  • This is one of my favourite songs and I noticed there wasn't a version on RUclips anywhere. This is my first attempt at this sort of thing so if it's crap I'm sorry!

At the risk of sounding like some old "When I was a Lad" fogey - She was way sexier and had far mor energy and sass than the current crop of female stars...

Never understood why Transvision Vamp didn't take off in North America. Wendy James was sexy, talented and charismatic! Just amazes me that someone like Brittany Spears could have been marketed and pawned off with such success..and a rock star like Wendy James got overlooked. I think she's a rock legand.

Bang on there pal. Iv often wondered too. Something went wrong cos she was a pretty determined young lady. Was it drugs??

The US never got on to rock as other parts of the world did. Despite the fact that it was basically inveted there. Of course they had their fair share with the likes of Aerosmith, RHCP, Iggy/Stooges, G'n'R, Doors, ZZ Top and probably quite a few more. But they always competed neck to neck with a truckload full of Soul, R'n'B, Funk, Country, hell, even Easy Listening stuff ... so there was always less room for Rock. I also always felt that American rock very often just doesn't have the same grunt and urge as British style stuff. Mind you, I like a fair bit of US music. Just trying to explain. ;-)
Greatest rock bands of them all? Stones (UK), Led Zep (UK), Purple (UK), Who (UK), Judas Priest (UK), Maiden (UK), Sabbath (UK), AC/DC (ex-pat UK ;-)), Motörhead (UK), Status Quo (UK), that whole punk posse from Sex Pistols to the Damned (UK), all of that innovative Indie and Rave Rock from the 80ies and 90ies (Smiths, Cure, Charlatans, ...) and of course BritPop from Blur to Oasis (which essentially isn't Pop but Rock), U2 (nearby UK), Pink Floyd (UK), ... I don't know where to stop ...

Brilliant! One of my fave songs growing up! And ironically, many years later, I had a boss named Cindy and she was certainly nothing if not a psycho! Evil, evil woman. Thanks for sharing!
