For me the Air 4 is perfect. I use it as a laptop for work and gaming for play. It is my daily driver and I really love it. It's screen is big enough for multitasking and video and yet it is small and light enough to carry around easily. Coming from a Windows laptop I wasn't sure but it quickly won me over.
@@chandranshpandey1929 Modern tablets like the iPad Air/Pro and the Galaxy Tab 7/7 Pro are fully capable of replacing laptops for the majority of people. They are lighter and usually have better battery life. Most work now is web based so they perfectly fit the need. The A14 processor in my iPad easily outperforms my 10th gen I5 in my laptop that I now rarely use.
I love how the Mini fits in the palm of one hand, for me. It's definitely not as easy as holding an iPhone but it's definitely nice to have an iPad that's more manageable!
If you’re a student and take lots of notes, I would just get the air. I bought the iPad mini today and went to see the displays, them being side by side was very helpful because I knew then and there that I would find the iPad Air more convenient. So I ended up returning the mini. Just paying 108 more dollars for the air with apple care.
Agreed, you can even use air for wide watching for Netflix, hulu etc. perfect for class also if you love split screen. Either way, the mini is so cute and handy, tho i have the air 4 with me
thanks that answers my question i think. I planned using an ipad in school but i wasn't sure which is the better option. My biggest problem was if the 100$ more are worth the bigger size. I would use it not only for note taking but for writing whole pages of exercises. My other point was that im a student and 100$ more is much for me 😄. sry btw if my English is so bad lol
iPad Air is great but I need something on the go. I can take notes on both, but the mini just feels much better to hold. Plus it has the newer processor
i'm downsizing from ipad air 4 to the mini 6 bcoz after a year, i realized i barely take my ipad anywhere bcoz it's rather big and heavy to fit into my daily bag. thank you very much for this review!
I have the iPad Air 4 10.9” display with the magic keyboard and based on daily (heavy) usage I really love it. I use it for basically everything (some apps that I heavily use are Notes, Procreate, iMovie, Numbers and Keynote, with a few games here and there). However in my experience since my iPad is literally with me 24/7 indoors or outdoors, it gets pretty heavy especially when I go out and it’s the only thing that keeps my bag weigh like a concrete brick all the time. I see myself getting an iPad Mini 6 solely for “outdoor” purposes (going to work, cafe lounging and stuff) while keeping my iPad Air 4 for indoor use in the future.
same reason i cant bring air all around the places i wanted to when my bag's just small. a mini fits with it and i think i can maximize it given that i usually do my personal planning, etc at a coffee shop

You have done it again sir. My cousin is having trouble deciding what to buy for her kids for educational purposes. With the help of your video she has now decided what to buy. It really is true that you should by it nice or buy it twice. Have a great day sir.
Oh how I wished my parents had ever considered buying me a tablet or anything similar beside Christmas or birthday but if we wanted something we had to wait or work to get it, no matter what. Children these days are really spoiled.
I picked up the IPad Air 4 on launch and it’s just perfect for my requirements. For portability, gaming and reading I have my iPhone 11 which can do the IPad mini tasks.
Thanks for this super useful video. I agree: the most important deciding factor is to know what you'll use it for - as I have a 16" MacBook Pro for whenever I need a larger screen or to work, I now realise that for reading and browsing purposes the mini 6 is much more suitable as one can see a compact screen better than a significantly larger 11" screen on which your eyes would need to go up-and-down, making it less comfortable.
Just started watching your videos a few hours ago. I was about to ask of a comparison video of iPad Mini 6 and iPad Air. Literally read my mind! Super insightful video! Thanks
I own the IPad Air and was contemplating to get the mini but after watching the video I was really happy based on the way I used mine the IPad Air was better for me. Thank you!

I am glad you came up with a meaningful comparison between mini 6 and air 4. Had watched a few unboxing and initial impressions, but to be honest your comparison provides more visibility and will help viewers in making informed decisions. Appreciate you work 🙏
Watched this on my new Air 4 which I got a couple days ago. For me, the larger the display, the better. Also, I actually think that playing games on a larger display, especially a racing game, is actually better and preferable; at least, I prefer a larger display for gaming myself.
