Happy New Year! The goal is to take down all the Christmas decorations by the 2nd week of January. It usually takes to get it all done and put up Valentine's Day decorations. Happy Stitching! 1,2,3,5,6,7,8,9
1,2,3,7 : I laughed out loud when Chelsea said Family is what makes this home a mess! 😂❤ I slowly start taking my Christmas down the first weekend after New Year’s. My goal is to have everything boxed and put up by the end of January.
I usually take them down anytime after Christmas but no later than Epiphany. Takes about an hour. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
Hey ladies! Happy new year!! I wait til after the 6th and it takes about a week but I still find things after about a month that needs to be shoved into a bin! 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9❤❤
Ever since I have been married, 52 years now, my husband wants decorations taken down on the day after Christmas. My health is now a problem, so he does it all. He is older than me, so he has started taking 3-4 days. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Thank you for the kind words to us fans. We probably all can say We love you back! And we love Landman too!💕💕💕
Since we moved and downsized this year I didn’t put much up. I just didn’t feel like packing away everything that I had just put up. Usually I take everything down on 3 Kings Day which is January 6. When I did put up my village Christmas tree I always left it up all winter long! 2,8
I usually take my Christmas decorations down the first weekend of january and it takes about 2 days to have everything put away! Happy New Year!! 🎉 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9!
I usually put my Christmas decorations away when the kids go back to school. My kids say it's still Christmas until they go back to school and if I take the decorations down before that it doesn't feel like vacation anymore. Oh and it takes a day or 2 to put them away.
2, 3, 4, 6, 8
I start taking down the tree a few days after Christmas and the following day the rest of the house is packed up. It’s all gone by New Year’s. I like to start the new year with a clean house.1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
Happy New Year! 🎉 usually first weekend in January or when I have time to put them away 😅 sometimes takes a week, sometimes one day.
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 We take our Christmas tree down a few days after the new year. Takes about 3 hours, I'm lucky to have help from my two daughters. Have a wonderful week.
We take the Christmas decorations down the weekend after Christmas. Only take about 1.5 hrs. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
Happy New Year! 🎉
The plan was to take it down Thursday, but I have the flu so my kiddos are helping take it down today. We start back to school Monday so I feel like it just needs to happen before then. Have a great week!
2, 3, 5, 8
I start taking down Christmas decorations on January 2nd. It usually takes me a few days. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
Happy New Year. Usually take down decorations soon after the first of January. It usually takes me a couple of days but I don't rush too much. Happy stitching and keep warm. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
I usually put my Christmas decorations away after January 6th. It usually only takes me one day to put it all away. I have a Snowman display and hot cocoa display that I keep up until I decorate for Spring / Easter 1, 2, 3, 9
I put my Christmas up the Friday after Thanksgiving and I leave it up until whenever I’m ready for it to come down. Sometime that’s February, one time it was March but mostly it’s toward the end of January. I find the winter very blah and no color so I enjoy having my trees up with the color lights. Makes me happy and cozy feeling. Happy New Year!🥳🎉 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. I leave my tree up until January 6th and the put away Christmas decorations slowly. It takes me about a week. I don't like to rush it.
I take my Christmas decorations down when the mood hits me. Usually the second week of January when I realize Christmas is truly over. I would love to see it last all year long. Love the lights and all the beautiful decorations. My favorite holiday. 1,7 🎄
The longest we ever left our tree up was April. Life happens & it just never was the right time. This year hoping to have everything packed up by the end of January. Oldest son had foot surgery so for now I am maid, cook, laundress, & anything else that is needed. He gets stitches out Monday so the doc said he will be in a boot instead of crutches. Fingers crossed. Happy New Year.🎉
After January 5th, the tree comes down. Snowman decorations come out and snowflakes from Hobby Lobby. I will put Valentine stuff with them later. You girls just crack me up. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. Happy New Year. Zinnia sure is growing and such a little sweetheart.
Happy new year, ladies! I start putting my tree down/decorations away the first two weeks of January. No set date and no rush. I bring storage boxes up gradually, fill them as the mood moves me, and then take the boxes down to bring up more. Take care & happy stitching. 1 , 6 , 7 , 8
I started decorating Oct 15 and it takes 1 month for me to complete all on my own slowly & carefully. Most of my time deboxing & putting batteries into ornaments for 4 large trees ❤ Only takes me 2 to 3 weeks to put away leisurely. I won't start until January 10th to put away. I don't decorate for Valentines Day so I will start putting up my Bunny/carrot theme for Easter middle of February and that only takes me 1 week 😊
Happy New Year!! I usually wait until after January 6th to take down my decorations. I recently read that people used to leave their decorations up until Candlemas which was around February 2. It was considered bad luck to take it down before that. I will probably start on the Wednesday after Jan 6 and it will take a couple of afternoons. I leave out the snowmen until Spring comes, and I usually leave up my Cross Stitch Ornament tree for awhile longer. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 - i take everything down jan 7 or later. I dont have a whole lot so only takes an afternoon 😊
This year is very different for me. I am at my son's home at Fort Drum in Northern NY while he is deployed, taking care of his home and furry babies. I decorated my son's very large hibiscus tree for Christmas. It's staying up till he gets home at the end of February. 1,2,3,4,7,8
Love your weekly flosstubes, your designs are so pretty and I have stitched many. Your little ones are so cute, love to see them in your pictures. You don't show or talk about the little ones you used to travel to, hope that family is ok. Happy stitching!
