    18:45 tbh i was expecting molotov's since i noticed the bottle-icon on a screenshot before launch. it's a missed oportunity. not only you should have been able to fill bottles with gasoline, but also with water (or beer lol) to put out burning barrels to turn off light sources that cannot be turned off with firearms

    The tanks that Germany actually had on Guernsey were captured French Char B1s from 1940, which would have made so much more sense, as well as adding variety!

    Wow what a brilliantly crafted video. And thanks for the shoutout to Core2tom channel @7:12. I love his videos they are pure gem in terms of creativity you giving him credit will definitely help him in growth. Of all the ideas that were removed from se5 i think for me atleast what i want the most are footprint mechanic, because that would add extra layer of creditability to stealth and difficulty. Tripmine could be fun for taking out certain annyoing targets whithout bieng close. Paratroopers will definitely make the game more fun and challenging specially in terms of sniping on highest dufficulty. As for the crouch run featured bieng removed from se5 i think i agree with you on that point that crouch walk was painfully slow in se4 whereas as crouching in se5 seems reasonable without crouch run. Hiding in truck feature can be very useful if done right and will not affect the difficulty of the game but as you mentioned it can also make the game too easy to travel. Also i want them to make rewarding and scoring system more detailing as in mgs5 phantom pain giving credit to the players who took complete stealth approach

    SE5 had so many showstopper bugs at first release - like the War Factory smelter objective - that it was an immediate indication things hadn’t gone well during the pandemic period, it took Rebellion months to patch the bugs. It’s great to see a summary of all the missing content, we’ve been complaining about things like the Rough Landing bridge and Festung Japanese visitors since forever. I think Invasion is a brilliant addition but it sucked up all the resources during a difficult time, hopefully they’ll be able to incorporate all the best of SE4 & 5 into SE6. Me and my co-op buddy are still killing invaders and having a laugh. Keep up the good work Brutal!

    Hopefully we get the old items back along with a bunch of new items. Wish we could carry 4 of each like in se4. I’d also like to see the radioman and flare man back along with the alarms in se6. Paratrooper reinforcements would be incredible! It would also be nice for vehicle reinforcements to arrive as well like half tracks and armor.

    I've always thought SE5 could have so much more in it.... I agree with you that we should be discouraged from going loud with Gun & Run tactics, that would have been ok if there was a speedrun challenge. I set myself a personal challenge by doing all the missions from the beginning to the end, killing EVERY enemy and without taking a single shot in return fire.
    Another challenge I set myself was to gain as many medals as I can in a single mission, clear all the yellow dots before the mission and start. I managed to get 27 in a single mission.

    I think there was a mortar crew in Liberation. I remember that when I played the game on release day, Liberation had a visible mortar crew on the left hand side of the final bridge and you could shoot them. They would be behind the shrubs and near the mansion on the left side of the aforementioned final bridge.

      @@BrutalBarracuda let me know if you find anything! Also, Karl’s voice line “mortars are zeroed in on the bridge” makes me believe that was the intended first purpose but they added the flare gun after scrapping the mortar crew idea.

      Yup, now you say this I remember it clearly. If we go back far enough in your videos BB, I think it was discussed at the time. Along the lines of, what happened to the mortars? Where’d they go? Pretty sure that was on your channel.

    Idk if having a tougher reinforcement system as a means to discourage players from playing aggressive would be a smart choice for the game or not. But I personally would’ve loved to take on these paratrooper jagers as someone who likes to play this game aggressively.

    22:42 if you look closely you can see karl aiming with the rifle for a moment. i always thought the linear starting area of ​​Liberation was boring and unecessary, but maybe there was originally a different cutscene and Karl could really use this mechanic here. maybe you were able to take out the first sniper in the tower before karl hit the ground 🤔 would also mean paratroopers could have attacked you from the sky... and what if the invader could have entered the map by parachute?

    I think there was also a cut side objective in the second mission. One of the barns next to one of the alternate spawns is filled with explosives. When you blow them up Karl has a unique line and the barn fully sets on fire.

    Nice video, Brutal. I think they cut content in Spy Academy too. Karls talks about sabotage Richter's car. But after meeting Richter just walks in his "office" instead to his car. So there is no point to sabotage his vehicle. And it's a shame that Rebellion stopped supporting SE5 instead of adding some missing stuff like A+, balancing Invasion Mode etc.

      se5 is an unfinished game and will never be what i could have been. i think stop supporting it and instead put more work in se6 is a good choice.

    A challenge for you to try sometime. Play any scenario you chose. Start at any starting point you chose. Don't use DL Carbine or welrod. Use any rifle so long as the sound distance is 120 meters or more. All other weapons have to have at least a 50 meter sound distance. No melee takedowns. No sound masking at all. No use of ANY silenced weapon. Finish all objectives only Karl cannot be injured or you start over. Even if he falls or a grenade hits him without blowing him up. ANY injury and you must start over! Blow doors instead of unlocking them. Mines and grenades are fine to use, as are panzerfausts. And play authentic! See how many attempts it takes you.... Good luck!