If the Mini 6 existed when I got the Air 4 in January, would have probably went with it over the Air 4 since the favourite iPad of the past was the Mini 2 over their larger counterparts. But, the Air 4 is still wonderful and there is a good benefit of screen size for watching content. Depending on how money goes, there might be some consideration of getting a purple Mini 6 to take everywhere in a bag because of the form factor since taking an Air 4 everywhere does feel kind of chonky. But at the same time right now, saving up money for the iPhone 13 Pro Max with a higher end storage option so getting someone like a Mini 6 after having an Air 4 can really wait.
The Mini feels like it was built for the post-pandemic era that's not quite here. If you're frequently reading or playing games on a train or at the coffee shop, it's great! But I'm still spending most of my time indoors, and it's tough to justify such a high price on a screen when I already have so many around me. And the 64GB is ridiculous for the price of 500 bucks!
The Mini 5 is perfect for lying on your back (UAG case with front flap cut off + 3 point elastic iPad back strap). If I was doing desk work, then the Air/11/12.9. Or to over generalise: Back = Mini Lap = Air or 11. Desk = 12.9 I want them all, for different reasons. But as a pure chill out device, Mini is king IMHO.
This is one of the better reviews of these products thank you very much. Many other reviews tend to focus on how seemingly useless the iPad Air 4 is, purely in relation to specs. However, as you mentioned very clearly, a person's use case scenario is really what differentiates the two devices.
After this video I'm getting the air with the apple pencil, and the logitech folio touch. Here are my reasons. Number one with a tablet, you want a big screen now I used to have an iPad Mini 4 which I traded into apple but then I only used it for games and videos. I would be using this for multiple purposes such as playing games, school work which I would need a big screen for, and videos and tv shows or movies. Especially with school with the Apple Pencil I wouldn't be want to be using it with such a small screen. 2. I am currently using a MacBook Air Early 2015 as a daily driver, I have had it for 5 years and I want an upgrade it is slowing down and is getting noisy for when I need it for projects. I was originally going to be getting the M1 MacBook Air but then I decided how I am a high school student and an iPad is perfect for what I need, and I will be upgrading my MacBook for when I graduate high school. Hence why I am getting the logitech folio case so I can have a trackpad because I like the computer better, but this has more uses than a MacBook
Super-duper impressed with your review! Far more comprehensive than most of the other reviews out at the moment, with *helpful* comparisons (why does everyone compare to the 12.9" iPad Pro!?) Very useful and informative video, thank you! 😊

I’ve got the iPad mini 5 and I’m looking for an upgrade. I think the newer generation mini would be the best option. I mainly do gaming and video editing.
I want to use it mainly for note taking and studying purposes, but I already have a MacBook Pro and I have a hard time justifying having such a large iPad, but I also have a hard time deciding if the screen is too small for note taking
@@salimasmoun9746 yes! I saw the air 4 in a store and decided the size is perfect, but I needed more storage than 64gb. The air 4 in 256 is 750 dollars, and the iPad Pro m1 11" is 800 for 128 gb. I actually ended up getting the m1 pro 11" for even less than its retail price. If you have a Costco around you, I recommend buying from there, they have free 2 year warrantee and good deals :) P.S. my main concern with the 11" was portability, but this thing is super light and still very portable. I can't imagine using the mini for taking notes, and I'm so glad I sized up.
@@rbell9 here in italy prices are more expensive so i think I'll go with the traditional 9th generation because I'll have to save money for university books and those things will cost a lot, so i have to sort out things. I already spent a lot for a macbook pro, a car and everything i needed for university and as i thought it isn't an easy thing😅
@@salimasmoun9746 ahh I see, honestly those are an awesome option too because of the value, plus I find the pro a little overpowered for notes and educational stuff, but nice nonetheless. I just figured if you were going to go for the air, the small price jump would be compensated for by the features, but the regular line is a great choice as well. About the books, are you required to have physical books? If not you can probably download them onto the iPad, I’d look into it and maybe increase in storage
@@rbell9 that's what i was thinking about, but i think I'll go with the phisical books just for those that i really need, even though for most of them there are lots of pdf's so it's not that big of a problem. So I'll eventually see ipads with a bigger memory, or I'll just organize myself and move things from the ipad to the mac. And since in my course we have like a rule, so everyone partecipates to take notes of what the teachers exactly say and add images and things like that it's possible to avoid books for some exams. Like now, i just bought 300€ of books for just an exam that I'll be taking next semester and i did it just because of a bonus that the government gives to people of 18/19 years to buy books and things like that😂. But thank you very much, in fact the iPad mini would be too small for e-books and taking notes over images and files, and some of my friends have the 9th generation and they're happy about it, so I'll do the same👍
10:34 On some news I found, the iPad Air 4 rated higher battery with about 7606 mAh compared to 5078 mAh on the iPad Mini 6 btw good vid! Just keep going until 1M subs !
i think for this Mini form factor, Apple will have to engineer some sort of 'accordian design' that can be compacted when not in use, and then stretched out as needed.
