- If you want to learn where to move in Doubles, this video is for you.
In doubles, there are two key formations you need to know.
1) Front and back, the offensive formation
2) Side by side, the defensive formation
Additionally, there is a rotation movement that is used to add more pressure to your opponent.

Oscar for acting
I like the guy at the back
Not moving at all while posing like that for so long
So funny

Legend says that he is still there waiting for the bird
I do that too 😅
The humour in your videos make them more watchable than other people's badminton guides. Thx

Awesome! Good luck!
Your videos have been very helpful! I’m a new badminton player and I really enjoy your videos! Thank you! Keep up the good work!
That's awesome! I'm glad you enjoy the vids :)
I used to play as a kid. Barely ever got doubles, but really loved losing them cause it meant doing less switching around lol.
Now, as I'm trying to get back to badminton, it's all double games and the question of "where to move" is on my mind every time. Thank you for putting it out there on the internet! :)
I need a warm-up video. Thanks a lot.
I can watch and learn from your video full time every day without boring because your presentation is fun to watch and sometime that make me laugh. Also your explanations are easy to understand. Now I'm having so much fun with your videos!
TKS for the tips!
Great video, very useful!
Fun to watch and easy to grasp. Great presentation and game play. Thank you for sharing
Me and my wife are exactly like this lol
We have only started playing badminton in the past 2 months
We always get in each other’s way with my wife telling me to stay in the back !!!!
Time to practice! :D
Another informative video. Thanks a lot man 😋.
Thanks for all the awesome content. Please do post warm-up and cool down videos.
Please also include videos on how to do stretching to help heal the pain in knees (especially when one is flat-footed), and shoulder after a game.
very informative since i am a coach in badminton and i have double is my winning player. It really give me new idea on how to change formation.
Definitely would love to watch a warm up video
Hi Anindj! It's coming up this coming Wednesday :)
Nice i can also download this for offline learning, thanks
Love ur vids. They are helpful and FUN to watch ur presentation
Thanks for the kind words sir! :)
You are the great and good coach and trainer...
Love you...
What I observe in top matches is often when smashes from a rear partner gets returned high cross court, the front partner retreats diagonally to keep the smashing going. This is a more advanced kind of double pressure rotation. requiring high level of speed.
Very helpful! ❤
It is a very good Video . Like to know more about the doubles defence and lot more. keep up the work BG Badminton Academy. Love you Guy's. will share all to my friends. Thank you.
Aww thanks Sankar! :) It's gonna take a while as we've so much content planned ahead :/ But I've noted it down!
Plz bring it on more doubles videos with more details of the format and the various drills to improve it!
Gotcha Ajay!
Hey, i would like to see how you play in a match! Could you do a video of you playing against someone please?

Thank you for the kind words Shivam brother
Always enjoyed your videos - please make more. You Singlish reminds and makes me want to eat durian lol.
It's durian season by the way! :D
Really good video. Could you please do one about mixed doubles play? There is so little information on youtube about mixed doubles it would be great to have a nice clear breakdown like this, but with mixed formation. Thanks!
Great idea! :) Added to my upcoming video ideas!
It's essentially the same, you just want to rotate when your partner is in front. This means he should move to a wide attack, you can hit a cross smash and then move forward.
A separate video on it would help many, so go Gerald! ;) You can do it!
I love this video 😅😅 very funny and you explained it very well thanks 😎😂😂😂😁I learned something 🤗🤗
Thank you for posting.
This is for better players. What type of “rotation” or positional drills would you suggest for the footwork- challenged, poor hitting beginner?
Phil, coach in 🇬🇧
This vedio is very helpful for me.. Thanks😃😃
Great video..have subscribed! Wish you all the best. Now how about singles strategy, please?
Thanks for the good video👍
It seems that your video quality is getting a lot better!
Thank you for your support! I'm always learning :)
Your partner is so good at being still. He deserves and Oscar!!
You made the doubles little easier for me!!
Thank you for this. For someone like me who played Badminton WITHOUT knowing this info, it was really hard :( Everytime I lose in a doubles match, I know it was me because I am confused when I am in front. XD
You made it simple n superb
Good work bro
Keep doing it
Thank you! Can't do it without the support of you guys :)
Very helpful demonstration
Can you guide on basic exercises to strengthen the wrist , forearm and shoulder ? Also how do we tone calf and thigh muscles .? Quite often players get cramps in the calf .
During the back player hitting smash, both the men should be parallel or the forward one near the net itself?
Yes we want warmup videos!
双压,说的很好!这个视频是给进阶的球友们学习的,双打的轮转确实是非常重要的。喜欢你的视频,很棒!
哪里哪里,谢谢你的支持! :)
一定支持!希望有机会和你当面请教!
Singaporean living overseas. Missed the accent. Useful lessons. Keep making the videos.
Thanks for the kind words and visit SG sometime when you're free! Have a great Sunday
Wow. Nice teaching Sir. Thanks

