Panaji Mala area is conservation zone strictly governed by the Govt. rules for heritage conservation.But it is sad that All along the Nevgi band and the Mala lake illegal encroachments and haphazard permanent concrete structures have mushroomed and blocked the drains and natural flow of rain water. Govt. and CCPC should act swiftly and demolish such illegal structures so that original residents of Mala can live in peace and comfort. Such strict action will be a Stern warning to future illegalities leading to flooding and man made disasters in this area.

Kunal Dalvi you are absolutely right all these are illegal houses in 1975-77 there was a small prawn processing factory and at the very end of the band a small hut of the manshekar was there, all these are illegal votebank hutments even the scrap yard is illegal
