I love how the vocals are so... structured. They fit in with the electronic sound of the song, following the same tune repeatedly. It's quite intriguing, almost hypnotic.
Exactly. They tried it already with "Autobahn" and some others, following part of the German electronic scene which they helped create. Most electronics bands (including my favorites) followed suit. That came as a shock! I guess it's easy to forget that the 80s were 40 years ago for us who didn't live them, yet grew up with the movies and the music
Nice! Did you have a Walkman? Lol I remember having to change the batteries after a couple hours because the music would all of a sudden be half speed.
How can some songs just sound as fresh as straight outta stove, God.. this song brings back ample amount of my childhood moments flashing right in front of me. Time really flies.
I’ve only just discovered this song this year. My mind is absolutely blown to find out that his song came out in 1978. I would have assumed it was in the 90s or early 2000s. But no. In my opinion, I believe that Kraftwerk was a band that was seriously way ahead of time!
He influenced " The Farters" and that's about it. It was a rock band who never put out one single song. They are all dead now, probably of Fartphixsia.

Every single time I listen to this song, I am straight-away spirited back into my 1980s (early) childhood - I absolutely love most of that era's music! Greetings from San Diego, CA.🇺🇸
Timeless record. I have it on download and I had the single way back when it was released. This was at no1 in the UK for five weeks, when most other great artists at their peak were around. Some feat. I think this is also a lovely and simple tribute to models.
Magical musical hypnosis and time travel sound from the Gods of electronic music. Without them today's dance deep house, new age, techno and so on wouldn't exist.
The closest I can think of to what you've just described is an album called Promises. It's an album by Floating points (An electro artist who is also a neuroscientist) collaborating with the London symphony orchestra and Pharoah Sanders, jazz musician. It's an absolutely mesmerising album, probably the best thing I've heard in 2021.
I love Kraftwerk's music, for about half my life so far, I'll be around 60 in less than 2 decades, I plan..wish and hope to be listening to this...Underworld...and especially The Prodigy....peace ✌
Absolutely love this music. I’ve heard this about 30 years ago and have been searching for its title since then up to now but couldn’t find it. Then I heard it again on the radio today and immediately search it on youtube when the radio DJ mentioned the title, and boom! Replay button destroyed.
Fantastic! In a way it takes me back to the 80's, but when I hear it now it still doesn't seem old. But of course I was young back then. Anyway, I love the song!
They were so ahead of time when they crafted those tunes!........You must realise it was year 1978 when electronic music was something unreal and strange........They had the balls to create and produce something unique and daring.......Rest in peace FLORIAN SCHNEiDER! ☺
He was one of the early pioneers, but Tangerine Dream were doing it just as long, if not longer Plus you also had individual acts like Jarre, Vangelis, and Tomito doing it as well

I remember back in the day we used to Breakdance to a lot of Kraftwerk tracks. We had no idea who we were listening to, nor did we care. We just knew it was good music and we enjoy and appreciate it.
Several musicians have done covers, but I like this version best, plus my band at school had the equipment to play it, though I had to play it on a real drumset.
Got this one going through my head this morning. vaguely remember this one growing up when electronic music was in its infancy. Still sounds pretty cool in the 21st century.
They’ve influenced so many and still do, incredible unique sound, still to this day I pretend to play the keyboards to this innovative song and get the same buzz... 😍

The Model
She's a model and she's looking good
I'd like to take her home that's understood
She plays hard to get, she smiles from time to time
It only takes a camera to change her mind
She's going out tonight but drinking just champagne
And she has been checking nearly all the men
She's playing her game and you can hear them say
She is looking good, for beauty we will pay
She's posing for consumer products now and then
For every camera she gives the best she can
I saw her on the cover of a magazine
Now, she's a big success, I want to meet her again...

