I wonder if today's ski jumpers would still be able to jump in the classic style. Very few older ski jumpers in the early 1990's were able to swich successfully to the V-style. Many of the old classics continued to use the parallel style until the end of their cereers. Noriaki Kasai is the only active ski jumper today that used to jump in the classic style at the beginning of his career.

Definitely he was a pioneer,i was impressed by the length of his jumps,though the the marks he was given was low.

Jan Boklöv "invented" the V-style. Unfortunately he was first and the judges gave him penalties for his style.
Miroslav Graf was apparently the first one to use the V style in 1969
