Excellent video! We have the RD 7 and love it. This one you got is SO cool! I love that it serves as the mirror and has a touch screen- so awesome. Enjoy it! - MJ
I know you don’t have a 400 anymore but I just bought a 2022/400 and towed it five hours to home and every time I looked in the rear view I saw “white” and that bugs me so I’m researching cameras and you found a good one! First it was the 400 and now the camera … 😂 thanks again and safe travels!
We love that camera! Honestly I would ge lost without it. Did you open the blinds on your front and rear 400 windows? I use to be able to see through the 400 when towing. It will depend on your tow vehicle and how low it sits as to whether you can see through.
Good timing. We are looking to put a backup camera on our NuCamp Tag Boondock XL. We don’t need it as a backup camera for parking but we want to be able to see who is behind us or in our blind spot when on the road. This might be a lot more than what we need. Thanks for sharing. 🤓
We’ve heard Costco sells one that mounts on your license plate for around $130 and it has a little solar panel that keeps it charged. That might work great on a T@G
I have been contemplating a rear view camera for our Little Guy Max. It is wired for one but I am not sure if it works with any camera? I love that is has a mic so you can hear Patty talk to you when backing up. Great video Patrick!
As I saw it before, Little Guy Max is pre-wired for Furrion camera. While Haloview provides brackets that compatible with Furrion pre-wired RVs which is so cool!
Our RV came already wired and we love it. You will feel so much safer towing. It really is an essential item in our opinion. Looks like a great system.
The Tacoma did a great job pulling at 65 mph. We were getting 11 mpg in the midwest but that dropped down to 10 mpg when we got out west. The biggest drawback is the combined trailer/truck rating was 11,280#. We were maxed out with the trailer only weighing 5100#. The only cargo we had with us in the bed of the truck was the generator, some tools and the pet stroller. We didn't get to bring our bikes or have water in the tank of the trailer in order to stay at the max combined weight rating.
Great Camera! Nice to see a piece of home, a crazy one I-55 at Joliet but when you spend 47 of your 58 years somewhere you kinda memorize the landscape. I love the camera and will look into it for our 26 FT North Trail. Towing is hard anywhere so any help is great and you just never know about backing up the Rig.
Another great tutorial, Patrick! Love that it fits over existing rear view instead of a separate monitor. The screen seems very user friendly and provides easy access to varied menus that you can customize. (Would come in extremely handy in 'accident' cases where someone tries to pass you on the right shoulder trying to get ahead of "that darn camper" approaching an exit, hit a construction cone, and blames YOU, and it's your word against theirs. Not that I would know, lol). Haloview did well having you explain their product, glad you have it. Safer travels! ~💜
Great Video. While it may be a little pricey for some, I think it's well worth the investment. I wonder if you notify your insurance company you have this if they would give you a discount of some sort on your policy. It will definitely make you less likely to back into something or the recording feature could provide good evidence in the unlikely event you are ever involved in an accident. None us want to think about that, but insurance companies sure do!
It's nice but like you I like my mirror compass. I would buy one of they offered a monitor I could stick on the dash. The heat may be an issue it was 112 degrees today here in Arizona. I loved the concept and I really need one.
Interesting timing. I was going to ask you if you were planning on using a dash cam for the new truck and trailer combination. Have to let us know how the dash cam works for you, if you find it useful or not.
Outstanding review! I absolutely need to get one for our Rig. We have been kicking it around for too long.. think it may be time to get serious. Thanks Patrick for your honest review and install.. yep.. think that may be something I can do (if you can do it). Thanks again my friend.
I absolutely love this and would never haul again without one. It’s just so nice to see what’s coming behind you or what’s tailgating you. This is the first time I’ve ever had a rear camera.
On my new trailer it is pre wired for a backup camera, nice feature but the price of the camera system that it’s branded for is pretty expensive. For technology that’s everywhere these days the price point could be better. I noticed this kit is pretty nice I like the packaging it appears that this company takes some pride in its product this may be worth exploring even if it might be a pricey.
This one actually comes with a mounting plate and wiring to use with the prewired ones. Our friend John from No Ordinary Path replaced the one that came with his trailer with this one.
I like this setup but I am not sure if I would prefer a larger screen when backing up and also this systems says you cannot install any other cameras like side cameras. Do we need side cameras? Would love to see a system that had a 360 view of the camper to assist in backing in to a site.
Great video. I was just wondering if you had polarised sunglasses. I’m keen to buy this unit, but some displays are hard to read with polarised glasses.
I also have a Lance 1985 but without the roof bars. That's a lot of cable to stow since a 1985 only needs 22 ft to mount the repeater. One wonders if the repeater is necessary. Did you ever try it with the repeater disconnected?
Patrick - do you think there's enough room for the repeater/transmitter to be stuck to the inside wall of the front MaxxAir cover? That would keep it out of the elements and tidy up the cable a bit. Thanks in advance.
Hey I put one of these dominator systems on my camper but I ran the cord to the transponder under the camper and hooked the transponder to the LP gas cover at the hitch and it works fine and that took up the extra cable that was there in the back I ran the wire down the ladder can hardly see it anyhow it works fine.
Just curious about how long ago you made reservations to get into Yellowstone given the Covid-19 situation. Also, we had a Lance 1575 with a b/u camera installed by the dealer. Was great when it worked. Unfortunately, water infiltrated ours (different brand). I think it was just a bad unit and I was able to buy just the camera and reuse the receiver. Best of luck with the camera and the trailer.
I’d love to find good Tacoma towing mirrors that STILL give the functionality of heat and passing sensor. Can you do a video on that you and I have the same truck. Thanks....
I would’ve mounted it directly in the middle of the red light but on the bottom of the light. But because that area is on an angle, maybe you didn’t do that because they don’t tilt up or down?
Want another opinion? Check out our friend John from No Ordinary Path’s review: ruclips.net/video/R-PWmpJwr3E/видео.html
Going to consider this. Your on the road demonstration has me thinking this is a worthwhile investment.
1800 miles in on this trip and we are loving it. I am not sure how we lived without one for so long.
Yep. I need this. Backing up isn't always easy alone. This would solve backing up and watching what's behind me. Thanks for the review, Patrick!
Thank you! I have no idea how I have pulled trailers all these years without one. It's so nice to see whats behind us at all times.
Excellent video! We have the RD 7 and love it. This one you got is SO cool! I love that it serves as the mirror and has a touch screen- so awesome. Enjoy it! - MJ
Thank you! I love the monitor being on the rear view mirror of the truck. It’s just natural to look there
I know you don’t have a 400 anymore but I just bought a 2022/400 and towed it five hours to home and every time I looked in the rear view I saw “white” and that bugs me so I’m researching cameras and you found a good one! First it was the 400 and now the camera … 😂 thanks again and safe travels!