Your English is very good and it is very easy to understand your instructions. Excellent video.
Ur partner stands so straight and never moved lol
Very useful and entertaining video! Your backhand power drive looks pretty cool, could you do a video on how to drive better next? Cheers
Sure thing! Thanks for the comment Justin!
Nice guide
That was excellent! I had no idea about this basic system of playing doubles. I’ve been dreading doubles simply cuz I don’t know where my teammate wants me to stand. Thank you so much for this video.
Thanks Johny, touches my heart to see comments like this ;) do share this with your friends so they'll be able to apply and coordinate it with you too!
@@Bgbadminton already posted it on our badminton WhatsApp group and the whole gang is excited to practice them next sunday.
Question: In 'attack position' which is the first priority position (compared to the 'defense position'), when my front guy LIFTS a shuttle at the "middle" position of the front row (front 3 positions left center and right, and back 3 positions left center and right). He lifts at Front middle position... how do I decide which side to go to (left court or right court) for our defense position?
Thank you!
@@johnybrokeit This deserves a heart! the front player can return to whichever side is better for him, and the back player can react to it! This is because the back person can easily see where the front player goes while the back player can't and shouldn't turn back to see where his/her partner goes. Hope this helps Johny ;)
Gerald Ong o okay, so I focus on my front guy’s decision for this one. Cool.
Yes it helps a lot to know this, thank you very much.
thank god for this video. i was practicing doubles but unfortunately iam problem with switching.
Thank you so much...
Yes we do want warm up videos!!
I have some on my channel if you're interested, let me know if you like it.
Useful for me!
Very good techniques love all the videos very useful
Thanks for the kind words Sanjoy!
Coach can we have more of doubles footwoork ,coz the footwork for doubles is much different than singles .can u show some footwork drills for doubles
Good Video. One move that looked odd to me. At 6:47, why did the back player pick up the drop shot and not the front player?
it is highly helpful. compliment from Nepal
Great video! Very informative even for a players like myself who has been playing badminton for years. Regarding head shot. I've been trying to explain to a guy in my group not to do full arm swing smashes at opponent's face. He's doing it at the net. Can we issue him a red card? This is a casual game. Everyone else when they see someone in a vulnerable position they smash into an empty space or do something that is much safer. We rather lose the rally than cause a life changing eye injury.
I once saw a player crouch down and cover his face with the racquet and the smash was still aimed at his face. He had no chance of hitting a return because it was initially a mishit that went high above the net and he had no time to run away from the net.
Its unsportmanslike but if you are in a close game you dont want to take any chances.
thanks , your videos help me alot
That's awesome! So happy to hear that :)

I like your video, especially your partner pose haha
Really good to watch bro
when i am palying match i am loosing my confidence and i am missing very eassy shatle also
but in normal time i amo loosing single shatle also what to do for that can you explain me what should i have to do for partice
Nice video n guide
Great! Kudos
Loved the video! Can you please do one for mixed doubles!
Not much difference. You always want to rotate when the front court player is in the back and the back court player is in the front. If there's no preference, you can adjust your attack (wide, wedge, channel) to the situation alone. When you want to rotate, use the wide attack formation and a cross court smash as a safe option.
Sure! There's lots of things to cover :)
More videos of doubles needed
Nice explanation
informative....thanks😊😊
Cheers and hi five Cats lover! :)
Please put a video on how to tackle divorce area shots.
Can you pls do the Warm up exercise video (tutorial) 😀
really helpful
Great video! Although the volume is pretty low and hard to hear, still a great video though!
Hi, i watch ur videos regularly... They r great.. Thanku... I have a req... Could you please do a video on how to be ready for defending a smash but also be ready for a drop.... I mean the footwork... Sometimes i get stuck in the smash defence position, not able to attend the disguise drop.... If u could do a video on it.... It would be very useful....
This is a really good suggestion J P, thank you!
Thank you idol
In case we have hit a clear ,how to position ourselves ,should we be in attacking position or defensive position
Please make a vedio on warm up
So only in attack or defend position, one person is in the front and the other in the back. After a clear the partners split to the side?
Propet warm up please.
first time i fnd your videos not that boring.
1:50~4:26 your partner is sooooo hilarious! 🤣
i would like to see more of him.
Haha my brother is in medical school so it's gonna be hard to catch him around these days :( I'll let him know the good news!
In rotation if i drop from 3 or 4 point from back rather than push, then should i come to front or stay back and my partner block from front?
Good trainer
Thank you
Cheers!
I need a video like this but for mixed doubles 🏸😍
bro please make a video on doubles defensive grip
"Shuang Ya" is more like "full-on pressure". Both player focused on aggression only.
Yep! While editing I realized I didn't film that part :/ So the best I did was a freeze frame to illustrate the point - where instead of the front player rotating backwards, the player continues to pressure on the other side, resulting in the pair pressuring on both sides.
The back that rotated forward on one side, with the front moving to the other side, hence "Shuang Ya"
Thanks for the comment Aason!
hi nice video i enjoyed wathing it :)