This song came out in 1978. My mind is blown away. Way too ahead of its time.
Your right. People seem to forget this was off the album Man Machine from 78', so even more ahead of it's time.
I loved bycycling around los angeles listening to this 40 years ago .
That came as a shock! I guess it's easy to forget that the 80s were 40 years ago for us who didn't live them, yet grew up with the movies and the music
Thorn Lesser !!!! 40 years ago, oh
Nice! Did you have a Walkman? Lol I remember having to change the batteries after a couple hours because the music would all of a sudden be half speed.
Im sure it still is a awesome thing to do 😉
@@__-vb3ht it’s hard for some of us to forget, for those of us that DID live them…
Rest in peace Florian Schneider, created of a masterpiece pop song that was ahead of its time.
R.I.P Florian.Loved krawtwerk songs.
Breathing song.
Kraftwerk were pioneers of the world.
Breathtaking even lol
How can some songs just sound as fresh as straight outta stove, God.. this song brings back ample amount of my childhood moments flashing right in front of me. Time really flies.
I’ve only just discovered this song this year. My mind is absolutely blown to find out that his song came out in 1978. I would have assumed it was in the 90s or early 2000s. But no. In my opinion, I believe that Kraftwerk was a band that was seriously way ahead of time!
Delia Derbyshire pioneered many electronic sounds and techniques in the 1960s.
I discovered this some yrs ago, and I'm also surprised.
Bachwerk
It’s not that they were ahead of their time, it’s the contemporary music which is more and more a remix of past stuff.
@@MrMaxemme smack on
R.I.P Florian Schneider. You only have to look at the influence Kraftwerk had on music to realise how great they were.
Indeed the list is endless
He influenced " The Farters" and that's about it. It was a rock band who never put out one single song. They are all dead now, probably of Fartphixsia.
Absolutely timeless ,pure classic forever.
A true work of art by a group far ahead of its time.
RIP Florian Schneider. One of many men to influence generations of keyboardists from the 80's to even this century. RIP GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN!
One of the earliest tunes I remember from my childhood. Haunting ☺️
Mine too ..an era never to be beaten
Mine was Hey Matthew by Karel Fialka. Haunting also
[Verse 1]
She's a model and she's looking good
I'd like to take her home, that's understood
She plays hard to get, she smiles from time to time
It only takes a camera to change her mind
[Verse 2]
She's going out to nightclubs, drinking just champagne
And she has been checking nearly all the men
She's playing her game and you can hear them say
She is looking good, for beauty we will pay
[Verse 3]
She's posing for consumer products now and then
For every camera, she gives the best she can
I saw her on the cover of a magazine
Now she's a big success, I want to meet her again
One of my favorite songs: still look modern, young and fresh. I love kraftwerk! A big hug from Argentine!
The perfect reminder, if you needed one, of the genius of Florian Schneider.
R.I.P
Hello Katherina
He's dead but he lives on in our hearts and that hurts coz there's no room for a Human body in our hearts.
Every single time I listen to this song, I am straight-away spirited back into my 1980s (early) childhood - I absolutely love most of that era's music!
Greetings from San Diego, CA.🇺🇸

RIP Florian thanks for the wonderful music 😞
Timeless record. I have it on download and I had the single way back when it was released. This was at no1 in the UK for five weeks, when most other great artists at their peak were around. Some feat. I think this is also a lovely and simple tribute to models.
Cant listen on the tube I have to dance
Magical musical hypnosis and time travel sound from the Gods of electronic music. Without them today's dance deep house, new age, techno and so on wouldn't exist.
Florian Schneider Requiescat in pace, such great music, so glad we had the blessing of listening to your music.
Some Ezio Auditore’s vibes here
He's dead but he's still alive in our hearts. And that hurts because he Can hardly fit in.
I've been listening it for years and I just can't get enough of it.

Imagine if Bach was still alive today and teamed up with Kraftwerk, they would have produced awesome music.
Would be incredible, Johann Sebastián Bach knows how to rock, after all.
I've been thinking all week long this tune's construction is so alike a Bach's fugue.
Just imagine what Bach could have done with a synthesizer. In fact, he was master of the top musical machine of his time: the pipe organ.
Thats ridiculous...bach wouldnt go near kraftwerk...musically he is a genius...kraftwerk are solid..just solid
I'm listening to this in 2024 !! And I'm 61 !!
I love Kraftwerk's music, for about half my life so far, I'll be around 60 in less than 2 decades, I plan..wish and hope to be listening to this...Underworld...and especially The Prodigy....peace ✌

I heard this song before a week ago on the radio, for the very 1st time and now I can't stop listen how good it is
One of the most bittersweet songs I ever heard. Absolutely wonderful, sad and awesome!
Goosebumps and a natural high when I first heard this and still the same 40 years later.
Just felt them now, awesome days.
The best electronic tune of all time. The patches on this are perfect.
They STILL sound like the forefront of electronic music!
RIP Florian! Und vielen dank! ❤️
I'm only 26 & I remember hearing this when I was a kid and still love it today! Kraftwerk are just amazing
Spitzenmusic! Ich freue mich sehr daran! Herzliche Grüsse aus Schweden! Gott mit uns!

Absolutely love this music. I’ve heard this about 30 years ago and have been searching for its title since then up to now but couldn’t find it. Then I heard it again on the radio today and immediately search it on youtube when the radio DJ mentioned the title, and boom! Replay button destroyed.
It’s increíble that with such little technology in those days Kraftwerk could make such master pices.
They were ahead of their time. Great music!
HYPNOTIC ❤
RIP Florian, the founder of 80's Synth. :'(
clare stubbs - Sure, and 1970’s too.
He was one of the early pioneers, but Tangerine Dream were doing it just as long, if not longer
Plus you also had individual acts like Jarre, Vangelis, and Tomito doing it as well
And very German ❤
Minha canção preferida 👏👏👏❤❤❤❤
I love how I can translate without even knowing the beauty of Portuguese

My favorite Kraftwerk song. Often duplicated but never surpassed.
what are other songs that sound duplicated, I haven’t heard any so I don’t agree
Several musicians have done covers, but I like this version best, plus my band at school had the equipment to play it, though I had to play it on a real drumset.
Got this one going through my head this morning. vaguely remember this one growing up when electronic music was in its infancy. Still sounds pretty cool in the 21st century.
Still? You mean there is better music today? Please show me!
I am very obsessed with this song! Love it!
