    You can tell Tom from Fatal Force loves his job as a guide. Showing a fellow fishermen the tricks and sticking around to watch him nail them. A true teacher right there.

      The best part of teaching is the messages later on that the clients are catching them good on their own

    OK, looks like I too, will have to revisit the meegs. I've been doing alright on a goby tube imitation, but not THAT good! Cheers Robo.

    Man that was awesome and informative. And, thanks for making a point of showing the adipose on the opening laker after I bugged you about it so much. Then again, I think the later laker had his adipose missing (the one with RV clipped)...😁

    The 6+ minute hook set where the rod flew out of your hand was great! LOL I'd do the same if I had action like that.

    That's awesome. I was coming in skunked today and some dude stopped me in the parking lot asking how I did. After I told him I marked a few but couldn't catch 'em he broke out his Meegs box and gave me the same lesson this guy probably did. Now, after that lesson and this video... I'm dropping by Trombly's tomorrow and trying my hand again.

    nice catch Steve made me laugh my ass off, i have been trying to tell my buddies how to fish the meegs and your video shows it perfect, i was over working it as well and probably tapping the bottom to hard and kicking up too much dust but suttle movements seems to trigger them

      Reel Canadian Lunker Hunter fishing is such a humbling sport. If you don't stay open minded, you'll get left in the dust. When experienced anglers talk, I listen.

      Sounds like solid advice... on the Meegs you had on, was that hair or did you have a plastic skirt?

    Was that a double trilene knot the guide was using to keep the meegs tail up? It looked like he pulled it all the way to one side to keep the tail up??

    Hahaha that one hook set made me laugh out loud! I had the privilege after I beat cancer to go with Tom as my buddies paid for the trip as celebration. AMAZED non stop action! So simple I felt dumb like you said. Tight lines Steve great video

    hey steve, quick question for you. First, what size meegs do you most feequently use? Second, what Lb leader do you tend to use for lakers/whities

  • @robandannetteful
    @robandannetteful 6 лет назад +1

    Wow! Do you tie your line directly to the meegs eyelet and slide the knot to the rear of the eye, then gently bounce the nose on the lake bottom, making the meegs look like it is feeding on the bottom?

  • @bradfishleigh2148
    @bradfishleigh2148 6 лет назад +1

    Steve are you just suspending it a foot or so off bottom and then when you mark fish drop it down and bounce it? Looks deadly

      Brad Fishleigh just when I'm being lazy and don't want to jig it

    What do you have on the Meegs? Looked like some sort of skirt?

    • @kyles6260
      @kyles6260 6 лет назад

      Dennis G mini tube jig cut in half to make a skirt. Thread on the skirt with a newer meegs as it has a bait holder on it now.

      You should I bet a lot of people would watch, I've been getting on the schools and such but they bite weird and they have came up to just under my ice hole when there is a school for about half hour then they vanish, sorta weird tbh.

    • @SteveRowbothamfishing
      @SteveRowbothamfishing  6 лет назад

      sounds like it could be herring

    • @inthezoneeeechief
      @inthezoneeeechief 6 лет назад

      No they were whities as we were catching them but it was strange how close they came, we bumped bottom and no luck but when reeling up they came in a total swarm for roughly half hourish.

      Scott Cunningham it's gonna be difficult to explain without seeing or feeling it. Ultimately, the easiest way to explain is that I was overworking it.
