      You are absolutely right! I especially like how it propels the kayak or paddleboard. Perfectly forward. You still steer with your paddle like you always did. It doesn't feel any different than normal paddling, you just have a little bit of assist.

I loved your "natural air conditioning!!!" I do the same thing and we don't get quite as hot as you there. We've been a little cool here this summer due to all the smoke from wildfires blocking out the sun but we've still averaged into the high 90s. God speed! 🛶

    Love cheating with the Bixpy on my 380X. I modified the motor mount so the thrust is directed straight back versus its slightly angled up position due to the location of the skeg mount on the rear. No factual test number comparisons have been gathered, but my Pretendgineering Degree calculated a theoretical improvement 😂

      Hey Sean, thank you so much for watching and commenting! I do love having the ability to use the Bixpy motor. Some days when the conditions are tough in terms of wind or current, it is nice to have the Bixby. I mean after all, if paddling is your thing, you can paddle as you always did. With a bixpy motor, you just cover more ground. I really like that!

    Excellent video! I really enjoy watching your videos! Great job! I first purchased a RazorLite 393 and returned it. It was just to wobbly for me. I ended up getting the FastTrack 385 with the Minn Kota motor. I absolutely love my FastTrack. Very stable and moves really good in the water. Now I have to get the Bixpy motor. It's much easier to hook up to the kayak. Take care! Happy kayaking!

    • @KayakCliff
      @KayakCliff  11 месяцев назад +2

      Hi, thank you for watching and commenting! I use the sea eagle two-stage battery operated pump. You need the two-stage pump for drop stitch inflatables, so you can get to the high psi levels. The sea eagle pumps will have the right in details to connect to your razor light or any other Sea Eagle product. If you buy a pump from somewhere else, it may or may not have the right end detail, so you want to check.

    Hi CLIFF:👏 Got a great new item for your future reviews: The Pac motor.... WHY ?? Because it can go on ANY inflatable or non-inflatable kayak.... Would LOVE to see you run it through some drills.... It is at pacmotor with the Dotcom after it. 😊

    • @KayakCliff
      @KayakCliff  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi LJ - Thanks for sending info on the Pac Motor!! Looks really interesting.......There are going to be a lot of advancements in the E- Kayaking realm in the coming years. It's especially evident when you see how E-bikes have taken off! I do want the ability to paddle, while the motor is in use and that's what I like about the Bixpy. I can paddle like I always do and I also have a little assist from the motor so I can go farther. I'm big into fitness, so getting a work out when I'm out playing is important to me. It looks like, if I want to paddle, I need to raise the motors up so they are not in use, otherwise, I would probably hit them with my back stroke? Do you have a Pac Motor? I definitely would like to try one!

    • @LJ-jq8og
      @LJ-jq8og 11 месяцев назад +2

      @@KayakCliffNo Cliff, I do not have one.... BUT your excellent point about hitting them is something to think about... I had not even thought about that....
      FASCINATING how E-bikes and E-Kayaking will actually get more and more people out to exercise more because you know that you have that safety net IF you need it... ALSO great for exploring ! 😊

    • @KayakCliff
      @KayakCliff  10 месяцев назад +2

      Hi, thank you for watching, and commenting! I don’t believe the Bixpy’s noise is very intrusive. In this video, you can hear a steady hum in the background, and that is the motor. When you put it up on the higher speeds, you will definitely hear it, but it is not bad. On the medium to low speeds, you just kind of forget it’s there.
      It’s also nice to have if you want a Paddle into the wind or current, then turn off and remove and Just Paddle, like you normally would without a motor.

    • @KayakCliff
      @KayakCliff  11 месяцев назад +2

      I agree! I never offset my paddle blades to account for headwinds. I prefer to have them both in line with each other. It just boils down to paddler preference. Neither is right or wrong.

    Love the videos. What is the difference in paddling a lighter inflatable kayak from sea eagle to paddling a kayak that is heavier from pack a yak? Does the lighter kayak get tossed around a little more by the waves? Is it harder to paddle the heavier kayak? Thanks.

