I bought Suite, in November, when Ableton were doing the 20% discount + free upgrade to 11. I also had a discount for upgrading from lite, as well as a voucher, that came with my Akai keyboard. I basically got Suite for almost the same price as Standard. Which was suite. ;)
@@LNADoesAudioStuff I've been producing for well over 20 years. Never went pro or tried to make money at my hobby. I moved into photography and video production for some 10 years and kinda dropped out of music all together. I've just recently got back into music production and went back to the DAW that I learned on which was Samplitude. Purchased Magix's latest version Pro5. But all of my music friends kept swearing by this new DAW called Ableton Live. So I decided to try the trial version. It was different from what I was used to but everyone says it's strength is in it's applets and clip based arranger. Only a week into my trial period I decided to put Samplitude to the side and commit fully to Ableton Live 10; so I purchased a Suite License. I've been watching Ableton Live videos for the past 3 mos straight and I swear everytime I fire it up I learn a new technique or something I flat out didn't know. I didn't know you could insert "silence" into the arranger in arrangement view lol. Ableton looks simple but it is not by any means. I only have a few gripes about the DAW's UI but it is truly a creative beast. Online tutorials like yours are such time savers especially for a new user like myself. And your accent is downright adorable. I'm shocked your channel isn't bigger.
Bronwyn SoCal Gal aww thank you so much! ☺️ I am so glad you found Ableton Live and you have been keeping on practising it, even though it looks bit different than other DAWs 💕 learning it, was the best thing I have ever done ❤️
I've bought a launchpad mini novation and downloaded Ableton 10. I do have a Scarlett focusrite. I now want to record guitar and learn to play keyboard but I'm struggling how to play and record. It looks very difficult to understand..help anyone
Hello, can you say, how do you save the CPU while working on Ableton? I mean those heavy plugins like UAD makes for example. Or when you open to many plugins. Do you use Apollo for saving or another thing?
It really depends too when and where you buy Ableton. I got Ableton Suite during a Chinese holiday so there was a discount, and it turned out that it is significantly cheaper here than say in UK or US.
I’ve been making and recording classical music with Ableton. This involves lots of free tempo (rubato etc) and time signature changes. What’s the best way of setting up a project for this? Thanks!
Hey! I just really can not decide which version (Standard or Suite) I should buy. I am pretty sure I won't need Max4 Live at the moment. I have plans doing beats, recording my voice with effects and also recording instruments and being a little bit experimental with atmospheric sounds (hope you know what I mean..). At the moment I could afford Suite (EDU price) but don't know if I would really use all the extra stuff and maybe it also would hold me back because there is so much to try out. But if I'll buy Standard now I am afraid that I want to upgrade to Suite in a about 1,5 year or so and have to pay much more in total. Would really aprecciate if someone could help me! ^^
The manual and most videos covers effects assuming you have standard or suite. I have the intro version and there are effects included which do not feature in the manual online. Eg Grand Drum Buss …. This is not the same as drumbuss. I have searched for ages trying to locate such information . Even Ableton cannot help . If anyone has info or links . I would be grateful if you can help. Ps . Some of these effects have disappeared or have been transformed when I’ve updated over time . I’m surprised the ableton site does not cover this edition.
Thanks for the video! Not really agree with you definition of Intro: I have been using Intro for years (I am playing several acoustic instruments, recording, remixing, usually at most 6-7 tracks). I am looking actually for an argument to upgrade to Standard but I am unable to find any good argument apart from the additional tracks...
I have not tried Live itself on tablets, but I use apps like TouchAble wich is an amazing extention to Live, so you can have wireless control of the DAW in any situation :)
I am thinking to buy abelton intro - I want to plug my keybored in to it (which has a large variety of sounds) and record live instruments to make my songs. Will abelton intro be good enough to record my keybored sounds and vocals in to it ?
Yeah I was using standard for so long (I'm 19) and now is 20% discount on upgrade to suite and free upgrade to live 11 in next year so I'm deciding to upgrade I could wait until uni start to get 40% discount but 215£ It's not that bad and my parents covered part of it so here we go! thanks for video explaining more differences:)
OMG over hundred! Probably was close to that when I was recording orchestra 😂 usually in normal production I stay under 30... I like minimlism... and good CPU levels 😂

What are you like 12? Why rip off these companies? What if they all turned round and said no more .. we'll go make cheese and wine instead.... And then we won't have these great things to work with.

Niceee!!
Which Akai keyboard?!
Just got a Novation Controller for my kids. This video was a huge help!! Thank you
Thank you for sharing, needing to upgrade soon and this helped solidify my decision!
Glad I could help! :)
I went ahead and got the Push 2 with Ableton standard. I like Ableton and use a lot with my Push 2.

I personally keep my computer as powerfull/clean as possible and then freeze/flatten tracks if I can ☺️
Very informative thanks
Happy it helped!

On system.. i got an i7 ThinkPad very cheaply. Macs are incredibly expensive for the specs you get / which you can't upgrade yourself.
