Your vstrom is so unique very nice build brother youve done awesome.
Thanks! Glad you like it!
Has to be Maldon, Victoria's first Notable Town!
The town at the start is Clunes. I've been through Maldon though, felt like I stepped back to the 1800's.
Will have to go back and have a better look at that town
Wow! I’ll have to check out Clunes, very similar looking to Maldon
That was a good bit of exploring Ian, its amazing the places you are finding. The Quarts Mountain looks interesting. Your bike is definitely way more capable than standard , i used to love riding mine off road but standard has its limits.
Very different riding around that area. Mostly flat but found some interesting places.
The campsite at Mt Beckworth was nice, the one in Paddy's Ranges was a massive dust bowl, might be ok after some rain.
I love what you’ve done with that bike, and like you said, the ADV bike just makes all the on pavement riding a bit more comfortable than a true dual sport…..
It suits me and my riding. Shame it's getting a bit old and worn out like me.
@@OzADVRider 😂😂 you’re not old!!
@@OzADVRider I am 76, almost 77, and I had to down-size from my XT600 to a TW200. The reason? I was out on a two track and had to go around a tree that was across the road. I just got off balance and tipped over. It took me 25 minutes to figure out a way to lift up that top-heavy high-geared beast. I went back to the truck, loaded it up, and took it to my favorite bike shop and had him sell it. I always ride alone, like you. For the same reasons as you. I DO carry a Personal Locater Beacon, (PLB), because crap happens!!
My little 200 is just plain fun to ride. I amazes me where it will go. I ride a lot slower than you. I am just not in a hurry any more. The snow is finally melting here in Idaho, I can't wait to get riding again. I also have a new quad that is also fun to ride. Much better in the rugged mountain quad trails. We have some single-track trails around here, and I would never take a bike as heavy as yours on them. Do you have issues lifting up your bike if it tips over?
I loved the drone footage, and the footage of the camera on your helmet. Not so much with the footage pointing back.
A smaller bike is a good idea as you get older. If you ride alone, you must be able to lift it.
I can lift mine ok for now. My back isn't great, and I will have to downsize my bike in the future.
The TW200 looks like a fun bike.
I don't use the rear view camera angle very often, but like changing angles to try and keep it interesting.
@@OzADVRider My 200 has about the same power that my old 175 enduros had. It has been years since I rode a dirt bike with this little power, But it is fun. It also has a low enough first gear to be useful. That 94 600 was way to high geared in first. If I geared it down, then my cruising speed suffered.
Your footage was very interesting. I liked the DEEP holes that you found. Looked like a good place to hide something, if you know what I mean. Wink wink!
Great video, I didn't see that mine shaft when I was there 18:00
It looked very deep. I need to take a torch on these rides.
Very interesting place to look around.
A person could fall into one of those mine shafts and never be found!!
Yep, they are everywhere around here. Very deep some of them, no way to climb out
Wow, cool tracks!! That long part between the fences seemed sketchy for a bit😂😂
Really thought I was going to end up in someones front yard.
@@OzADVRider it looked it, over here, you’d have to be worried about being greeted with a gun!!
Dam nice video 😂 Ian , enjoy the bike you ride man , its all about the adventure 😎👍
Thanks mate!
Mate, after having ridden your bike, I really do think that if suzuki had a similar offering, it be a bike I'd buy!!!!
I think it's a great compromise of dual sport and adv. Still comfortable but good off-road.
ADV bikes are built to suit marketing needs rather than riders' needs.
@@OzADVRider For many years I had a 1986 XT600 Yamaha, and I loved it. Then I started riding quads, and I sold it. (Big Mistake) After a few years I decided to buy another XT600. It was a 94. I did a lot of work on it and got it running great. BUT, I discovered a fact. The 86 XT was a dirt bike that you could take on the road. The 94 XT was a road bike that you could take in the dirt. There IS a difference! Plus, I am not as strong as I use to be. Sad, but totally true. My new TW200 suits me much better.
I'm glad you found the right bike for you.
I had an '89 XT600 I mainly used to commute to work on which included gravel roads.
@@OzADVRider That bike would be great on gravel roads. My 94 was decent on gravel roads, but my 200 is way better on gravel roads. In my younger days, I had a blast on my 600. It is really hard to have to admit to YOURSELF that you just can't do what you use to do. But, I am still on the top side of the daisies, I just need to be a little more cautious.
Dude, ingnore the naysayers regarding that awesome Vstrom you have - I've seen it in the wild and there's nothing wrong with it at all 🙂Looking forward to the next time we tackle the tracks together!
Thanks Craig!
The bike suits me and the riding I do so I'll keep riding it
@@OzADVRider That is all that matters!!!
Rock climbing in moto cross boots!!
They're pretty good to walk in, plenty of ankle support.
@@OzADVRider that’s good!!
I didn’t catch what you said about the KTM 690 you tried. Did you like it? That’s practically the same bike as my Husky 701 Enduro.
I said the KTM was much better than my bike but I was more than happy to get back on mine.
Power and handling of the KTM 690 is great, just didn't feel comfortable on it.