Usually Christmas is taken down the middle of January & takes about an hour. I didn't put up much this year. I have a small table top tree that I'm going to keep up & switch out this year!
1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9
Love the new charts. We take ours down the day after Christmas. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Thank you for sharing and have a blessed week. Lucinda
Happy New Year!! I take down Christmas after January first. It all depends on how much I put up as to how long it takes to take down and that varies each year. This year I didn’t put out much so it should only take a couple hours to take down!
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
My rule is anytime after the first of the year the tree comes down. This year it was january 2nd. We live in Japan while my husband is in the air force and our house is super crowded so i havent done much decorating here.
2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8
We put Christmas away around the 6th of January it takes about 3 days. Once the house is returned to its former decor I always find random Christmas stuff tucked in odd places. I then have to dig out some of the Christmas boxes and add to them. So frustrating! Love its not clutter 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8,9
Happy weekend ladies!!!
I usually put stuff away right after New years. This year I’m going to start on Monday(6th) and probably will take two / three days 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9
I take my decorations down on January 6- keep snowmen stuff until Valentines decorating. Thanks again for all the laughter- you 2 never disappoint.❤ the playful bantering.2,3,8
I took my big tree down on January 1 as I knew we were getting a log of snow and I have to walk outside to get into the basement. I took a little more down yesterday but the rest I leave up for awhile as it is more winter - snowmen, gnomes and plain trees. 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9
It will depend when I put up my tree as to when it when it will come down. I got my decor up late this year, so it will be left up til the end of January but it will be taken down before we head out west for a couple of weeks.
1,2,3 4,5,6,7,8,9
I'm working on putting Christmas away now. I do it in phases, usually starting around the 1st.
1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
I’m planning on taking my tree down next week and get all the mess cleaned up. We’ve been sick so it’s had to wait! Usually I have them down the week after Christmas. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
I have not taken anything down....I have been to busy with this Winter Storm coming to the South...1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9....plus all the relatives are sick, and not going near anyone for a week or two...be safe on your trip and have fun..
Hi! I usually put my stuff away after Jan 6th. But, this year i did it early because i am having construction done! 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
I’ve started taking decorations down- but still haven’t tackled my tree! 1,2,3, 4, 5, 6,7,8,9
Happy New Year! We usually take down our decorations sometime after New Years and before mid-January. I’ll probably tackle it this week, but I’m still enjoying it so I don’t feel rushed to put it away. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. Thank you!
My Christmas stuff usually comes down on January 1st and it takes me a couple of hours! #1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9
I seem to be the only one that wants the tree so it went up the week before and my husband took it down on the 30th. I told him next year it's going up on November 1 at. 1,2,3,46,7,8,9. Have fun on your cruise!
Happy New Year to you both and your families! My Christmas decorations stay up until the middle of January , which is when my wedding anniversry is. I decoate for winter with snowmen and snowflakes after that.1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
I’m old, retired and handicapped sooooooo my tree comes down before Jan. 5 which is my daughter’s birthday. It takes about 5 minutes. It stays decorated and goes directly in a bin. It is a 3 foot tabletop tree decorated with 41 years of Hallmark Nostalgic Houses ornaments that my sister gives me for my birthday every year. One benefit of a December birthday is that an ornament is always a great gift. I continue to be impressed with your designing talents and what prolific stitchers you are. Thanks for sharing. 1, 2, 7, 8, 9. Have a blessed 2025. ❤
Loved hearing that you collect the Nostalgic house/buildings Hallmark ornaments. Me too ❤ I figured out several years ago to get the miniature vehicles that go nicely with my set up on 2 shelves of my China Cabinet. 😊
1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. The day after Christmas here. Got tired of my cats knocking down ornaments. Taking out my Christmas village. Probably took about four hours.
