the team, I'm just wondering what do I do in these situations.
I watched your video and it was interesting, but I don't understand why every1 on youtube who teaches ppl thinks that people in Bronze and Silver don't know the game or the champions basics and fundamentals. The thing is in low elo the game is much more TEAM DEPENDANT. I can be the best Viktor player ever if my TOP is AFK, my bot lane just fed the enemy adc. The jungler never comes to gank etc. So all the basics and fundamentals doesn't matter at all. we know it, but still losing games. I was hard stuck bronze till yesterday night since Season 10. I was extremely lucky and I had 10 wins out of 11 games so I could finally get to Silver 4. I was playing good too, 3 times MVP and I got 2 S as well. I play Viktor mid / Nautilus support. And I don't know how I can climb higher right now, although I know that on my Viktor and my Nautilus I should be on Gold /Plat lvl. But it seems impossible due to the fact I just explained.
I used to think videos like this would help me climb. Then after losing to smurfs in my promo games I realised I would never climb and now just troll and int all my games, just like smurfs :D

How Do I acutally improve Past GM level? This is where I'm currently at and your videos usually end at around that Target (Well this one does for example). Is getting past this level something that requires a totally different way of coaching?
hey coach I'm trying to climb to gold from bronze/silver borderline and am going to take the game more seriously. I used to play these champions like irelia/akali which will nver cause me to improve, so I've switched to ahri and since switching I've been on a 9 game long winstreak with her. I want to expand my champion pool slightly further. Who is best to climbing? Should a champion be chosen which covers the weaknesses of ahri? For example should I make my second champion vex who does better into some of these dashing assassin champions that can do well against ahri?
I am not sure who to choose out of the victor, orianna, vex, etc, especially with a mindset towards choosing the champion who will enable me to improve

Well, it definitely is viable, I just feel like the extra damage I get from Ludens doesn't outweigh the utility I get from Crown-->lichbane.
I think Ludens is still good when the enemy is squishy and when you are sole AP though

12:13 Liandry + Cosmic Drive is SO GOOD, gives you so much CDR and self peel (Q shield + speed, W, consistent slow with 3rd evolution) which obviously translate great sustained damage.
It's very useful if the enemy team has too many bruisers and tanks (wu, trundle, ornn, thresh, leona, etc) and you think you are going to be dived and chased in every teamfight.
TBH I feel sometimes Liandry is the way to go every game, unless you REALLY need that Ludens + Lichbane burst.
felt the same for ahri - knowing my dps EXACLTY - cdr- and idk it felt so much easier to 'carry' a game from these positions even if team goes 0 10
and if your bot goes 10 0 - it also works XDD

I think there's also just simple tethering skill, look at Chovy playing, he's just going to dominate games from his mechanics alone sometimes. certainly it's important to learn this stuff, but that's kind of oversimplifying it.
Yep that is a fundamental of Viktor, hence why I cover it first. Your ability to tether and use your E well is MASSIVE. The other 'game micro' stuff is too hard to cover in this video and should be assumed knowledge for high elo climbing

I started this game in S6 and really only climb to gold and quit but this time I want to get to plat. I played Viktor after the nerf in s7 when no one played him and still got gold. Nowadays he's strong but I'm pretty bad with him for some reason. I don't die to ganks and I get cs and control my lane so it's near but not under my tower all the time but yet I still lose a lot. I shove it if the laner roams but I just get flamed by the team for not "following the roam". I ping 20 times mia but no one cares about it. I'm not blaming the team, I'm just wondering what do I do in these situations.
Trying to last hit with 53 ad is not fun lol

I watched your video and it was interesting, but I don't understand why every1 on youtube who teaches ppl thinks that people in Bronze and Silver don't know the game or the champions basics and fundamentals. The thing is in low elo the game is much more TEAM DEPENDANT. I can be the best Viktor player ever if my TOP is AFK, my bot lane just fed the enemy adc. The jungler never comes to gank etc. So all the basics and fundamentals doesn't matter at all. we know it, but still losing games. I was hard stuck bronze till yesterday night since Season 10. I was extremely lucky and I had 10 wins out of 11 games so I could finally get to Silver 4. I was playing good too, 3 times MVP and I got 2 S as well. I play Viktor mid / Nautilus support. And I don't know how I can climb higher right now, although I know that on my Viktor and my Nautilus I should be on Gold /Plat lvl. But it seems impossible due to the fact I just explained.
I used to think videos like this would help me climb. Then after losing to smurfs in my promo games I realised I would never climb and now just troll and int all my games, just like smurfs :D
