Petition for Rob to make "Alone in a Field With You" into a full song.
I totally agree!
Rob please
I mean just loop it 4 times and it's a post-folk song
I'll sign that
Hear, hear!!
Seeing this means that theres gonna be a third 1st of october album, and that just makes me happy
The real question is does Scallon go to space or does Huang land the ship to make it happen.
lets just make it 3rd of october xd

@@ArmyBoiSweat very possible😂 but i meant the people i know.
Amateur, a true drummer never forgets his china cymbal😂
I used to play for a alt rock band in college and never used a China but in practices I would randomly swap out a crash for my China and my guitarists would start blasting metal. My singer was never too happy bout that😂

I love how a couple years ago you and Andrew rented out a studio for a day to write and record an album and the sound guy who just happened to be working that day turned out to be the chillest, most genuine dude ever. Shout out to Rob Ruccia for being an absolute legend.
Pretty sure they were well acquainted before that
the first video i remember seeing him in was the one where rob tries out recording on the tape machine. and that was a couple months prior if i remember correctly. but you’re right he’s the best side character on this show
Pretty sure they knew each other before that, earliest I remember seeing him is in the DJAZZ video
Thank you for the kind words. I’ve been working with Rob Scallon for a long time. Even prior to him breaking out on RUclips. He’s one of the best clients and I am glad to be his friend. His projects never cease to challenge me and he always amazes me with his talent.
@@robruccia4665 thanks for clarifying! You really do rock! :))
omg I fkin died at the 2nd song, never would have thought to put that melody in such a heavy context, well done Rob 😆
reminds me of some after the burial tracks
It reminds me a lot of Hum.
I'm shocked these beginners could even play this smooth with good timing. Also their control of what strings they are playing is pretty good as well. The third melody even had slides in it, that stuff is usually hard for first timers.
Alone In A Field's mix of ambient-ish alternative rock with the folk-style mandolin at 3:56 is SO nice 👏
"the cover tells me all folk instruments"

6:15 - Just a Melody
8:25 - Six-string on my Towels
Preciate ya
7:13 Holy crap, they almost picked mine! Pretty cool to know that Rob gave it a listen, even if it's not particularly impressive.
I've fallen off practicing as much as I probably should, since I'm busy with the drums at the moment, but I'm absolutely picking it up again soon. It's a great guitar course - super fun!
And congrats to the three that got picked, great stuff!
The man the myth the legend posted a video
An hour of learning but multiple hours trying to get a good recording
I can learn any song and i write original music all the time. But i can't figure out how to properly record various instruments or how to mix them. This why musicians need engineers/producers because musicians just wanna jam damn it.
@@the_original_Bilb_Ono yup the songs I recorded and mixed properly was pretty much luck for me soundwise loll
6:00 missed opportunity for yelling DJENT!
I hope there will be a new First of October album this year
Us too! It’s looking very likely that travel will be possible by that time and we can both get in the studio together and make another album happen. But we of course can’t say for sure. If it’s possible, we’re doing it.

