ima be real im still subscribed from that video of that one lady tryng to steal your drone from a couple years ago i hope your content keeps going have fun bro
One issue I had was crossfire telemetry was messing up my hdzero video, switched to ELRS 2.4g no more issues. Though from your DVR, it doesn't look like the same problem, I could see the noise before arming.
Dude, something is wrong here. Second location you don't even have full bars before takeoff, You even say "we should be at max power now" and your quad is on the ground looking right at you and you only have half bars.... I kinda wish you had the band/channel/power OSD element turned on so you could verify power output. I have better signal strength with a race V3 VTX on 200mw...
HDZero= perfect close range proxy flying. I bought the V2 freestyle for one of my Moon Goat frames and was highly disappointed... to the point I listed all my HDZ gear for sale and was going to stick to my DJI V2 goggles and vista units. Fast forward to the end of last week when it got cold out and I got the Whoops out... I'm defiantly keeping HDZ and will Freestyle the DJI rigs when penetration is needed. I will say I get a lot better results with my setup compared to yours though. I run a RushFPV cherry antenna on kwad and TruRC patch and Omnis on goggles.
I use a usb powerbank to power FC and the GPS connected to 4V5 so that it is powered via FC usb power in order to obtain Sats and the VTX to a 5vpad only so that it isn't powered up on usb power alone. Telemetry to the radio tells me when it is ready to fly.
I sometimes envy the dji air unit people 😂 they get such good penetration but the feel of flying is always off for me, I'd rather have fun flying and have that drone become an extension of my own body and it's harder to achieve that with dji even with the good picture. The feel is everything for me. Hdzero has the 540 60 mode and I hardly get any breakup but the picture quality is eh, not great but I'm fine with it. I love hdzero and how engaged with their community they are. I broke 2 vtxs and they took them and fixed them no problem. If they can't fix it they send you a brand new one. They respond quick and are such a great help. Literally the dream customer support everyone wants.
I feel like people just need to learn to accept HDZ for what it is, which is essentially premium analog with low latency / worse penetration, and stop expecting it to perform like / compete with DJI. The strengths and weaknesses of HDZ as a system are well known at this point... at the end of the day after doing your homework, if your flying style aligns more with the weaknesses of HDZ, you're obviously going to be disappointed, generally speaking.
Usually dont use gps on freestyle rigs...i def wouldnt use hdzero for long range or mid range flight...theres better options...hdzero would be more for close freestyle and whoops....i fly dji also but am considering walksnail after these goggles x get more feedback....because not a fan of dji cust service
The v2 comes with the 90fps camera which by default runs at 540p to achieve that frame rate. There is a lens upgrade accessory that makes a big difference and you can switch the resolution modes for a crisper image...but at the expense of introducing latency. I use rapidfire on my goggles as well and while it produces AWESOME analog video, it's still not better than HDZ even at 540p purely in the context of image quality and I have just reluctantly come to terms with that as of recently haha.

Lol all good brother!

I heard about this as well so I may try going down to 25mw on my CRSF.
Agreed turn the crsf RX telemetry off, it will clean up some/ all of the close range breakup.
Nice work, good to see more. Videos from you bro.

Bestest most Honest review I've seen. Informative.
Thank you! I always try to keep it real. I spoke with HDZero about the review and they said it was very fair :)
hmmm why u dont gettin full signal lose to you ? this is strange i have whoop lite and the penetration is great
How far away are you flying the whoop? In a house?
I think patch antenna's would help a good amount. I like DJI for exploring and HDzero is great for whoops and smaller drones.
I tried patch antennas at the end of video, but ya I agree!

i got the 0mW on my radio aswell as 25mW and 1000mW so i can switch around without going into the menue even
Almost got it on black Friday but found hdzero whoops for 120$ so got 3 instead :) but V2 freestyle definitely looks fun!

Hey man
What input power you give your freestyle v2?
Dude your crazy I always shard myself when I fly over water

To much mindcraft blocking for me for digital dji is the way to go and a good analog setup is just as good as hdzero
You are not flying Freestyle. Mid range flying. So what was the point of this video? I hope you are carrying personal liability insurance.
Maybe he just wanted to make a video? You shouldnt have even taken rhe time to comment.
Whats the point of your comment? He didnt mention to fly "Freestyle" but test the range and penetration.. 🤣
Damn Honestly HDZero looks like shit rapid fire looks better lol
