Everything in south Arica is world Class Boss we lead ,We have the biggest Mall in Africa Pretoria( Menyln Mall ) over 500 stores broke world record last year😅😅
@maxpaine3777 I don't know anything about Witblitz, so I cannot dispute it. All I know is there was a Metroblitz train. It even appears over RUclips. I was a teenager during that era, as a South African.
Thanks for the positive feedback. It's been fourteen years since its launch. As members of BRICS I would suggest that we dream bigger as part of continuous improvement and aspire to get the real high speed trains criss crossing the mighty China currently. We are talking about speeds of over 400 km per hour
Though this is a masterpiece, only those who don't know will say that it is the first fastest train in South Africa. Back in the 80s there was a train named Metro-Blitz. That train was substantially faster than the Gautrainm though, due to sanctions on South Africa for its then Apartheid laws, it couldn't make it further than a third of a decade.
Only thing faster is the escalators which reminds me of rushing to board the last daytime train "nge staff" in high school -otherwise evening trains. People in a hurry should use the elevators.
@@Newa1012 it was Sunday morning from rosebank to airport, l waited 30 minutes for the train started moving and waited another 30 minutes at Sandton station. It was so bad and helpless.
The gautrain has its own designated power line from Eskom and they made a deal with Eskom where even if there is loadshedding, the gautrain wont be affected
So u want it to travel to villages? 🤷♂️ it also travels to CBDs whr u can find all races rich and poor, u ppl have issues with every development we have?
Some facts. Gautrain only covers 10% of the destinations you see cars on the road. The Gautrain busses cover only 15% of the destinations of potential passengers. This model of train failed in the UK so they sold it to South Africa. Thus, it is not as wonderful as you think. It is actually a failure.
How is it a failure when thousands of South African travel safely using the Gautrain. Jealousy will give you a heart attack. What train is your country using? This train is not from the UK, useless person.

The first high speed train in Africa was South African technology 30 years before the Gautrain, that train was called the Witblitz.

My pleasure. We should learn from China
We don't need a train that can go 400km per hour in SA unless it will go to Cape Town. South Africa is a smaller country compared to china
World class African country
True so developed
Indeed smooth and seemless
Very smooth

Unfortunately I missed flight because of Gautrain.
Oh that's bad.. Was it slow?

I've been using gautrain since 2011 never disappoint
How did it happen,? Was it moving slow or its your poor time planning?

Guys please open your eyes. Check those places the train is going n check their races. Not meaning to be racist. 😢.
Where is development going?

White tendencies! Always speaking nonsense about South Africa
How did it fail, explain?was it English mediocre admin or locomotive tech & spec?
By the way everything is failing in the UK
