What is Waterspider in Lean?

Water Spider (Water Strider / Mizusumashi)
The water spider is the person who helps with supplying, assisting with changeovers and making tools and materials available. All this helps to maintain ´flow´ in the process and the operators in the process can focus on their own tasks.
The water spider takes care of the provision of materials and is responsible for ensuring there are empty containers and kanban maps available along the production line. Because of this, employees within the work cell or area can continue with their activities.