WE NEED MORE SINGING ROB!!!! Seriously, you have a really nice voice and it's really cool the occasional times we get to hear it
The “AHH” in the second song sounds like a meme scream
Wtf is a meme scream? You mean like a howie or Wilhelm scream? Explain this to an elderly 27 year old will ya young man?
Its almost kinda Smoshy
@@the_original_Bilb_Ono yes
@@the_original_Bilb_Ono I was thinking the same thing. Like, the Wilhelm scream? lol
All the melodies are so Rob Scallon-y
My man took one hour to indoctrinate them into his style lmao. What kinda magic shit are they doing with guitar quest?
Man you're such a cool dude. I love how positive these make me feel
You are one of the most positive and inspirational music RUclipsrs I've ever seen and im glad to be one of your subscribers
Wow, the camera work & lighting are especially cool on this one!! I wonder what changed.
Edit: Wow!² The third song is a definite EARWORM - I'd love an even fuller version of it!
I'm reminded:
Eeeeeeeeeevrybody knows
Rob's a better singer than Roomie
Yeah. He's a little pitchy.
The amount of fun Rob has with music is exactly what made me pick up his guitar course
i love how when rob hears the major 7 he immediately likes it :) a true man of culture lol
Damn Rob's vocals have improved over the years
This is awesome. Please make more videos like this
We want more content like this Rob
That last song is about as Weezer a song can get
Very world has turned and left me here
Weezer doesn't even write songs that are as Weezer as that anymore.
Great to be seeing you at Uptown again after so long
All cool and all but DON'T YOU DARE LETTING US DOWN THIS OCTOBER!
I fell in love of with your channel years ago, managing to still surprise us with your creativity is something to be proud of!!! You just rule!!!
5:24 Rob does his best Lars Ulrich impression
This was fun! It´s cool that you could find a way to have fun in the teaching process with this stuff (which sometimes is kinda boring and repetitive for the teacher). I`m sure the 2nd guy did not expect to have a Djenty guitar on his tune :)
WOW! Rob, yer killin' me... I'm not surprised you made magic of beginner strummings but what a delicious teaching tool and just a powerful motivator for the participants. Super CoooL! Thank you
This is really cool. I really like the interaction with your students. I will consider joining the course once I get the money.
I love seeing new videos. it was such a sweet one. Yall 3 are a magic trio for real. Thanks man
very nice video!!! nice job to promote people that just started with guitar @Rob!
Rob heard that first one and was like “okay I can write to this *hears the chord switch to Major7* Ohhhh we’re using this one!!!” 🤣
Funny how they're all in G
@Lucas Miller no it’s rob scallion lore that all songs must be in G
This is so great! I love that you're doing this. I can also relate to playing mostly on electric drum kits. The feel is so different when you sit down at an acoustic set.
I'm alone in a field is a banger lol
Rob's musical creativity and genius knows no bounds
These songs are awesome and fun no matter how much experience the melody writers have.
P.S. It’s hard not to like all your videos! You’re too dang likable and nice!
every month or so i binge watch every vid of yours that i skipped in my sub box and im never disappointed, thanks for keeping guitar playing in my mind :)
Ayy I didn't know you also had a Schechter omen-8 I love mine! One of the best 8 string guitars I've ever played on.
if not for the omen we wouldn’t have the signatures, or the Rob we know today
An iconic guitar of robs
Shit, man this approach is so amazing… all the courses are like “learn this chord and you can play these songs”… and it’s OK, but for some people making own music is so much more fun (and that includes me as I discovered recently)! All the best for you and your students! 🤘👍
That's is so freaking great. I love that you did this especially with people who are that new at playing guitar.
I’ve been playing for 13 years and teach guitar also. But I’m going to buy this course all because rob is so damn humble. There’s always something new you can learn on any skill level :)
Rob and Rob... now that’s a duo I trust - even on days that are not the first of october...
Coool! I will check out Robs course...my guitar has been collecting dust for over a year and I haven’t started learning yet :(
What a cool creative way to promote your guitar course. I love it
This is amazing, i cant imagine how inspiring this is going to be for these 3. Well done all!
This is amazing! Rob and the producer are super amazing at making songs
The second song was stuck in my head today and I came back JUST to listen to it.
After bringing two Schecter guitars to this session, I think I know which company Rob’s thinking of moving to now his contract with Chapman is up 👀
Yep, you were right
Love seeing you have some fun.
Rob! Do a vid exploring the accordion! I just started watching again and saw your hurdey gurdey vid, it would be so cool to see you explore the accordion and see what you can do on it.
Awesome way to give support to your students. 🖖
Just a Melody reminds me of the instrumental tracks of Terra Incognita and The Link by Gojira

This is amazing!!! How can these 3 not dive in head first now. Great Idea
Great video! You made some people very happy!!! Great job!
Still waiting on that tape measure guitar.
Wonderfull...
It's very creative make the Music
Salute Scallon
I think there is now more motivation keep playing music than this video.
It shows two stadiums of music making combined. You can definitely see and hear the difference of both, the beginner and the professional.
But both examples combined together is pointing exactly in the direction each musician has to go. Wich path he takes is his choice (or hers). And that you can make music with one single chord and some changed notes in between is the best motivation to just keep going to learn guitar or any other instrument.
I love it.
Wow, those melodies are really well played on time. Good job!
Love how the first shot of you singing on the first song mirrors the album cover on Sebasticus' song
I caught myself smiling during this entire video. Nice job, Rob!
Love it. Specially the last song was pretty good 👍
This is my new favorite series from ya Rob!
This was a very sweet video love ya rob
seriously good shit man puts a massive smile on my face :)
God that second was hilarious. I love when people can improvise an entirely different feel for a song/riff that you wouldnt expect! lol Amazing
One of the most inspiring things about this channel is actually seeing Rob's vocal ability improve over the years
Wow, I can't believe you got the guy who did the original Wilhelm scream for this song!
Well that was a learning experience, thank you
Dude i'm in love with this. 💛
Now this is a neat way of combining selling a course AND giving hardcore fans the experience of playing with "THE" Rob Scallon!
I love your work rob.... Wish I had the patience to do music
Please PLEASE release Alone In A Field With You as a full track
This was wonderful and hatless rob is my favorite.
Backup vocals: Jake Jarvi - that's a new one for him, I think? I was gonna ask if it wasn't Rick Riffson, but he 1. asked and 2. didn't scream "DJENT!", so...not Riffson.
Rob's singing on the towel song was pretty great.
Could we perhaps get a full instrumental one of alone in a field?
*The thing about writing songs is: You just gotta do it!*
Write a song, experiment, have fun, finish it - and move on to the next one. Put your feelings in it and the song will be right for that moment. This is how you practice writing music. It's like someone learning to cook: It will not taste good everytime, especially at the start. But at some point you will acquire great skill and taste.
I think these types of videos are my favorite.
What can't you play 🎸🥁🪕🎻🎺🎷🎹🎤🎧🎶🎼 love it awesome 👍
5:44 ... yes one scream. I like this one the best. Very clever.
Rob, you are an amazing human being.
0:40 Amanda Lynn. Well played, sir.
You actually improved my song, well kind of. I'm currently making at least a 4 track project and I have one "bedroom pop" song done but I also want more acoustic-y, a lot of layers of guitars but I never knew how to go about it. I've been producing for years so I know how to get the sound I want but you lightened my eyes up to the recording process heavily and I thank you tremendously for that.
6:20 I was not expecting sooo wild, explosive low frequencies. Especially in "modern metal/djent" mix.
Alone in a field with you is gold..
