Just wanted to give you feedback on your recent inclusion of your friends' opinions on racquets during the "hitting section" at the end of your videos. Great idea! Very helpful as we can see the contrast between play styles and how that influences racquet preference.

Switched to the Tour from Ezone 98/305. Suffer from medial epikondylitis, incredibly soft/plush feeling, low vibrations, strung with Volkl V Feel 16 at 20kg that adds a ‘bite’ for more spin.
Fairly happy with the 305, had added weight at 3 and 9, 2gr each ,4 in total. Still the stock form of the tour is much better for my arm. Not afraid to let go, great depth super spin potential, very solid and ‘sharp’ on the slices as well. The V Feel 17 /1.25 at 21-22 kg will be the next set Ill try for a touch more feel. Thanks for your review, it made me do this change.

Nice review. Have you tried it under real match pressure yet? Even watching this video I see your ball looping higher, deeper, and flatter than with the Radicals because the Ezone is more sluggish and doesn’t come over the ball as fast. I would be concerned those might start sailing out under pressure.

2 years late. But after buying this racket. Your comment on the muted feel is quite interesting because you're playing with damper. I played with damper all my life and I agree with you. This racket doesn't need a damper and you'll gain more connectedness that way.

I love this frame too, but i feel a little slow on the forehand. Will have to try and add some weight to the handle.

I don't think adding weight will make any racket faster.... the swingweight will not come down by making the racket heavier ☝🏻

I've been playing with this frame for a couple of months and totally agree with you. You need to be able to generate your own power. It definetly gives you great control and stability. I personnaly don't have issue with maneuvrability and racquet head speed but understand that could be a problem for some players. I don't know if it's only me but Yonex grip feels a bit beefier than let's say Babolat, Head etc...

I have previously been using the Wilson Ultra Tour 98 v.2 and the Ezone 98 Tour provides much more power and a disproportionately larger sweet spot. I added weight to the Ultra to have a similar balance and SW as the Ezone.

I have hit with the 2020 Ezone 98 and 98tour, but for me I am sticking with my DR98+, there’s not a racquet out there that will allow you to both loop and crush the ball as well as the DR models. I also have very long strokes with fast headspeed.

Hi Jonas, I'm in need of your take: I play with L3 grip size, but with recent Yonex racquets, they have felt a bit fat in my hands after wilson pro overgirp. I notice that you used the L2 size in your review. Do you also experience this grip size difference? I'm scared to try L2, but perhaps it may be the right fit for me too.

Hey tennisnerd! I'm a huge fan from Italy. I recently got an amazing deal on the ezone 98 which I couldn't turn down. Unfortunately, I would have loved the tour model. Can you recommend me things I could do to the stick to get it to feel and balance like the tour version (location and quantity of lead tape). Keep up the great work!

    Hey Jonas,
Thanks for the great review )) im gonna test this racket definitely.
How do you compare this racket to Tecnifibre t-fight 305 rs you have reviewed recently? seems like they are both head heavy, similar SW around 330, have plenty of plow through and stability.

How would you compare the 2020 Tour to the Blade v7 and the Ai98?
And how would you rank the Ai, Dr, 2020, and 2020 Tour versions for the most flex (regardless of the RDC readings)?

    • @vanvalium

Great review as usual. I've been following the all reviews of this racquet. As someone who plays with a lot of spin and putting a lot of wrist into the swing, would like to know how the ezone 100 if weighted up (keeping swing weight around 320) would compare to this. Is the 100 plusher than this. I like a lil more spin and power on serve.

I’ve been using k factor Wilson blades and the kfactor 95 for EEEEEEEEEVER now. Both are different weight specs and have similar feel to ball pocketing with almost any strings I’ve used at 56lbs. However, recently I tried out a few different yonex rackets due to popular demand. Weight specs were around 315-330grams (unstrung) with a 62-65 stiffness rating and a 7-8pt heads light.
My question is, why are yonex so string sensitive???? I strung the racket at 56lbs with MSV Hex Focus Soft (like Solinco Hyper G) and my arm almost broke into pieces, and then lowered it to 50lbs and STILL it felt like cardboard hitting balls! The off-centre shots are brutal and jarring, almost like the whole frame is bending or twisting. Quite the opposite of what most people say about these rackets.
Have you had any customers giving you similar feedback? And is there a string and tension you recommend for someone that is 5.0 player?

    • @TheJakenesbit
      @TheJakenesbit 2 года назад

Hoops are pretty stiff on yonex frames, with their lay ups. I put confidential at 53 pounds in and almost tore my rotator cuff in half lol. Switched to ptp at 50 lbs in my ezone tour and they match up beautifully. Needa lively softer string.

Can you compare this racquet with the 360+ Extreme Tour, XT Radical Pro and Touch Prestige MP. This might sound like a random list of racquet but they are my "MMR" right now. Would you mind comparing the feel on contact, the crispness, connectedness to the ball and relative launch angle. Thank you very much

  • @jetonmatik

For those who want to easily add some weight to the handle to make it a bit more headlight and without using lead or changing grips:
Two Canadian dimes (10 cent coin) fit exactly inside the butt cap cover, you can simply "click" them in on the inside. This adds 3.5 grams. I haven't tried it with Euro coins but one 2 cent coin roughly has the same 18mm diameter and should click in too. That adds 3 grams.

I'm in a similar spot to you, looking for something with a little more pop than my beloved DR98 but also smooth feeling. Tempted to give the 360+ Speed MP a try.
Hit with the 360 Radical MP but didn't like it; like a plank in my hands.
Also played with the 2020 Ezone 98 (non Tour, but with some lead added up to 312g) and it's good but not quite got the X factor of the DR, imo.
Good luck with the search. Post back if you strike gold.
