Same way. If you are going from legendary to classic than you do not have to do anything extra. HOWEVER, if you are going from classic to Legendary you will have to redo any missions you completed on classic, on Legendary difficulty. To redo a mission you can open up the map for neomuna. On the most you will see the option to replay missions. Select Legendary difficulty and redo all missions you completed on classic. This will allow you to collect of all the extra rewards you get for completing the campaign on Legendary. Hope this helps !

So I completed the campaign on classic difficulty. Is there a way to redo it on legendary so I can get the exotic?