    • @KayakCliff
      @KayakCliff  11 месяцев назад +2

      Hi Jerry, thank you for watching, and your comments! Both the RazorLite and the Pakayak are superbly performing boats, considering they are both portable kayaks, which is all I use nowadays. I would say the speed of both boats is very similar, with the Packayak, edging out the razorlight in a tight race. I do not think because of the RazorLites lightness, that it gets tossed around anymore than any other kayak. They perform superbly in rough seas, as does the Packayak. What it comes down to is:
      Do you want more of a sit on top experience with quick and easy access to anything in the bow or the stern of the boat? Also easy entry with high weight carrying capabilities..
      Or, do you want more of a sit inside touring kayak type of paddle?
      With a Pakayak, being 24 inches wide and longer, it will naturally be a little bit faster.
      Both boats are very good performers, and my main go to’s. I must say, I really do appreciate the lightness of the RazorLite for carrying it around. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions?

    I got the 380x explorer this year since I had never kayaked and I wanted something my wife could feel comfortable riding in, but I was thinking of getting the razorlite for next spring. What is the choppiest or roughest conditions you’ve had the razorlite? I don’t plan on any whitewater or anything but I would like the option of paddling it on larger lakes.

    • @KayakCliff
      @KayakCliff  10 месяцев назад

      As long as waves are not breaking over the bow of the RazorLite, I have had great success in paddling in rougher waters. Probably 2 to 3 foot waves out in the open water. I do not like paddling any Kayak as much when these waves are wind driven with high winds. Just make sure you are comfortable with the “feel” of the boat in calmer waters, before you move out to rougher waters. Safe adventuring!

    Hi, enjoyed the video. Would the Razorlite be safe on the middle of the lake in those conditions? We have an Explorer but I want something lighter for myself. A Razorlite or the 3Sea Eagle 300X? Looking for something for lakes and rivers.

    • @KayakCliff
      @KayakCliff  11 месяцев назад

      Hi 👋 Thanks for watching and commenting! If I was in the middle of the lake that day with the 10-15 mph winds, I would have been ok, but it wouldn't have been fun. I wouldn't go out searching that type of water, but if it was a nice day and I got stuck, I would have made it back ok. I'm an experienced kayaker though and I have a good feel for paddling the RazorLite in many conditions. The 300X would be a very slow paddling kayak. If you want something that performs well with great speed, the RazorLite is it! If you are looking to paddle lakes and rivers up to class I rapids, the RazorLite would be an excellent choice. I'm saying this for paddlers up to 220 lbs. The RazorLite will hold up to 500 lbs, but this is evenly distributed weight. Realistically, I wouldn't load the RazorLite up with any more than 325 lbs, then you would still have a great performing boat (evenly distributed weight) I hope this helps! I'm attaching below more adventure videos of mine in the RazorLite + my affiliate link if you decide to purchase. I have the 300X and love it for white water and surfing at the beach. Take care and safe adventuring out there!

    any effects on paddling when the motor is off? Any drag? Like when battery is dead and you have to paddle it?

    • @KayakCliff
      @KayakCliff  8 дней назад

      I was actually surprised that it paddled fairly well with the motor turned off. I think the motors aerodynamic shape helps. Bottom line, if I'm not using the motor, I'm going to slide it out and paddle without it, if I have to go any great distance.

    Hi Cliff. Similar question as another poster here. About what size of wave do you think this kayak can handle?

    • @KayakCliff
      @KayakCliff  2 месяца назад

      Hey Keith, great question! It really all depends on the frequency of the waves and how tightly they are packed. If it is tightly packed waves like a fishbowl effect in a lake, 2 foot no problem. If they are spread out and not tightly packed, 3 foot.
      It really all depends on the skill of the paddler as well. If you are a moderate paddler, these figures that I listed above should be good. If you are more experienced, perhaps more than 3 foot waves that are not tightly packed. Also, I am making the assumption of a paddler less than 200 pounds.
