You know, another thing that's interesting about electric-start small engines is that you can even get to a point where you have an engine that can fit all in just one hand (old-school model airplane engines, etc.), which of course don't have starter motors built in, but then I have a starter motor that's much bigger than the engine that you just temporarily attach to it by cupping it over the kind of nose cone that you would put on the crankshaft, especially as the nose of a propeller. Man, these days we just don't mess with that stuff, given all the electric drones that we have that make things a ton easier, but sometimes it's fun to go back and play with the old-school stuff just for the nostalgia and the cool feeling of beating the challenge, ha! So yeah, even with my high-tech drone I still have all my old outdated stuff and will keep all my things like that indefinitely (at least until such time as if I were to learn that one of them will never work again).
GREAT video! I've LOVED electric start on small engines like this and smaller ever since I knew they even existed, as of 1986 when my dad and I went to go replace our old lawnmower and the guy showed us that not only did that Toro mower have this, but it was self-propelled! Later on we even bought an electric-start string trimmer! And ever since then my parents only bought mowers like that or better when it was time to replace them, and then even a riding mower in the early 2000s for while I still lived with them or would go back to help. But now for many years they (and then just in 2021, my mom only; RIP, dad) have hired yard caretakers instead. But yeah, ever since 1986 my life of mowing lawns for my parents (which, as we can see, I haven't had for many years now) was made a ton easier by features like this! Even the self-propulsion feature is more important, though. But starting a small engine, or watching one get started, like this still gives me the giggles!
Well Doc, unlike the similar tutorial I posted years ago, you got straight to the point, and you may surpass the 123K views I got in no time. I tip my hat to you partner, good work.
3:19 don't install that with a shim, find something that has the same thickness and do it properly because chances are you won't be able to bend it evenly under tension and you're also bending the shim gauges making them less usable. You use a pair of calipers to figure out what that same size material should be, by using the shim gauges to calibrate (and lock) your calipers (you don't need to measure). Generally speaking (it used to be) a convention between manufacturers to ship a piece of cardstock with the right spacing, that said, because this is a kit, you won't get one, so you have to make one yourself. Not having the magnet properly set can cause to damage to the coil in some cases. Just my 2 cents.
But of course, even after all those years of mowing lawns for my parents with features like this and self-propulsion since we upgraded in 1986 before they hired pro yard guys sometime in the 10s, if they had to replace a mower or snowblower now, I bet they would buy cordless electric ones. Yeah, actually, just in one of the recent years like 2022 or 23, my mom did just replace our old gasoline string trimmers with a cordless electric one (even though I bet she still has both gasoline one, meaning one with electric start).
Hmm, this is interesting, because on all the small engines of nearly this style that I've opened up at least to this point, the cooling fan and the flywheel were technically just one part.
Je Quite practical for making a kart that starts on contact Then just add an alternator to the engine that recharges the battery and have the perfect engine to install it in a car without a license style aixam

Należy dopisać że zestaw nie posiada regulatora napięcia i po dłuższym użytkowaniu napięcie przekracza znacznie 17V. Ja dołożyłem zewnętrzny regulator z jakiegoś traktorka-kosiarki.

My friend, I have an electric water motor. Can you show me how to turn this engine into a car wash machine? Greetings from Turkey
Perfect to make things easier 🤣
Hello! Your video is very helpful.
If possible, could you post a video about the cell start wiring for "Robin EY40BS" ?

If you're old like me you would know that you use a match book to set points and the air gap, it .020" thick.

Link or name for the motor starter kit?

Will this work with the twin engine built you did last week or two?

"Starter[:] It looks identical as on the car."
No, a car's starter motor is a good bit bigger!
"...Ordered from ebay."
No it wasn't. Ebay doesn't sell anything except extended listing features and small insurance plans.
hello, how long did you wait for the package??
Haha, "paint on each screw..."
Nah. Thread locker.
there is a starter kit for a small honda?

This modification is very old.some thinking new 🤔
Waste of time. never showed battery location or hook up
Battery positive on the open solenoid contact, battery negative to frame.