We take down majority of the decoration after January 1st. But we leave a ceramic Christmas tree up until January 6th. I love Christmas, but I’m ready for all of it to come down after New Years Day. My oldest son did everything late, teeth, crawling, walking etc. My two other kids where early for everything. They where all very different, they did everything when they wanted. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
I usually wait at least a few day days after Christmas to take down the decorations, but they are generally put away by New Year’s Day. The outside house lights sometimes last a little longer depending on the time and weather. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Thank you for designs and a lot of laughter in 2024. Wishing you all a Happy, Healthy, and Blessed New Year.
I leave my tree up until I get tired of it! I love the lights. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
Putting away my Christmas depends on the year. Usually I try to have it all taken down early January. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
I put my Christmas away on New Year's Day this year. Usually I do it the first week of the year. It is my least favorite chore of the year. Happy New Year! 1, 2, 5, 7, 9
I just took the last of it down today. It takes me 2-3 days to put everything away. So right after New Years Day, Jan. 2nd, the first tree gets dismantled. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. Thank you for sharing!
My husband likes Christmas decor left up until Epiphany (January 6), so I start on the 6th. It usually takes me 2-3 days to take it all down. 2,3,5,7,8,9
Usually January 1st but this year it was the 2nd January I started about 12pm and it was all down and packed away by 1.am, I was then hoovering my lounge and kitchen at 1.30am, I also put all my farm house Cross stitch and chicken cross stitch back up in my kitchen and valentines and winter in my lounge 😀I was knackered but it’s all done now, so about 13 hours 😂 ♥️♥️♥️
Happy new year. I leave my decorations up until mid December to attempt to avoid the “post holiday sad” feeling. The twinkle lights and decorations make me feel comforted. It takes me a weekend to get it down then I start my yearly house scrub and organize. 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
Happy New Year! I took my things down this year Dec. 31st. But it varies each year. 1,2,3,5,6,7,8,& 9.
We take down the first weekend after new years. My husband, son and daughter put away the outdoor decorations. My daughter and I undecorate inside. It’ll be 99% done by Monday. There are always a few items that we find later. Enjoyed your Flosstube - so fun to hear about your big family. 1, 2, 3, 4, 9
I don't usually take my Christmas stuff down until the first week in January. 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
Happy new year🎉 taking down my Christmas tree, etc. varies every year. This year I’m just taking decorations off and making a winter tree. It makes me happy to have the lights and decorations up so I decided why not every season. 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.
Sadly my decorations didn’t get up this year. I had company at Thanksgiving and working on Christmas presents. My great grandsons were going to help and they got Influenza A for 2 weeks. In a normal year I would leave my decorations up until after Epiphany and it takes an entire day. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
Happy New Year Priscilla & Chelsea! Christmas decorations come down the weekend immediately following New Year's Day. Ours had been up since mid November, so we had a long time to enjoy it all. Now the house seems empty as I don't have much in winter or Valentine's Day decor. 3, 4, 8, 9.
I put my Christmas decorations away after January 1st. Takes a couple hours. My winter stays out until Spring. 2, 8. Happy Stitching.
I put away my decorations when I get tired of it. This year I am planning on putting it away this first weekend of January. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
I like to leave my tree up until after Jan 1st as that is my grandsons birthday! Then I take it down in a day, 1-2 days after that. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. Happy New Year!
I start taking Christmas down on Christmas night! 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
I put away the tree two days before New Years and leave the color red through out the house 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,
I will start taking Christmas down this week and replace it with Snowmen. I can do one room at a time and it doesn't seem so much. I also leave up the garland that has white lights in it and switch out the Christmas for snowflakes, or ornaments that sre white, blue, and silver. It feels very clean and crisp after all the Christmasy colors. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
1, 4, 5, 8. My decor went down after we dropped our daughter off at the airport on 1/3. Usually though I take it down 1/1 and it takes me all day including cleaning. 3 floors of holiday decor.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. It take almost 3 days to take down holiday decor. It all has to Fit in one closet, because I don’t have a garage and can’t access attic. I leave out winter decor till end of the month.
I’ve had some health issues so my Christmas tree and decorations are still up. Hopefully I’ll start taking them down this weekend.
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
Our Christmas decorations come down all in the same day around the end of January. I love the lights from the trees during the storms. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. Happy New Year!
Decorations come down gradually after Jan 6 (3 Kings Day or Epiphany) Music still plays as long as the cable system has it up. Nativity scene is last and comes down whenever I get the notion.
1,3,4,7
Happy New Year 🎉 I am looking forward to this year's designs. Thank you for bringing so much joy to my life.
Happy New Year! I'm getting ready for get my holiday stuff put away soon. We have 3 January birthdays in our house, (already had 2!) and I like leaving the decor up for them. It makes it a little more festive. Plus we got everything up late, because my dear sweet hubby is a firm "not until after Thanksgiving!" person. 2, 6, 8, 9
I am starting to slowly put away decorations, but I give myself until Martin Luther King Day! I only decorate the downstairs of my house the day after Thanksgiving and I like to enjoy it. I laughed so hard about the dog knocking down the gate when Priscilla said she was going away! I would love 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, or 8.