Wow, that was a great video. We can always count on you two to keep us up to date. Looks like a good add-on to your RV. Thanks!
Thank you! I can’t imagine towing now without this.
That is so cool! Dual cameras and on the rearview mirror.
Great Setup & Review!
Lou
Thank you Lou!
I like the new back camera, and you did a nice job installing it,
Thank you! It is very useful with towing
Another great video Patrick please make sure you do a complete walk through of your new beautiful trailer safe travels
We are hoping to release a tour of our new Lance this coming Sunday.
Good timing. We are looking to put a backup camera on our NuCamp Tag Boondock XL. We don’t need it as a backup camera for parking but we want to be able to see who is behind us or in our blind spot when on the road. This might be a lot more than what we need. Thanks for sharing. 🤓

Very nice review. I think Carl might like this!
Christmas gift?
Wow!! That's a super cool system! (I don't think I have seen a wooden ladder in years)
That is my trusty old ladder....had it for years.
This one comes with an adapter bracket for the ones prewired so it most likely would work.
I love this camera, it looks great and is easy to install. I will consider it, thanks for sharing.
Our RV came already wired and we love it. You will feel so much safer towing. It really is an essential item in our opinion. Looks like a great system.
You'd think they would almost make them a standard feature for safety reasons.
Did you install the same camera?
I was sure you had a backup camera in the truck that helped when backing up to hook up to Carl. Maybe I was dreaming. Great Halo camera.
We actually didn’t have one on C@rl mainly because we could see through him when we towed with the front and back shaded down
Would love a video on how your taco handles the new trailer. I have the same truck and would love to upgrade RVs myself

A very thorough description of this camera system. I'm definitely going to look into this. Thank you again.
We still absolutely LOVE this camera! It has been great.
Hey, great job on the install. Looks great. My rear camera is where the rearview mirror would normally be and I agree it is very natural.
Thanks Lou! I am never very good at recording installs but I tried on this one. i was nervous drilling into a brand new RV.

I see where you’re going with that Stacey!! 😂

I may have to ask our State Farm Agent (Chandra...not Jake! LOL) about this to see if it might qualify for any discounts.
The much anticipated video! Great video 👍
Thanks Mo! Any luck on the sale of your trailer?
No luck yet. Still on eBay until Wednesday. I can’t wait to see a video on Sir Lancelot. Enjoy your trip wherever y’all are :)
It's nice but like you I like my mirror compass. I would buy one of they offered a monitor I could stick on the dash. The heat may be an issue it was 112 degrees today here in Arizona. I loved the concept and I really need one.
They do have models that come with the more traditional monitor.
@@TravelswithDelaney Great I'm buying one!
Did you buy a new truck?? I absolutely love your guy’s channel
Thank you!! Good catch on the truck at the end. Yes....we now have a Tundra
Interesting timing. I was going to ask you if you were planning on using a dash cam for the new truck and trailer combination. Have to let us know how the dash cam works for you, if you find it useful or not.
I’m hoping we never have a need for the dash cam footage but it’s nice to know we have it.
My wonderful geo pro came with camera holder and I got the camera and wow love it love love it... great video
Thank you! It is such a wonderful thing for towing.
Outstanding review! I absolutely need to get one for our Rig. We have been kicking it around for too long.. think it may be time to get serious. Thanks Patrick for your honest review and install.. yep.. think that may be something I can do (if you can do it). Thanks again my friend.

