I really am excited to start this program. I love seeing the work your daughter did but what really struck me the most is when you said that if you hadn't done this program, these stories "would have been lost in her mind forever." That is what hooks me and I've already got the sample but now I want the program! Question - my son is currently in a Montessori school but we are leaving for a long travel that will carry us through the winter break and I'm wondering if this is doable "on the go?" I think it will be because we do want to dedicate time to learning regardless as we travel, but I still want a guide of some sort! Thanks for sharing this video! I adore Julie Bogart as well!
My daughter loves to narrate to me while I write her stories. I love her stories and her imagination. I have not used Brave Writer before. I will have to check it out.
Thank you so much for sharing this!! I have been looking at Brave Writer for a while. And I think your results have just convinced me I need to use this program. So wish I would have found it when my oldest was in kindergarten! I just purchased our first Arrow Guide and Partnership in Writing. Thanks for the walkthrough!!
I would love to see a video of how you taught the fairy tale project. I bought jot it down but I struggle to read instruction. I need videos and audio!!
We started out with dry erase. I'd write, he would write, we would do lots of color by numbers, I did tracing as dry erase and after he did that once or twice all the way through then we would pull it out of dry erase pack and use pencil. At first I did a animal picture and a question he would color the animal I'd ask the question he would make up a story and I would write it down for him in Pre-K. He's just now starting to strong together words he knows. I do one spelling word a day and ask for a picture of the word and over time he is realizing from reading and spelling he can put a few if them together into sentences. I think this sounds great for where we are right now.
Thanks so much for giving us a look into the "Jot It Down" program. I get overwhelmed when I head to that site. Did you purchase The Wand? The Writers Jungle? Why or why not? Are The Wand and Jot it Down supposed to complement each other?
I currently only have Jot it Down. I didn't purchase The Wand because my daughter was already reading. The Wand is like a Phonics Program. I will purchase The Writers Jungle provably next year. It teaches you how to teach writing.
Was the idea for the fairy tale project to come up with your own unique fairytales based on the original? I love that idea! Do they give samples in the Jot it Down book? Just looking at the sample download but I can't tell from that!
I'm kicking myself for not grabbing the fairytale Story Cubes from the Target dollar spot a few weeks ago. I can't find them anywhere now. Anyone have an idea of where to find them/comparable resources??
Thank you for this video. Super helpful! I'm on their website and it looks like they only have a digital version for the jot it down bundle. Did you print your own or am I just missing the way to order the physical book you have in the video?
I absolutely love the way you put this, “these would have been lost in her mind forever.” Yes! What a treasure you now have!
Thank you for sharing this! I have never heard of this writing curriculum. Fellow homeschool mama of 3 boys!💗
This popped up on my recommended videos today so I thought it was a new video.. clicked in to see that you made it two years ago. Still great!
I love this! Julie is amazing. You & your daughter did great work.
Thank you for sharing your experience with Jot It Down.

The same statement struck me re: if her ideas aren't written down they'd be gone forever.

You would love this then.

I hope you all love it!
Thanks for sharing this program. I knew of Julie Bogart but not the kindergarten program. I will have to look into it more.
Muy bueno el vídeo
Ahora con tu experiencia.
¿que le agregarías y que le quitarás??

Thank you so much for sharing! I am going to buy this program today.
Have you continued using this program? I plan to use it with my daughter & cannot wait!
We loved this program and not incorporate the methods into everything we do.
Thank you for this video, I’ve been curious to see inside of it. 🤗 this looks very interesting.
So amazing on Emily’s stories !!! I need to get to reading her book I’ve had it too long .

@@TheWaldockWay how have you liked writer's jungle?

Jot it Down has that idea plus 9 more. It's an excellent writing curriculum.

Thank you so much for sharing! It looks amazing! ❤️ is this meant to last three years? Or what do you do in between?
The fairytale project itself lasted us an entire year. It is enough projects for two years for sure.
Love Julie and love Jot it down too!

Could you repeat this project the following years or where do you go from here?
You could or you can do similar projects like instead of fairy tales you could do myths or fables etc.
Have you done a review on your games?
I have not yet. There is a gameschooling series coming soon.
How did you print and spiral it like that?
Thanks for sharing!
If we are in the middle of kindergarten is it too late to start it ?
Do you buy once and then print out for multiple kids?
It's really more of a teacher's manual for your the parent. You buy and print once.
Are you still using grammar galaxy?
Yes we are!
Do you think this could be printed in black and white without losing much quality?
Yes, I think it would still be very useful without the color.
Can this be used with multiple grades? I'll have a K and 2nd this year.
YES! It definitely can.
Is there any handwriting included in the curriculum?
No, there is not handwriting in this one.
Are these items we can still order?
Would boys enjoy this too or just girls
