The odd thing about this short work is that it is very rarely performed at any church service - even under normal conditions. Maybe something to do with canon law? What an enormous contrast with the Planets / A Perfect Fool.

It's not cannon law; this text is good for the Feast of the Presentation, which only happens once a year. Like how you don't hear the Litany of the Saints often because All Saints Day and Easter Vigil, the occasions for it, are only once a year.
Um how about yes?! You're talking to a choral scholar in a Cambridge Chapel Choir. I hope next time you make an observation someone responds laconically to you too. How rude.
Those sopranos.... and tenors... and altos... and basses...

The text is part of the Compline or Night Prayer liturgy. You would have to find a place where that service is sung.

You phrased it as a question and got someone's opinion...it was a yes or no question. I agree with him...it didn't sound sharp to me either.

She was a little on top of the pitch, but that's fine.
No.
Really don't want to put on a blight on the performance, 'cos they were amazing, but wasn't that final sustained A a little sharp? Could just be me!!
