Well that cancer is the #1 thing I'm sick and tired of so it's worth mentioning imo. Being "unwoke" doesn't make anything automatically good, it just means it's not automatically bad.
Tyler Perry made an entire (very successful) career out of this particular genre, so there must be an audience somewhere. It certainly isn't me though.
@@jessekoepp3928 Tyler’s work is based off this type of theater that grew in popularity in the black community in big cities which is, for lack of a better comparison, a type of English panto but for blacks.
We're at a point in film history where we're so starved of anything above average, that mediocre movies such as this are considered high quality now. If this were 2005, then this movie would have gotten no attention whatsoever
It's been a long long time since a comedy was made. A lot of people say "The Hangover" was the last one, but I found that movie awful and deeply unfunny.
RZA and GZA are cousins, but anyone else who uses a variation of that name, (in this case SZA), has no relation. A$AP Rocky and Rihanna named their son RZA tho

I am willing to give this movie the benefit of the doubt. I appreciate their disagreement, but based on what Chris is saying, I could see myself checking it out.

It's a good buddy comedy movie, reminds me of Friday or early Spike Lee Joints, anyways, I laughed and was entertained, I'm not asking for much more than that from a comedy movie. Go see it on a cheap night with your crew.
You guys were so divergent I had to check it out myself and today was $5 Tuesday. It was...okay. I laughed maybe a half dozen times. Good chemistry between the actresses, and I liked how several of the subplots came together in the third act (like the falling ceiling). Glad to see Katt Williams getting work. But this movie was as immediately forgettable as it was harmless.
I just stumbled across here and it's like a satire comedy; the guy on the bottom goes on and on, then invites the guy on the top to speak, and goes on to repeatedly shut him off with more of his drivel.
I already saw this movie over 15 years ago, it's called The Friday After Next. Two roommates short on the rent having a big party at the end of pay for it , and they both have Kat Williams in it, except this movie is not as funny.
Why did so many people review this film? This is the kind of low budget release that most online critics ignore because as they never fail to tell us, they are not part of the intended demographic. This isn't an Oscarbait prestige release and it isn't made for the movie bros because it isn't sci-fi, horror, action or a superhero movie.
I always thought, going back in the WABAC machine, that there was a better version of Talladega Nights that they got cold feet about shooting...seems like they left a lot of potential comedy out of that flick given what they had to work with. That being said, I don't think this is a movie that would appeal to me, but I'm glad it got made and I hope it does well.
People complaining that chris is interrupting Alan too much must be new here. This is what they always do. The people complaining that chris is somehow wrong, or woke, or whatever other BS you’re saying is the dumbest thing ever. Chris is always himself and honest when it comes to reviews. He doesn’t bend the knee to majority of the audience that watches this channel that want every single movie to be horrible or woke. If it’s entertaining and he likes it, he voices that. If it’s not, he voices that. I think this movie looks dumb and unfunny, but I didn’t see it so I can’t say what’s what.
Oh really Chris? A comedy that isn't funny and 2 blacks as protagonist.... No, Hollywood hasn't learned shit. I think they have to go bankrupt before they learn anything.
Eh? What have “2 blacks” got to do with anything? If you’re funny you’re funny. Ever seen Beverly Hills cop? Now if you’d have said “2 women” I’d have had more sympathy

On the other hand, it is refreshing to see a reviewer so passionate about the art that he is literally shaking trying to not talk.

That Keke Palmer was terrible in NOPE. I like the movie, I just didn’t care for her loud mouth in any way. They didn’t need her in the movie!😐
All I know is she got Bill Murray fired from a movie project. The movie was never heard of again.
