I've been playing alto for 2 years and our band teacher has decided to asign me to baritone sax when our usual player left school, this has been really helpful for practicing those low notes!
I love saxophone quartet for it gives pleasant and energetic sense. It sounds like playing duplication of same copy of melody in both upper and lower octave (both left and right hand) with addition of two more notes (keys) in between on foot-pumped harmonium or accordion with free bass system (same copy of melody on both right hand piano style keyboard manual and left hand bass buttons with addition of two more keys) when all the four instrumentalists simultaneously play. The voice of saxophones of each parts (soprano, alto, tenor and bass) are clearly understandable at some parts where one instrumentalist play and the other three instrumentalists keep silence.
Good work and thanks for sharing, Anthony. How can I access sheet music for individual parts? I have a subscriptions and searched Musescore and it doesn't seem to be publicly available. There are actually no Bohemian Rhapsody arrangements for saxophone quartet there!
Imthink the main problem here is there is no distinction between saxes, they were all set at the same dynamics with no difference, it sounds discordant.
