I’m so glad you did this video because I’ll be honest I’m not a big person on stuff like breakdowns or explanation but I sat down for the full 4 hours and was so bummed that there wasn’t more to just see this
I like the Date fight the most, inside and outside the ring, the fight both was amazing and an eye opener for Ippo, I like how he regresses mentally a little, and the way it affects him many matches after, it’s absolutely peak writing.
I feel like Date was such a stepping stone that every other boxer after Date felt like they lack knowledge and experience. But they are carried by their crazy gifts instead.

I love this section in particular, Ippo finally getting open respect and admiration from his peers which vastly contrasts where he started at school, Sendo being the perfect rival for Ippo Date's introduction and immediately getting setup on both his character as a man and a boxer before finally showing us, by proxy Okita that Ippo has the potential to reach up there. Honestly feels that this rookie he took on as his whim to master a punch has already blown up to be much more then Date bargained for and it's already pretty personal.
