Your Sonic CD style remixes are good man, no for no brother, it's still very good, I wanted to see some CD style versions of the Sonic Megamix 5.0 songs, I wanted to see Starry Night having versions of Past, Future Good and Futuro Ruim, I also wanted to see remixes by Angel Island, Emerald Hill and Studiopolis.
Personally really love this remixes. Of course you must come first so if you want to skip whatever time period it's up to you. Unless it is a bad future or past because then I'm... going to do nothing and repeat the previous sentiment :D. Jokes aside, I do tend to like past and bad future more for some reason for both the Sonic CD and your remixes.

You are really good at doing the style of the original song in a way where it feels like this is how it would sound if it wasn't getting limited by a console or handheld system's sound chip. I know this is just a cover/remix but somehow it feels more like the "original" than the ingame version?

It's the synth lead at 0:19. Basically, it's a result of forcing a second oscillator to synchronize with the primary oscillator when it's playing at a different frequency. You get especially interesting effects when the frequency of the secondary oscillator is CHANGING with respect to the primary
