Delicious Popcorn Chicken (2 ways) | SAMSEATS

- Popcorn chicken - hands down one of THE best fast foods out there.
Here I’ll be showing you how to cook it two different ways - the classic deep fried version using buttermilk and a healthier (yet equally delicious) oven baked breaded version. Both ways are delicious and so simple to make.
On a side note, I just wanted to thank EVERY single one of you 700K and counting, for your amazing support so far. This is the just beginning of an incredible journey to come. A few big things planned, including some travelling to different countries too 🤙🏼

Ingredients:
Fried:
Serves 4
650g chicken thigh fillets (no bones or skin)
1 tsp smoked paprika x2
1 tsp cayenne pepper x2
1 tsp garlic powder x2
1 tsp salt x2
1 tsp pepper x2
380ml / 1.5 cups buttermilk
1 cup cornstarch
2 cups plain flour
Vegetable oil (for frying)
Oven baked:
Serves 4
650g chicken thigh fillets (no bones or skin)
0.5 tsp smoked paprika
0.5 tsp cayenne pepper
0.5 tsp garlic powder
0.5 tsp salt
0.5 tsp pepper
2 eggs (beaten)
1 cup plain flour
2 cups panko breadcrumbs
Oil (in spray bottle preferably)

Quick note, the sauce I ate this with is a classic gochujang dipping sauce:
2 tbsp gochujang paste
5 garlic cloves (minced)
1 inch knob of ginger (grated)
1 tsp sesame oil
4 tbsp rice wine
2 tbsp soy sauce
4 tbsp ketchup
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp brown sugar
Add to a pan, bring to a gentle bubble and reduce for a few minutes 🔥

My little brother linked me to this video so... hint taken lmao. I've been using breast fillets for my oven-baked chicken popcorn, and not using a wire rack. They turn out nicely, but not as crunchy as these look like, so I'll try the thigh meat + cooking on a wire rack with oil spray way! Thanks!