    The trip mine was my go to for anti-personnel in the previous games, while I only used the teller when laying traps for vehicles. It was always very satisfying laying the wire out to the exact angle and distance, you could even make it quite long just for early warning even past it’s lethal range. Such a shame they didn’t include it!

    This is a pretty good list. It still blows me away that everything seemed to come together so well in #SE4 and they just nerfed so many things. It's almost like they took several steps back, particularly in movement, which is far worse here than in #SE4 & #ZA4, thanks at least partially to all the fucking nonsensical invisible walls. Subsequent installments should, if anything, add more stuff, not take existing things away and should definitely not feel like a downgrade, which #SE5 did for me. More than anything this reinforces the idea that it would have been a better game had they stuck to polishing what was already existing in #ZA4, with some graphic improvements and new maps.

    Seeing this and the possible stuffs on SE resistance trailer/cover art, these games can really have so much depth in it so hopefully SE6 adds alot of this and more, i feel rebellion does not take full advantage of all the things they can do with a ww2 game. Also putting more meat on the story cutscenes.

    I'd like to see a setting as an optional feature that allows a 2nd invader for co-op matches.
    Also, allow to manually set a shorter invasion cool down period.

    Let's not give Rebellion excuses for not having stuff in the game because of Covid. Let's not forget that they Tweeted in very early January 2020 that they'd be dropping preview videos in Q2. With that timescale, I would have expected the release to be Q4 2020.
    Considering the delay, SE5 was really lazy even compared to the previous 2 games.

    Great video as usual BB, but I have to disagree strongly about SE should be designed to force people to play stealthily. I hate playing stealthily and if I was forced to by the game, I probably wouldn't buy it.
    I HAVE TO shoot every single vehicle, every oil drum, every gas cannister. I fact I have to shoot anything that explodes. My style is just to get into a firefight with everyone, the more enemies the better. It's how I like to play.
    Leave the game as it is, where you have a choice of stealth for players like you or a choice of noise and explosions for players like me 😁

      I find that playstyle impossible on medium difficulty or higher. You just take damage too fast. But it can be fun to just go Rambo on very easy when you heal like Wolverine and can just take cover for a moment and pop back up with full health.

    foot prints would've been rad. Also would've liked a GTA style of punishment for louder missions, something like more and more traps and enemies with more and more pattern variation and vehicles would've been fun. Maybe also make ammo and such harder to come by via having it 'locked down' by squads or in forts.

    I think with the Focke Wulfe aircraft could be a Fw-189 a twin engine aircraft which is a reconnaissance/ spotter aircraft? By having a twin engine aircraft it would make it a longer lasting menace by loitering and targeting Carl, to call in more troops?
    I totally agree with you in that I miss the trip mines, I think we should have all available and we can select which mine/ explosive to use.
    You've cleared up the biggest question I had about the missions. Why did those flags get tagged (for no apparent reason) in 'Festung Guernsey' they served no purpose, until you explained it now!
    I think the jumping in the truck for a ride, would have added bonus into the missions a different way to finish the missions if you like.
    What would be nice is on completion of the mission we get the choice to select parachute drop into anywhere in the game, Carl is dropped in the centre of the map, but then using the parachute he can navigate himself to any part of the map. the risk being he might get spotted while airborne.

    If spring and trip are missing from SE6 I will wait 12/18 months for the game to come cheap, me and my son have lot's to do with 4 and 5 so can wait, if springs and trips are back day one buy whatever the price!..

    They could have made it so you can find S-mines inside the locked boxes/equipment boxes around the map, and be given the option to swap out AT mines for the S-mines. But I guess some simple things fly over devs heads sometimes 😂

    New mechanics like enemies following footsteps would be great, also a little bit more of a hitman approach like using enemies cloth for infiltrating would be nice. But also to be able to use vehicles in general would be nice to see (hiding/driving)

    One thing we can be thankful for is the Ai invasion mode. It cheats consistently. Here in Australia on Xbox console 80% of invaders are Ai, that's good, isn't it? I mean nobody really wants a genuine good gaming experience, do they. Use intel phone and invading sniper is on the other side of the map... seconds later Tap - - Tap ...I've been shot by a machine gun because the sniper transported 1000m in twenty seconds.

    On levels with more than one exfiltrate point.. I'd like to see different start points on the next level.. would make levels more playable.. being able to try out the different exits

    I somewhat see why they removed the Fallshimjagers because of them being reorganized into infantry instead of paratroopers after 1941 hence why them being paradropped as reinforcements even though I have a feeling that's the role of the Luftwaffe Jagers in the campaign being a counterpart to the Fallshimjagers and the idea of a thermite grenade sounds better than putting a satchal charge on the engine of a tank to make the engine exposed to shoot with AP ammo and how thermite could be used more than just on vehicles and could be used if a player don't have satchel charges as an alternative way to destroy artillery by melting the breech unable to open. Maybe in another Sniper Elite game we can get other mechanics or other types of munitions or grenades because only the Model 24 Stielhandgranate Grenade can get repetitive of having the normal and sticky/adhesive.

