LaserPipe - Example Deployment

As part of the LaserPipe feasibility study, the team investigated a number of applications for this technology. One such application is the welding of pipe sections accessible only through pressure vessels, or manifold, maintenance ports. This animation is one such example where a snake-arm robot could provide a solution to difficult access.

These things are freakin amazing! You could just engineer a custom head and customize these to do ANY task anywhere. I can't wait until they reach consumer grade. I hope they come with many software alignment features and precision instruments, precise enough so if you give it a pen it could write tiny little text!
