The funniest thing about STCs is that they are hard copies of chatGPT generated blueprints, (They are not even made by human minds, but by abominable intelligence) meant to dynamically solve the problems of human colonies the easiest and the most resource friendly way possible. They are always meant to be simple and self contained, not high tech at all. So, if a human colonist needed something to chop trees with, chatgpt showed him how to make an axe.

For an philosophical perspective, I think Killing a Being that was the manifestation/embodiment of a peice of law of the universe like Life or Death is an shit Idea and if the being can be locked up, it is better that thing was jailed than killing it that may hypothetically results of the destruction of said law.
