At least for 12 hours, as the end of service was at noon while the physical switch-off was midnight.

This was recorded from analog cable, which began a transitional digital service on 1 July 2011. Analog cable ceased operations in June 2015.

Due to technical problems that occurred during the July 2010 test shutdown at the analog translator relay site in Noto, Ishikawa the decision was made to shut off the transmitters at midnight instead of noon. The networks still chose to end regular programming at noon and this is why the blue information screens were shown. Anyway analog cable ceased operations in Japan in late March 2015, 3 years after the digital switchover took place in Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures (which was delayed to 31 March 2012 due to these area’s suffering severe damage).