You could try adding "English" subtitles to your videos. I like them a lot, but I can't understand English well, so the subtitle would help with machine translation.
I hate apples names like "liquid retina" and that virtually doesn't mean anything :(. So it is lcd, led or OLED?. I wish I could just watch one video to understand but looks like I'll have to do more digging.
This is the video that iv been looking for…. I totally agree that ipad mini lacks keyboard supoort which is lacking to what i need. Im more into a typing person for my productivity in my ipad. Also the bigger screen makes me satisfied for the contents im viewing, like watching movies. Maybe, the mini isnt for me because of the lack-of keyboard support and smaller screen. My bags fits the ipad air4. Most bags are comatible with 11” gadgets so thats okey for travelling plus the thin form factor of the magic keyboard. Thank God i chabged from ipad air4. From my previous air3 model…
I am glad to find and watch your review! Thank you for your explanation, I've decided to buy iPad Air 4 and will be saving for it. I think based on their price and storage, Air4 is a match for me.
I have iPad air and I don't regret, the battery is suuuuperbb, good camera and the size is best if u are a student, u can do a lot. I have it in color blue love it💙💙
Phone & tablet size has disproportionately risen lately when they were always originally intended to be small, the iPhone mini 13 & the iPad mini 6 are the perfect combination of fully functioning lightweight powerful products in a compact portable format, expensive yes but totally unique & niche.
Can I get away with purchasing the 64GB storage option on the mini? It would just be for light use, not work or anything. 256GB seems like WAY too much.
I like my ipad mini 6, the reason why i love it because of its size. Ive been to bigger screen and its hassle to bring ot outside, when in smaller screen is easy to carry.
Okay, you compared these two for their value. But for me the Air vs the Pro was a better comparison, because I coming from a completely different direction. If it’s screen real estate I’m going pro, but for portability I’m going mini. But when this event was announced I was looking for an upgrade and enhanced iPod touch. So when this mini beast was presented I was overwhelming surprised and thankful. This is the device I actually wanted. Which for my purpose I’ll dub it an iPod touch XXL, or iPod touch Pro. This mini suits my need, but with far more features and power along with longevity, than I could’ve ever hoped for had there actually been an upgraded iPod touch. So in my situation you had compared the wrong two devices. Because like I mentioned earlier if it’s about screen size then I’m going pro, but for portability I’m sold on the mini, and the Air and the regular ipad have no use for me. So I guess I’m an outlier as to whom this video is directed towards.
I upgraded from a mini 5 to 6 and the usb c was the the only upgrade I liked. The battery life sucks and I prefer the thin size and bezels of the 5 so I went back to the mini 5.
To me. I like the mini for surfing and smaller tasks. I never take it out of the house, but I still prefer the smaller size. As for gaming I use the ps5, ad the iPads are to small for gaming in my opinion. Great video 👌🏻👌🏻
Oh geez. This is such a good video. The part where you demonstrated what it’s like for FaceTime on both devices side by side, sound as well just blew my mind. It wasn’t a comparison I needed but that you provided that for those who do need it is just fantastic !!! Any chance you could give me your input here? I have the iPad Air 4. I have the iPad mini 4. Use the mini for reading but interested in upgrading. I would only use the new mini for reading. Won’t need 256gb. My mini 4 is 128gn and my book library is big but not even 10gb lol. I’m still unsure if I should upgrade or why upgrade when I can keep using the mini 4. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 I would continue to play some games and procreate on the air. I mostly stream on my iPhone with a new one on the way 😬
still proudly use iPhone 6 as my daily driver, other than poor battery life, everything else is fine for me... have an m1 macbook air for rest of my things...:)
Hard to justify for an iPad Mini 6 (256gb) and iPad Pro 11" (128GB) when the price difference is only AUD$200/USD$145 approximately. Which one will you go for?
