  • A new classification of flats that differentiates BTO projects by locational attributes rather than the estate they are in will take effect from the second half of 2024.
This comes as the Government moves away from a long-standing system of classifying projects in mature and non-mature estates, to keep pace with the changing housing landscape.
All new BTO flats launched from the second half of 2024 will be classified into one of three categories: Prime, Plus or Standard, said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the National Day Rally on Sunday.

Are they really getting value for money paid for their 99-year leasehold, as Mdm Ho puts it?
Thankfully, as a result of the Non-constituency Member of Parliament, Mr Leong Mun Wai’s constant badgering for details from the Government, we now have specific data for a recent HDB project in Ang Mo Kio for the purpose of consideration.
Is HDB selling buyers its HDB flats at prices that are way above the cost involved in building them, or is HDB making buyers pay for the additional cost of building facilities and land that they do not own and then reducing the final price by “subsidising” the buyer with grants?

I guess housing is an important tool to ensure citizens have to work as long as possible to keep the economy running especially with an ageing population.
we can’t have the best of all worlds. would you want our economy to go down the drain and live in an era of malaysia?