Happy New Year! I take Christmas down usually right after New Years. 1-2 days to take down and get to the basement. 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9
Just took the last 2 boxes downstairs today. I always wait until right after January 1st to start. It took 3 days, only because I have problems with my legs and back now and takes me longer. A few years ago I could do it all in one day. Just need to take the lights off the tree which is kept up all year long. It is a black tree I bought for Halloween ornaments and I decorate for every holiday. Next up…,Valentines Day decorations.
I leave decorations up well into January. I have to psych myself up to put things away because it's soooo depressing. It probably takes me a week, maybe 5 days, to get everything packed and my house put back to order. It's truly the worst part of Christmas.
#1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9
1,2,3,4,5,7,8,9 we take everything down the weekend after Christmas. We have 2 new cats, so we didn’t get to do a tree this year 😢
Happy New Year! I'm taking my decorations down today - maybe takes a few hours - depends on how distracted I get. Christmas seemed to come and go so quick I left them out longer. 1,2,4,5,6,7,9
Happy New Year to all! 1 2 3 4 8 9. My decorations come down New Years Day. Only takes awhile since don’t put up as much anymore.
We love you all too! You both were hilarious today. Love it! I put my Christmas stuff away around the New Year. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, & 9
Because I put my Christmas decorations up so early this year (because Thanksgiving was so early), I took my Christmas decorations down on December 27. It took about 4 hours and of course I forgot something. This year it was all of the stocking hanging on the mantle. #2, 3, 8
I usually take my Christmas down the weekend after January 1st. It takes about 2-3 hours. I hope you had a great New Years. #1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
I start putting Christmas decorations down around January 1st very slowly, so takes me about 4 days to get things off the porch, walls, and tree
I usually take all the decorations down sometime between the day after Christmas and before New Years Eve. Luckily, it doesn't take as long as putting them up, but it still takes a good day to day and half. It always feels good when it's done! 3, 8
We start taking things down after the New Year, we have 2 big trees, a village, mantle things, outdoor lights, etc. 3, 6, 7, 9
I take down after the 1st of the year! I enjoyed today’s tutorial it was a blast! I love to listen to y’all giggle and have so much together and especially to her Zinnia! She is just to adorable! Have a great week!❤️❤️
EVERYBODY text Chelsea! 😂😂
Just kidding! …do NOT do that!
This year, I took Christmas down on the 27th. Some years, I do that a couple of weeks later.
Once again, thanks for the laughs, ladies!
Most of my decorations are coming down this weekend. It will take at least 4 hours to put it away properly. A few of my more winter, like snowmen, stay up through February with some Valentines added. 2, 3, 5, 7, 8
Happy New year...my daughter and grandgirls help put away Christmas ...blessings to you all for the 2025❤
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 I'll start putting stuff away next week, I'm not in a hurry to do it. It takes me a couple days if I really work at it.
Happy New Year! I usually have a day sometime the week after Christmas when suddenly the decorations just feel like overwhelming clutter. This year, it was the Friday after Christmas and it all came down. I tend to leave my cross stitch up through February, taking down the obvious Christmas only (Santa’s and such) I don’t have nearly the amount of decor that you have, but it’s a chore nonetheless! 1,5,6,7,8,9
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
I take down after the 5th of January, It takes me about a week in half to get it all down and put away.
I did not get my tree up until the Saturday before Christmas, so this stuff is staying up indefinitely! 😂
Happy New Year ladies 🥂
I usually take our Christmas decorations down on the 1st. However this year my decorations were put up late so taking them down this weekend. I didn't put everything out this year so it will probably only take a couple of hours to get it down.2.3.8.
I take mine down the weekend after Christmas and it usually is just a one day job. But I also find that I forget something and notice it several days later. 😂 this year it’s the garland around my curtain rod by back sliding glass door. I am looking at it as I type😂 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9.
1 and 8 take it down between weekend between Christmas and New Years. You two are the best!
Priscilla, have you ever thought of ‘hiring’ a volunteer group ( like the local 4h club/ or Girl Scouts) to have them come in for a donation to help you undecorate after Christmas? You could have each one of your kids supervise a room and have a crew in each room. You could get it done in a day…or so.
Happy New Year! This year, I took my Christmas decorations down the day after New Years. I used to take it all down the day after Christmas because I couldn't wait to clean! 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
I put my Christmas decorations away the week after New Years and it takes about 1/2 hour. Happy New Year to you both!! #2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9