I’m a university student and I’m debating on getting the iPad mini or the iPad. I’ll mainly use it for taking notes in class. Which one do you think I should choose
I’ve had an iPad 5th generation for the longest time and I upgraded to iPad Air 4 nearly a year ago and it feel so much better and I like the fairly big screen, I use this for gaming and watching content :)
iPad mini 6 destroys the air in every task better gaming better multi tasking better cameras better ergonomics better display better use of the hardware. Glad I got rid of the air.
Thank you for this excellent video. Do you feel iPads are in a position where they can replace laptops from a productivity level? Keep up the great work and take care!
I can see why air4 would be better, but I still traded mine for mini6 due to its size. My hand would constantly get sore with that beast, especially when taking notes
How does the Mini 6 stack up against the Mini 5? Like many pilots, the Mini is my iPad of choice for aviation software. Adding the second generation pencil is a major plus, but am curious how much improvement the new processor is over the 5’s.
I want an iPad mainly for art and watching videos so since I’m on a tight budget I’m wondering if the the smaller screen is worth the trade off to save $100

I’ve got the iPad mini 5 and I’m looking for an upgrade. I think the newer generation mini would be the best option. I mainly do gaming and video editing.
What would you recommend for a student with a MacBook, that wants an iPad just for taking notes? (No keyboard etc)
ipad air 4 or ipad 9
Thank you for doing this comparison ! Your video is the first one I’ve seen on RUclips comparing the two in-hand as opposed to just going over specs
I want to use it mainly for note taking and studying purposes, but I already have a MacBook Pro and I have a hard time justifying having such a large iPad, but I also have a hard time deciding if the screen is too small for note taking
Have you decided yet? I'm in your same position and I don't know which is better for university, having already a macbook
If you have a Costco around you, I recommend buying from there, they have free 2 year warrantee and good deals :)
P.S. my main concern with the 11" was portability, but this thing is super light and still very portable.
But thank you very much, in fact the iPad mini would be too small for e-books and taking notes over images and files, and some of my friends have the 9th generation and they're happy about it, so I'll do the same👍
Best reviewer!
not doing jokes the entire time or screaming thank you for that 🙏🏽
Definitely added value so I will definitely leave thumbs up
I appreciate your feedback and your support! Thanks for being part of the channel!
10:34 On some news I found, the iPad Air 4 rated higher battery with about 7606 mAh compared to 5078 mAh on the iPad Mini 6
btw good vid!
They are coming - waiting for them to process.
@@TechGearTalk Thank you very much, your videos are of the highest quality. I'm from Brazil! :)
I hate apples names like "liquid retina" and that virtually doesn't mean anything :(. So it is lcd, led or OLED?.
I wish I could just watch one video to understand but looks like I'll have to do more digging.
As a pubg player, i need to go for the mini 6 , can't wait to feel how smooth the game runs with the a15 bionic chip😍😍😍😍😍😍
So glad I could help. Thank you for being part of the channel!
13 mini & ipad mini 6 are perferct combo
I have the mini 5 and to be honest, I can’t find fault in it. For me the Ipad Air 4 is the better upgrade should I need to buy another.
The larger iPad’s are a totally different experience than the Mini 5 you might want to keep the Mini 5 around if you upgrade to the iPad Air 4.
Thanks for the clear explanation! Was going to buy ipad 4 :)
iPad Air 4 is a beast
Leaning towards more on gaming and netflix/youtube here and there so i guess it's the ipad mini 6 for me. Nice content btw 😀
This is the first video of yours I have watched and I am very impressed with the quality and amount of detail in the video. Well done. 👍
I appreciate the kind words, Wade! Thanks for being part of the channel!
Can I get away with purchasing the 64GB storage option on the mini? It would just be for light use, not work or anything. 256GB seems like WAY too much.
oh this is what I'm waiting for!!! subbed!
So I guess I’m an outlier as to whom this video is directed towards.
dude i’m torn between ipad mini 6 and ipad air 4 this review help me decide thank you!
I upgraded from a mini 5 to 6 and the usb c was the the only upgrade I liked. The battery life sucks and I prefer the thin size and bezels of the 5 so I went back to the mini 5.