Wow that is so cool!!
We are loving it!
Do you know Jonnie’s Journey?? She is a great channel! We are doing a meet up here in Florida later in the month!!
Thank you Patrick - great video. How did the camera do at night - did the glare from the light interfere with the picture?
We haven’t done any night towing yet on this trip yet so I don’t know.

Travels with Delaney That is definitely worth knowing, Thank you.

Nice video!!! Zip ties and duct tape hold the world together! 😜
LOL! Yes they do!
Great video. I was just wondering if you had polarised sunglasses. I’m keen to buy this unit, but some displays are hard to read with polarised glasses.
Hi Great video. Have you noticed any sort of lag/delay or latency between what's being displayed and what's actually happening? Thanks.
I have not noticed any lag….as far as I can tell its live.
Is there a way to tie additional cameras to this system? Like side cameras, etc.? Thanks for sharing!
Not that I am aware of on this particular one
I also have a Lance 1985 but without the roof bars. That's a lot of cable to stow since a 1985 only needs 22 ft to mount the repeater. One wonders if the repeater is necessary. Did you ever try it with the repeater disconnected?
I have not tried it without the repeater.
Patrick - do you think there's enough room for the repeater/transmitter to be stuck to the inside wall of the front MaxxAir cover? That would keep it out of the elements and tidy up the cable a bit. Thanks in advance.
There might be. I know they suggest down on the frame but I am not sure it has to be down low.
Nothing urgent, but you may want to replace your clear cable ties with black ones which are UV rated. They’ll last a lot longer in the sun.
I actually got them replaced the day after I shot that footage. Plus you can’t even tell they are up there boys that they are black.
I also have a lance trailers. Do you have to turn of the truck light while plugging trailer to truck? To power the back camera?
Yes! My lights have an auto feature but you have to have the lights on to power it.
We made reservations back in January before Covid really had impacted the US
Hi Patrick, I just got our R10. During the pre Installation check I noticed the monitor around the antenna gets very warm. Does yours?
Not that I am aware of but I don’t typically touch the monitor. You should reach out to Haloview and see if they feel that is normal or not.
Really nice install. Seems very helpful for a larger rig. Do you have any issues with direct sun on the display?
It was easy to see even in the sun. The only issue was the day it seemed to overheat but the truck was reading 98 degrees outside.
Great review Patrick. How does it do in the dark?
We haven’t towed in the dark with it yet so I am not sure
My Lance came with one. Do I always remember to look at it? No. 🤦🏻♂️. That one looks awesome. Question.....do you not use towing mirrors?
I typically have not used towing mirrors. I have always liked those little circle mirrors to add to the mirrors to help with blindspots.
Living in the north will this withstand the winter weather conditions? Rain and snow!
It made it through the winter here in Indiana with no issues.
Can you record both front and rear cameras at the same time?
A GOOD set of real towing mirrors goes a long way also.
Not the clip on junk.
Good tip!
I’d love to find good Tacoma towing mirrors that STILL give the functionality of heat and passing sensor. Can you do a video on that you and I have the same truck. Thanks....
The camera seems like a great unit. But I can't find it for sale anywhere. ??
Did you check on the Haloview website? It’s the RD10
I would’ve mounted it directly in the middle of the red light but on the bottom of the light. But because that area is on an angle, maybe you didn’t do that because they don’t tilt up or down?
You can adjust the camera up and down
@@TravelswithDelaney ok thanks for sharing the video. I think I’m definitely getting this one and I thank you, sir!
Do you know if installing this voids warranty on the trailer?
I do not know. I’d check with your RV manufacturer
Looks easy. I dont have a rearview in my cargo van though. Then what?
Hi Patrick, wish you could have gotten a DISCOUNT CODE for the Haloview. We are very interested in this RD10 camera.
They didn't give us any discount codes for it otherwise we would have shared that.
traveling in a 25 foot class a rv
What about side views (blind spots)
I use Snap & Zap clip on mirrors on the truck and have no issues with blind spots towing our 23’ travel trailer
Can anyone assist? - where can we buy this RD10 in the UK? - no obvious suppliers found?
Did you try the Haloview website?
Yes thanks, finally ordered direct from haloview for ups shipping to UK.
What if your trailer comes wired. Do so I won’t need the long wires.
You can either coil up the extra wire or trim it off
Bye
Those zip ties will not hold up in the element s.
It’s been 2 years so far and haven’t replaced any yet
