Go to Guilin. Go soon. It's one of the most impressive landscapes I've ever encountered. It wasn't until I was there that I understood that Chinese landscape paintings aren't the invention of the artists.

You, along with a handful of other RUclipsrs, are definitely an inspiration to get back to traveling. I used to have the chance to travel constantly, but now, not so much. I decided to go back to school, so it is temporary, and after I finish my AA this year, next year I move to another place for Uni. I'm looking forward to moving again, away from the home town, and friends and family for the challenge of living somewhere while having to accomplish a goal. That will be a new experience. Its not just for a job. Anyway, keep on trucking and inspiring!

Hey Poppy! I just want to say you also have fans like myself who watch all your videos but never left a comment. Thank you for sharing your experiences in China, good and bad. First, I am extremely impressed by your positivity in life. I still remember how you laughed together with the scam taxi driver in Beijing or how you took an adventurous detour in Nanjing. You inspired me on how I can deal with things when I travel to a different country. Second, You may not have experienced this, but as a Chinese living abroad, I am sickened by the biased reports towards China, like all the time. You showed the world the other side of China, the human aspect. The average Chinese people are not that different from the average Americans or European. For all that, thank you for taking the time, making these videos, and sharing them with the world!

    Poppy,
In case this might help you:
One time I strained my back and it didn't heal for many weeks. The pain was so bad at night that I couldn't sleep because there was no way I could position my body so that it would stop hurting. I went to a chiropractor who jumped all over me and made it worse. I was getting more and more fatigued from lack of sleep. Finally saw a doctor who told me the reason it wasn't healing was because I was constantly reinjuring it due to involuntary tension from the pain. He gave me a prescription for some muscle relaxing pills. Finally I could sleep without pain and my back was soon healed.

    • @WheresPoppy
      @WheresPoppy  6 лет назад +1

Hey yeah my back is actually cured now but I did take lots of muscle relaxers haha. But the truth is, stretching and water is what fixed my back.

hey, poppy~here is a suggestion from a guilin local...please go to guilin in late march or april cause spring is one of the most beautiful time to visit guilin , also summertime is a good choice as well you'll enjoy the water there, but do not go to guilin in late may or june espacially when it comes to the dargonboat festival...because you'll see nothing but rain and rain and flood at this period of time....

If your back problem is an issue with muscles (like you overstretched yourself causing muscle damages), you can just buy some pads made with Chinese medicine. They are extremely cheap and common and very effective. Been using that for years whenever I hurt myself in gym.

Great job Poppy keep up the adventure. I have been watching your youtube for while now. There are several places in China that I highly recommend you to go, Xinjian and Tibet in September. Chengdu and Chongging in October. Here is what I highly recommend all foreigners do if you have three weeks or more in China is taken a high speed train from Beijing to Chengdu. But take off in Shanghai, Hanzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, Yichang (see Three Gorge dams, and beautiful landscape), Enshi for grand canyon, Chongqing for hotpot and awesome landscape, cool outdoor activities (go in October), then, Chengdu a must for last stop in China, then head home and be happy:=))

I lived and traveled in china. My daughter was born in Beijing and is a special place, but my favorite part of china is on the other side of the country. I’d recommended visiting Kashgar (Old city)and Qinghai (Ta’er monastery) you can get there by high speed train. I’d highly recommend visiting Tibet😊I’m not a big fan of big cities like Shanghai and Shenzhen, but it’s worth visiting as well.

I think for me the spitting was caused by bad air pollution. I used to get so much mucus from the sulfur and dusts in my nose I just had to spit it out to feel comfortable. I use paper napkins to spit. Living in the US I never had to spit, not even once. My nose just doesn't make any mucus I guess the air is the main reason.

Poppy, I heard from your videos that in late 2018 you went through an emotional crisis(boyfriend related ) and a financial crisis. And what country you came to for family support, emotional support and financial support? The good old USA as it should.
I grew up with a saying " I can't say I would not drink from this water because I wouldn't know if life would force me to drink from that water "
When everything goes bad somewhere else, there is always home, the good all USA.
    God Bless the USA.

Kambucha is fermented tea. It's like the fountain of youth. Literally a colony of living organisms (probiotics). Models drink it. I heard it's better then spring water. You can make it yourself. Expensive very to buy. A video of extremely healthy foods with like info on healing properties and root stories of myths and origins would be amazing probably for everyone else too. I pray your arms and being are made wide enough for many great things to beheld.

Hi Poppy, I love ur video, I have not go back to China for 7 years, your video give me new perspective on my country. And I want to make a travel suggestion. If you have time, you should go to Guizhou, that's where my hometown is.(go there in summer, the summer is supper nice)because Guizhou is surrounded by mountains, the landscaping is beautiful. And there is population for Hmong people and their culture. The food in there is amazing too, and it is only local to Guizhou, you should try 丝娃娃,恋爱豆腐果,老素粉,糯米饭,则耳根,花溪牛肉粉。茅台酒。... There is so many. I hope I have convinced you. Haha, I have my little private reason for the suggestion, because I haven't go back for so long, my mom had told me my hometown has changed a lot, so I want to see it through your lenses. Hope u don't mind.

Hi Poppy, here's a fan from China,I love your videos very much.
In fact there is a website bilibili.com in China where there's some people are translating you video and added some subtitles for the videos(I don't know did they asked you for permission).
So there is a lot of your fans on Bilibili.com.They like your video because your viewpoint is neutral(so do I),and you alway introducing some part of our country which is harder to dicovered for native people.
I believe you can do better!
Btw I'm living in Changsha, the provincial capital of Hunan which is the hometown of Mao.Changsha is also called the Star's City because here's so many activitie in the night, people can hang out likr for whole night. And Changshas also a historical city,we got many old street, temple's,and here's a famous acient academy on the Yuelu mountain.
I hope you can come and have fun!