This is the content that I’m waiting for. Thank you so much and God bless☺️
Thanks a lot for making this video. I was really confused on which to select for my study purpose. Really appreciate the work . Thanks!
Gonna wait until Black Friday to get the iPad Air
To me. I like the mini for surfing and smaller tasks. I never take it out of the house, but I still prefer the smaller size.
As for gaming I use the ps5, ad the iPads are to small for gaming in my opinion.
Great video 👌🏻👌🏻
Comparing screen size is like comparing apples and oranges. The iPad mini is had solely for portability! Trying to draw parallels is mute.
Great video im trying to get a new apple ipad for my pops he has a old mini bad screen but still works so the ipadmimi6 would be great for him
This is what I'm looking for! My choice is between the two. I have an old iPad mini 2 so I need to buy something new.Air is not much bigger.
I’m really happy with my iPad Mini 6, little powerhouse of usefulness for me, does all that my iPad Pro did, loving it! 👍🏻👌🏻😊 UK
Hard to justify for an iPad Mini 6 (256gb) and iPad Pro 11" (128GB) when the price difference is only AUD$200/USD$145 approximately. Which one will you go for?
We were all waiting for this!
I’m a university student and I’m debating on getting the iPad mini or the iPad. I’ll mainly use it for taking notes in class. Which one do you think I should choose
Mini
Mini, it’s smaller and easier to take around. I was taking my 10.2” iPad and it was way too big.
Air, more comfortable to take notes and multi task. I use it for college btw
Wait for the updated Air. As it’s behind in specs across the board. And the most expensive of the bunch considering what you get for your $$$
Thank you for this excellent video. Do you feel iPads are in a position where they can replace laptops from a productivity level? Keep up the great work and take care!
With the Magic Keyboard, a Ipad, Ipad Air or a Ipod Pro will totally be a good replacement for laptops on the productivity level
Hey waiting for ipad 9th gen review + unboxing , post it soon
I can see why air4 would be better, but I still traded mine for mini6 due to its size. My hand would constantly get sore with that beast, especially when taking notes
Great review! Thank you for your time, expertise and professionalism.
I appreciate the kind words. Thank you for being part of the channel!
Nice and detailed one bro..

You should put comparison rear camera video too man. Very nice
I appreciate the suggestion!

This is the video I was waiting for … 👋 here a new subscriber… 🇨🇦
Thanks, very informative. Which external controller can be used for playing games? Thanks.
Really helpful thanks
I will be taking notes and school work and gaming I don’t know witch one to get
Air 4
Hmmmm, the choice is tough choosing between them, I will prefer a DEX supporting Samsung tablet.
It's hard to choose.
Omg cant wait to have this in my hands!! 😭😭
I didn't even know I needed this info!
Hopefully it was helpful! Thanks for being part of the channel!
mini all the way! had mine for a day now and cant put it down the one handabiliy is the best on the mini!
Which one would you personally recommend ?
I love your video,,so specific ❤️
Just searched up for this and wow its uploaded 2 hours ago.
I guessed that you will make this video before it was uploaded
How does the Mini 6 stack up against the Mini 5? Like many pilots, the Mini is my iPad of choice for aviation software. Adding the second generation pencil is a major plus, but am curious how much improvement the new processor is over the 5’s.
Working on that video right now!
second! thanks for this info. It helped me decide which model to buy
Super glad it was helpful. Thanks for being part of the channel!
I have never used camera app on ipad so the quad led flash is not necessary for me
Seriously, this is what I have been waiting for 🤩. Now I know what I want to buy between this two.
Which one ?
So glad it was helpful! Thanks for being part of the channel!
@@randikapratama5789 I bought the ipad M1 😵
If u have a laptop u might choose the mini and u can use it for game, but if u want to make the ipad as a laptop than the air 4, or for school
I want an iPad mainly for art and watching videos so since I’m on a tight budget I’m wondering if the the smaller screen is worth the trade off to save $100
No you might as well go for a bigger display you get more drawing space and better multitasking.
@@tristanfialko yeah that’s what I’m thinking
Best video 👍❤️🎉🙏
Thanks so much!
@@TechGearTalk your welcome
Love your content wow 😳. Can you do an ipad mini 6 vs an ipad pro comparison
Thank you! Yes, working on it!
@@TechGearTalk Thanks that would be great 👍😊👋.
