  • In this episode, we learn exactly how much larger the production of water and gas is compared to the production of oil after a breakthrough occurs. We do this by using the Mobility Ratio, which quantifies the flowrate differential along various reservoir sections. The numbers make it perfectly clear why a breakthrough of water or gas severely inhibits oil production, showcasing the need to invest in extensive water or gas handling and separation systems on the surface.