      SEV2 had 2 types of grenades, but I can't say that i miss the other one. what I do miss is the real functionality of the stielhandgranate. normally it explodes on impact and not after a short timelimit. i understand why it was adapted like this for the game, but i would like to have this as an option at least

    interesting. Yeah, the lack of mines surprises me too, thse shu mines, i found useless for protecting a flank while sniping. nN that note, while I like it when games offer non-lethal options, it felt out of place for a sniper game. I mean, whats the point of your rifle and improved kill cam, if you never get to use it? Also, one odd change i found for SE5, how most enemy soldiesr do not wear helmets/headgear
    One thing I really missed in sniper elite 5, how vehicle kill cams were removed ,it would have been a cool idea to see with the improved kill cam here
    Also, found the collectables disapointing, the lettesr in the third game, where a nice touch, showing lore and backstories, with Sniper elite 4 improving greatly with the final letters and such I find. SE5, just helps to locate objectives, nothing more.
    Some other things, Mohler felt like a joke, compared to the villians from 3 and 4, given how those had proper build up/background and an actual direct interaction with Karl, , while Mohler has just a phone call, plus right shown at the start through intercepted intel. And the DLCs, I loved how SE3 and 4 not only teased the next location but also had a unique threat to it. SE5 DLCs, felt more like 08/15 work and the final one, felt like a joke with how the main target is just a normal officer in behavior and such. I suppose in chronical, Berlin would make most sense, given it ws 45 and SE5 was 44.
    The new officer mechanic, I was not sure what to think about that, given the panic is completly irrelevant in stealth.

    I feel Liberation should have been from the beaches up to where the mission starts rather than being glided in or like the introduction parachuted in, also once we take the first objective ie the sniper, communications and the Armoured car, why the Rangers don't move into control the area and as Karl Clears areas they keep advancing. Also the lack of readiness of the Germans, (should they not be yellow rather than white) the communication unit must have heard that the invasion on the beaches has started. The Germans wouldn't be walking around aimlessly as if everything was normal. 7 troops in a trench area is pitiful. If it was a strategic choke point, would it not have been better defended. I can understand that this would become something similar to call of duty, but it would have been a touch more realistic.
    Any details on SE6, where is it located, are we going through Holland, maybe clearing bridges during Operation Market Garden aiding the Parachute Regiment/Airbourne or Still Liberating Areas of France, or are we entering Germany.
    I suppose we will just need to wait and see.

    Defusing the bombs on Rough Landing should have absolutely been an objective. Problem is, the mission already had 3 side objectives, which seems to be the max for any mission in the game. I definitely agree that there should have been a fight for the bridge, but silently defusing some bombs doesn't really strike me as grounds for sending in a squad to retaliate. Realistically, how would the Germans know they were defused (given that most players, myself included, eliminate all guards on the bridge, leaving no one to find the sabotaged bombs). I think Karl should stumble upon a document that details an anti-saboteur plan where additional units will arrive when a code word is given via radio, much like that one objective in Deathstom #2 where Karl can lure a Valkyrie squad into the map and ambush them. It could be a multi-step objective: Karl defuses the bombs, kills the officer on the bridge to find the codeword, locates a radio to call in the Jager snipers and soldiers, and then the final part is to eliminate the squad that arrives.

      The bomb should have been a fake, to lure Karl in. Once he realises its a fake its too late, the ambush has already began. Then the reinforcements appear.

      ​@BrutalBarracuda Oooh, I hadn't thought of it like that. Since the Nazis would then clearly have known that Karl was in the area, a Raubvogel-esq fight should ensue. To expand on that further, perhaps an elite sniper squad could be in the area simply to hunt Karl, as the Germans have it on good authority that the man who destroyed Operation Kraken is on its scent again. If the player gets into combat or sounds an alarm, elite snipers arrive and hunt down the player (like how the Russian sniper team in V2 had some units that ran up on foot), with there being a set limit to the amount of snipers that spawn per encounter (maybe 2 per gunfight, 3 for an alarm), but when Karl sets off the trap on the bridge a large squad arrives, with their captain being armored or something that makes him unique to the other sniper Jagers. I definitely like the idea of a bridge fight, but an alternative stealth path should be available like Karl being able to hide in train cars and such, so that "The Shadow" can work his magic and eliminate an elite squad meant to kill him without stirring so much as a shot. Perhaps some French resistance members can go in and disarm the bomb so long as a path is cleared, and maybe this method is also only available when Karl learns it's a trap (could be intel found from a highly guarded officer or safe, something you really have to work for). If you don't find the intel, you have to disarm the bombs yourself and get into a sniper fight; have the French help you, and there is the opportunity to ambush the snipers since Karl won't be where they expect him to. Once the squad is taken out, no more snipers will spawn when detected or an alarm is raised.

    Steam wouldn’t allow me too purchase 5 until very recently; haven’t started it yet. So a total newbie and watching all of your videos with great interest.

    First off, I thought the season passes were a complete rip-off. No reason other than greed to split it in two. Me and my buddy had a blast playing it, but other than Axis Invasion I didn´t feel it was that new. The mission structure became repetetive and objectives became very same-y. If they make a new one we either need a completely new setting or a new era with more to do.
